  1. My work here is done for the day. Blessed be the Krakened. Achoo.
  2. So, um... I don't really want to get into discussions or anything because I think my position is fairly clear, but if anyone else wants to "send off" version 0.1.3 with me this week I'll be in the daily trying to exploit the bugs I despise the most... If anyone want to join me there instead of in here, um... yeah. That's where I'll be. I may still kick around in challenges. But don't feel obligated. I understand if you don't want to or don't think I shouldn't be celebrating. Anyway, as you all were.
  3. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v-yvjTCJYEFao1FGU-wOJjR0bp_umIX-/view?usp=sharing Yeah, there. Thanks for doing what you do! Some extra notes from this one... When adding the extra legs in between- the hubs connect along the line of hubs, or chain from the "Foot" back to the "Spine". I feel like the latter is more likely the more regular occurrence, but If you notice the one leg I "missed", the removal is... not how I expected the parts to join. I also added the wheels in paired symmetry which I'm sure doesn't help, but I think that was also the point. If it allows me to do it the game should append the part to the appropriate parent (in this case the foot on the opposite side). Now I know that I didn't add the legs that way, but shouldn't that mean that the game would disallow me to make the add? Please don't feel compelled to answer. The questions are just why I feel compelled to share the experience.
  4. @Anth12 Last one for ya. FYI, the audio on this one is tounge in cheek. Apropos I think, but I definitely enjoy the vibe of the first vid the best. Apparently I enjoyed the vibe of this bug too, since I felt compelled to put my computer through that crime. But I am done with this. I'm going to go fly something now. And I'll add a craft file in just a second here...
  5. FIN Anyone wondering what a "Hard Crash" is... its a crash that's hard to take- it hurts my feelings. Otherwise it's just a game restart. Anyway, I'm moving on now. Not from the game, of course, but maybe to something less terrestrial. Now, where did I leave my novel inspiration...
  6. Well, I did stick it in the Bug Forum, then I did it again. And again, and again... because anything worth doing once in Kerbal is worth doing until you're sick of it (mileage may vary)
  7. Since I have absolutely no knowledge of how it works otherwise? Yeah. Unless someone can clear that up... Clearly some of thes parts aren't the same in KSP2, but it gives me something to aim at. Having said that, I haven't had trouble with any of these parts EXCEPT for the XS cubic trusses and hubs in experimentation.
  8. @Anth12 As promised... I continued on with this monstrosity and learned some neat things about building with these hubs. Attaching a line of hubs next to another line attaches them in ways that breaks what root part they had, or it attaches them in ways that are unintuitive to my eyes- It's easier to see in video. The trusses cause similar failure. Another note- with some experimentation I found that placing these hubs between non-cubic parts (specifically tiny stack decouplers, as in one decoupler per hub) resulted in similar, but unique results. All of the bugged parts would converge on the anchor, like a dense stack, then revert to their original paired position, even after decouple. I did also break the game with a hard crash just after this. I filled in the gaps on the legs and then launched. Nothing else needed to happen on my part- I watched my computer scream at 1-5 frames per second before it went black to desktop. Posting those results soon with the craft file that did the dirty. Another, other note- Wheels seal the deal. These wobble on their own, but adding wheels adds limitless chaos.
  9. I should clarify: It does not crash crash on "first load" from VAB, but rather after "reverting from VAB". The vid I posted shows the hard crash after revert to launch... that may have been the case, but I couldn't get the craft to bug out regularly after "revert to launch". I will absolutely investigate further. This was the best laugh I had all week!
  10. Reported Version: v0.1.3.2 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win10 | CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 | GPU: 3080 | RAM: 32 Make a vessel out of cubic truss with a cubic truss anchor, launch vessel, while vessel is moving warp... kaboom, hard crash. Happens usually after first load from VAB, occasionally from revert to launch. Always causes strange re-arrange after loading from VAB, but the crash seems to be in unique circumstances (more parts and moving) Included Attachments: KSP2KerbalTetrisProgram.mp4
  11. I took what I learned from suffering to get to Bop and made those cubic struts my biscuits. Now we have Kerbal Tetris Program! Go stick that in your bug forum.
