Metoprolololololol. It's a beta blocker, it's to try to keep my heart rate down. Now the real trick is to re-quit caffeine. A bit of a conundrum, as the beta blocker + no caffeine = me essentially in a coma. I think I have that too. I frequently deal with bank tellers who have no business being anywhere an electronic device or other peoples' money. A good percentage of my phone calls are done in a perpetual facepalm.

Well, literally everything you do in this game is fine. If you want to spend your entire day walking a kerbal around the KSC pretending to tend gardens, then go nuts! It's your game. I really think SSTO spaceplaces are popular for the cool factor. Which they are. SSTO reusable rockets are pretty cool too, especially when you manage to land them back on the launchpad. As for the Laythe example, they definitely do have an advantage over a rocket a reusable SSTO rocket. Laythe is almost all water, and bringing a rocket down precisely to get on land all the time on Laythe would be incredibly tedious.

Steerwing A300 Crew Transfer Issue?
Geonovast replied to Crillion's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Do you have any mods installed? -
How is this poking the bear? OP is simply asking if a thing exists.

Add-on to make antennas required for unmanned vehicles?
Geonovast replied to PTGFlyer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Literally as easy as copying and pasting the folder. KSP Folder/game/saves/folderwithnameofyoursave Just copy the whole thing. If everything blows up on load your original won't be touched. Remember you can install the two versions at the same time (Just in different folders) and your operating system won't know the difference. I have like... somewhere between 8 and 12 installs right now. -
Add-on to make antennas required for unmanned vehicles?
Geonovast replied to PTGFlyer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I think I know the post you're talking about, and it was a mistake. It was corrected with a link to the new thread, I believe it got a new maintainer, which is why it got a new thread. I get that. I held onto 1.3.1 all the way through 1.5 being announced, I only went to 1.4.5 because there was a mod I wanted that didn't have a 1.3.1 version. -
Sounds pretty definitive unless something's making your computer run WOT all the time. I would research the battery's model number and see what kind of track record it has.
-
@Spaceception try a higher amp charger. They may have underrated the charger with that thing in some effort to be energy efficient so the laptop only charges adequately in certain conditions. Or your battery is fried. Is it Windows? I saw Windows 10 do something completely stupid once with a battery. I picked up an older laptop off Facebook that Windows 10 had forced its way into (As it liked to do), and on boot it would say it didn't recognize the model number of the battery, then forced you to shut it down. You could do literally nothing with it. Installed Linux on it and now everything is perfect. Charges just fine.

Add-on to make antennas required for unmanned vehicles?
Geonovast replied to PTGFlyer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
It's good up to at least 1.4.5. I can't say much about 1.1 vs 1.4, as I started with 1.3 and have played 1.3.1 for most of my time. But, as point of interest, you just asked about a mod to do something that was made stock awhile ago. I only suggested you install it and the mods one at a time, since the fact that you tried it at all implied you wanted to update. There's nothing wrong with sticking with an older version, I wasn't saying you had to upgrade. But it might be a good idea to mention it in your OP when asking for support since you're 4 major releases behind what's current. -
Re-started taking my heart meds a few days ago and now I'm always tired and easily irritated.

Install it stock, verify it works. Then install your mods one by one, verifying that you have the right version for your version of the game and all of the dependencies are installed. You're not on a 32bit computer, are you? The latest version is 64 bit only. -
Before going any further... SSTO does not explicitely mean reusable space place. It's simply Single Stage To Orbit. I build expendable rockets all the time that are SSTOs, because they don't stage anything off before achieving orbit. What happens after orbit is irrelevant as far as SSTO status is concerned. SSTO returnable space planes however, are their own thing. They may not be practical in most places, but they sure are a challenge to learn to build and really fun to use. The bulk of my KSP time nowadays is spent flying reusable shuttles, like the real one. Practical for the game? Not at all. But a blast to launch, dock, and fly back to the KSC. Plus they look cool. SSTO planes are the same. I'm terrible at them, I can't get squat as far as cargo up with one, but I did manage to build one that's a good small crew ferry for a space station. Were I in career, I could run kerbals or small supply payloads up to my space station for the cost of fuel.

Physics Processing
Geonovast replied to Paul_Productions's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
All CPU. If you're asking about it because you're thinking about an external GPU, I say it's still a good idea to get one. It takes the graphics load (which isn't much) off the CPU. You should see an improvement. -
A very strange FPS fix
Geonovast replied to Shaun's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
You might want to take a look at this -
Where is you CoM at landing condition in relation to your landing gear?
-
Why would they need a button? Ctrl + Z works fine. Is there something weird about your keyboard where Ctrl + Z is a pain? Also, welcome to the forums, @OldStick!
-
"Well, at least we'll have spares" - Tritop, channeling her inner Batman right before totaling one during a test. @Interstellar Yeet Well it's not like you need those after you land.

How Much Time Have You Spent Playing KSP?
Geonovast replied to SelectHalfling0's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I have the GoG version so I have no idea. I don't think I want to know. Wouldn't surprise me if it was over 2000 hours. -
MK2 pod freeze, Mac air 2015

Do you have the correct version of Making History for your KSP version? -
Pretty much a rite of passage. Welcome to the forums @Vahnskir!

I see that kind of crap all the time. I do know, though, that in some states, a motorcycle can go through a red light during certain circumstances. They have to be the only ones at the light, and they have to sit there long enough that it's obvious the sensor isn't going to detect them. Obviously not the case here...
-
So who moderates this thread?
-
Not necessarily that you're not accounting for the extra weight, but having the module there is moving your CoM. The pod's a lot heavier, so it's pushing your CoM up. Nothing to do with the parachute. In the VAB, if you remove everything except what's going to be re-entering, you can click the small round button immediately to the right of your price indicator to see where your Center Of Mass is. You need that as close to the heat shield as possible. If it's too high, it will flip. As for launch, it seems like it should be fairly stable. Which LFO engine is in that shroud? The Swivel or Reliant?
-
Sorry dude. How old?
-
SAS set on stability can actually cause issues if your rocket's design requires it to fly perfectly prograde. Do you have any probe cores, extra pods, or docking ports on the rocket? Is your navball completely blue when sitting on the launchpad?
