A report of the stall speed of a Cessna 206 on Mars

Universal Storage 1.4.0.0 (For KSP 1.4.x) 13th March 2018
Geonovast replied to Paul Kingtiger's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This is one of my top mods, I just love it! The reboot looks incredible! Just curious, I see you have taller tanks for stacked cores. Any chance there's going to be multi-core KIS containers? -
FireFox Quantum is irritating me to no end.
-
I think we need a Kerbal movie that does neither and both of those things.
-
That's why I put them away when they get too hot! Also, those exploding isn't fatal to the pilot... @qzgy Val knows what she's doin'

Testing V2 at the moment

FINALLY made an SSTO plane! No payload, but given that I have 761 m/s still in the tanks, I imagine I could modify it to have cargo (even if it's just to ferry Kerbals to and from a space station). I have been struggling with this for so long. Jury's still out on whether or not in can survive re-entry. It's not even ugly! And it's stock! Edit: Jury's back. It cannot. Everything would be fine if the Mk1 Cockpit wasn't so... explody.

Welcome! Nice video.

So... basically the Hyperion New-U System?
-
Yeah shortly after I posted that I realized it wasn't a good comparison, since my brain was in "for comparable amounts of fuel" mode, which is kinda irrelevant. Unfortunately I was driving when that light came on and wasn't able to fix it.

I like the ion stuff, for small probes. Even did a 2 hour Moho capture once on a manned craft with 4 ions. Then again, when I play KSP, I am almost always doing something else at the same time. So I just set up the burn, then adjust another window so I can still see KSP on the bottom for the burn time. Well, you don't launch with Nukes. They're nice for interplanetary. This is a quick and dirty comparison, but ~31% more dV on a craft that's ~43% heavier? I'll take it over oompf any day! As far as what I don't use... of the stock parts, all I can really think of that I've never used is the Ant and those hardpoints.
-
Check to make sure this isn't off somehow. Also it appears that respawns are handled in playtime hours, not game days or real time.
-
Mine usually hovers around 3.5 - 4, even after running for a few hours. Biggest spike I've noticed was a little over 6. I upgraded from 8 to 16 after seeing that spike, but that was mainly so I could switch off my swap partition.

I enjoy both playstyles. All my mods give me a lot more to do. Make certain things easier, and overwhelmingly add to the game. I don't have anything enforcing realism installed since I prefer to think of it as a game than a sim. But I of course have nothing against those who play the realistic stuff. I also love playing stock once in awhile. As I've stated before, I grew up playing with K'nex, which basically went unchanged for the first decade or so. Very limited selection of parts. But when you've made something incredible, like this, using the few choices you were given, it can give you a real sense of accomplishment. There's always going to be a mentality that it isn't good unless it was done with what you were originally given. Some of it might be masked jealousy. Some may come from someone who is on the autism spectrum and is just very set on things being a certain way. Some may just be people being a jerk. Some people just can't seem to grasp that there's no wrong way to play a strictly single player game. Obviously Squad has no problem with mods. If they feel cheated somehow that you did something they couldn't do by using a mod, there's nothing you can do but shrug it off. The way this forum is run is the reason it's one of only two forums I've joined where I really stuck around.

I am, and I am. I had skimmed the TRR thread and saw other people with the same issue but just figured the fix was stupid-complicated. Thanks! Worked perfectly.
-
So I figured out my issue with the Interior Heat Probe. Not sure why it didn't affect all of them... I wasn't attaching them to the ground with 'H'. I was just dropping them. It wasn't until I started messing with the CB1 ground base that I realized you could attach stuff to the ground. No 'splody now.

Connecting Surface Modules
Geonovast replied to Kerbal7's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Usually probably maybe. I've had hassle. I may have been abusing the feature, though. I've had the pipe connections break or even move to a different spot on craft load (which would actually happen when connecting the pipes, since you're actually creating and loading a new craft) You can see on the right that the pipe is broken. I have to repair it every time I load something in that area. -
Nothing movable on the probe helped, but thankfully I'd tossed in an extra reaction wheel for re-entry stability, and I was able to orient it to launch it off a ramp.... retrograde... at like 30 deg inclination. Didn't matter too much as it was just going back to Kerbin, and the outer tanks with the landing gear was ejected immediately after, uh, takeoff. Just had an interesting return orbit.
-
This is turning out to be an interesting science save. Landed really close to whatever that is, completely by accident. I have a feeling it's the Mun Armstrong monument, which I've never visited in any of my games. Didn't even notice it until I was almost all the way down. Unfortunately this is just a probe, and I can't walk/fly out and take a look at it easily. Probe still has almost 1,600 dV, so I could probably hop it over there. ...yup. Getting back into orbit might be interesting.
-
I honestly don't care when it gets busted, I'm just sick of the changing. All the reasons I've ever heard for its existence are irrelevant now. That and I just wanna pop the people who want to "fall back" twice a year.
-
Started a new Science save, and semi-accidentally landed on the VAB on my first launch. I've actually never been up there before.

Last time I touched Norton, it was to remove it. My mom's subscription ran out, and conveniently, at that very moment, she caught a virus that disabled her browser and redirected all page requests to... a page to renew her Norton subscription. Funny how uninstalling Norton also removed that particular virus.

I see you figured it out, but I went through the effort, so I'm posting it anyway for any other new members who might stumble on this thread.