  12. @PDCWolf I'll bite. First off, you gotta stop with the 1.5 million figure. It's absolutely ridiculous to assume that 100% of those users are available to downvote within 30 seconds. A better figure to use would be the currently online number. It's still in the thousands, but under 10,000. Millions is wildly conflated for this context since we are talking about immediate responses. Speaking of immediate responses, we are talking about responses within 30 seconds. That is verbatim what Dakota said, right? And the number was what, 6? Six downvotes, bud. That's hardly 1.5 million. Certainly not even 10,000. It was SIX. So tell me again how Dakota insulted "All of Reddit" and talked down to the community at large. It was a comment on reddit security. Hell, it could even be about a "upvote downvote fuzzing algorithm". But to jump right to "Dakota insulted me" is so vain. It's not about you. It's about Dakota sharing a concern with trying to communicate the things that you beg for them to give you, Daily. If it's bots downvoting KSP2 posts then your less likely to see the news in the feed. Holy moly. Get a grip.
  13. I'm still loving this game. I think a part of me will be sad when the Kraken is less prevalent. A very small and mischievous part of me. Reading the community at large and seeing some of the onlookers ask about the status of the game, I decided to make a video showing folks a more unpolished play session. This was recorded over a 2 days and comes from probably 4 hours of gameplay altogether. I didn't plan on making this video- I just wanted to do another small moon Circumnavigation. But after just trying to get to Bop with a vessel I had already circumnavigated Gilly in... I had to share the struggle. And I'll load it again tonight and keep playing... because it's still a joy to experience what I've been waiting for for years. Here's to the next update! CHOO CHOO!
  14. This is so ridiculous. Show me where Dakota called someone a bot directly. Where is it? Because it didn't happen. Stop fabricating things folks. Dakota mentioned the feeling of being "botted"- this is a perfectly reasonable worry on platforms like reddit. We live in 2023 and bot farms are a thing. It's a perfectly reasonable concern.
  15. As of version 0.1.3.2, Parts without physics seem to be the main issue for many of my inexplicable bugs, so let's make sure everyone knows which parts they are so they can experiment or avoid them. It's tough to be Kraken bait without even knowing what's luring the beast. If you have a part to add to the list, or a combo of parts or assembly that seems to give you issues (or maybe even a workaround), please post it here. Someone mentioned physicsless parts as an issue and the notes in the Wiki are remarkably similar to what I've encountered in KSP2. I've confirmed 2 craft killers from this list and wonder if other parts in this category of attachment could cause problems in certain circumstances. I've grabbed a list of parts from a KSP1 wiki since KSP2 wikis are unfinished (nor can I find a comprehensive part list without making my own). From the Kerbal Wiki for KSP1: As far as KSP2 is concerned, I'll just put these two on a "confirmed list" STJ-3125 Square Truss Junction Suare Truss (Excuse me while I go look up the proper name) I'm looking forward to checking back on the progress of all of these parts in the coming weeks after August 22nd. Until then, I hope this helps you all "Fly Safe"!
  16. I might still have some 0.1.3.2 footage of orbital line disappearing after booster decoupling.
  17. Gilly, Pol, and Bop, "Are we a joke to you?!" Cool image
  18. I've wondered this too. It could be organic dissatisfaction, but it sometimes feels pushed, if not coordinated. Reminds me of the "agent provocateur". Imagine dedicating your day to making someone else's miserable. What a sorry way to live.
  19. I'm going to emphasize the words "Feels like", which to me is the same as saying "I'm 95% certain". The alternative, as has been mentioned, is that there are 10 people just waiting to downvote in the KSP2 subreddit as it auto-refreshes in "new". Sort of an Occams Razor argument. Of "1.5 million people" is exactly the kind of hyperbole I'mtalking about. Less than 200 are playing the game and the KSP subreddit currently has less than 1500 people online as of this moment. It's easier for me to imagine 1 botter handing out auto downvotes. It's so much harder for me to believe a few dozen peeps have nothing better to do than wait patiently all day just to downvote KSP2 content in new within THIRTY SECONDS. I'm outta here for now. See ya'll tomorrow in the K.E.R.B.
  20. So check this, Dakota never mentioned 100% certainty. Even mentions the proof is a 30 second window. That kind of behavior feels like botting. Personally I don't really post to reddit anymore because it doesn't matter if I'm pro or against something KSP2, if it's a KSP2 post it always starts off negative. OK. So I get what Dakota is feeling. After that every thing just gets blown out of proportion. All of the comments are "How dare you call me a bot!" Or some variation of "game garbage, devs trying to trick me, etc". The important thing to me here is 30 seconds. That initial upload time. If you weren't there for that moment, the comment isn't about you! It's so not about you! This is a comment about how difficult it is to communicate- like, actually have productive discourse- in Reddit's M.O.
