Just added Dibel Kerman to the Crew, she's a pilot.

Europa flyby Periapsis: 42km

Is it possible to disable the staging sound?
-
I launched a new Crew to the station: The Apollo CSM is as big as the entire station . The supply-vehicle is still attached. 90 days later... Then they returned back home:

Ganymede flyby Closest approach: 43km

My Jupiter Orbiter performed an Io flyby: Closest approach: 60km Also, the "Pioneer 11 transfer window" opened, that means I can send a probe to Saturn within 6 years using a Jupiter flyby. I launched 2 probes, the first one got the encounters, the second one failed.

Can't stop watching this video

OMG hype!! -
I decided to do something what NASA hasn't done yet.............a Neptune Orbiter for example !! Launch on Saturn Va-Centaur-D. DeltaV = 23,000m/s The transferburn to Neptune took 14 minutes and required about 8900 m/s deltaV The Orbiter will arrive there in 31 years (btw thats way longer than expected, I thought it will take about 15 years...) I also returned the Station crew from yesterday back home. Now I have to send a resupply ship to the station, after Bob and Dibel run-down everything
-
I accepted the "First Space Station" contract. First I had to launch the station core: Then I launched the crew on a upgraded Titan II Gemini: Docking took a while, but then it worked. Bob and Dibel are going to stay on the station for 30 days.

What was your first screen shot on KSP
Julien Kerman replied to kerbinorbiter's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is the oldest screenshot I can find. It is from the steam demo version which I tested before buying the game. It was taken on Tuesday, April 5th 2016 at 00:10 AM and shows an early attempt to escape the atmosphere. -
Do you hear that ?? The loud music ?? It comes from the Astronaut Complex, there is a party going on The Kerbals just received a message from Jeb, who landed successfully on the surface of the moon!! Everything went as perfect as the final test run from Yesterday. Launch on Saturn Va, no problems: Transfer burn: Jeb planted the flag, then he had a bit trouble getting back in the command pod because up there were no ladders. Ascent and Splashdown were also as planned: That was my very first manned Moon landing in RSS RO RP0 I was not able to land there in 1969, but hey 1971 is also quite good!

Today was the final test run for the upcoming manned moon landing. (Spoiler because LOTS of pictures)

Went to Venus again..... Reentry this time without any breaking parts: First parachute deploys: Then it broke due to the heat The probe hit the surface with about 14 m/s, luckily the heatshield was still attached so the probe core did not explode or tipped over. Unfortunately, I had no connection, so the probe was basically useless. * 5th attempt incoming *
-
I finally want to land a Probe on the surface of Venus, so.......4th attempt.

What is the latest and greatest visual mod for KSP?
Julien Kerman replied to Raxor30's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Try StockVisualEnhancements. -
You can also try the "early controllable core". I saw a video where both of them worked.
-
Try to use the "Ranger Block I Core", this part should work. It does not require a extra mod to add it.
-
I decided to use an advanced probe core / avionics unit which tolerates much higher temperatures and pressure, you will see soon. Next Venus window opens in 200 days
-
Well, I already designed a new Probe, which should resist the atmospheric pressure.
-
"Venus Lander Probe 03" arrived! The transfer stage had still 2200m/s deltaV left, so I decided to enter into orbit before I start the descent burn. Then everything went wrong First, during the descent into the atmosphere the antenna broke due to the high deceleration. And then, 13km above the surface, the probe exploded, because the atmospheric pressure was way to high. I decided to load a previous save and let the probe in orbit, where it will be used as an relay station for upcoming missions. I also launched a new Jupiter probe, it will enter into orbit and explore at least two Galilean moons.

What if the SLS would use Falcon 9 core stages (2 on each side) instead of the Solid rocket boosters? Do you think this can increase the performance of the SLS ?
-
I did nothing very special today, I placed a Satellite in polar orbit around the Moon... ...and Jeb & Bill tested the Gemini command pod in LEO where they had some EVA fun.
-
It is an AJ-10-mid engine which was developed by Aerojet Rocketdyne in 1957.
-
No, none of the engines are from SpaceX. But which one do you mean exactly?
-
I unlocked the J-2 engines, so I could finally build the Saturn V. Actually I made two versions: Saturn Va with FASA parts And Saturn Vb with procedural parts. Then I realized that I have to upgrade my launchpad because the rockets are too tall. BTW I wonder why the procedural parts version is twice as expensive and takes 460 days instead of 200 days. The Venus transfer window opened, so I launched my first Venus Lander Probe on top of a Titan 3E (this rocket launched the Voyager probes in 1977) Venus transfer: Probe separation:
