  1. Primarily mining. Drills and ISRU converters need to be thermally controlled. Engines can also get nice and hot, especially the nukes, but never had one explode on me.
  2. Soooo I'm really really bad at shuttles. Both launching and re-entry. But I think I figured out a workaround for the whole ridiculously unbalanced launch thing. Two at once!
  3. I heaftily disagree! This game is already cheaper than most games out there, and waaaaay more worth it. I would gladly shell out the $40 again without a second thought. However, if you aren't needing to scratch the itch too bad, maybe it will be on sale again soon. It just went on a 40% off cycle not too long ago. Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it! Unless your PC is a potato, definitely get it for PC. More stable, you can partake in the thousands of mods available, and, frankly, I couldn't imagine building anything with a controller. Even if your PC is a potato... I would still shy away from the console versions. As @Vanamonde said, they're rather broken at the moment, and can't be modded.
  4. I use CubeUpload. I don't think they could have made it more straightforward, and unless you need to manage a lot of pictures so you can easily re-use them, you don't even need an account. The only downside I've seen is no albums - everything's lumped together, so I just made a few accounts. How about "The Boganaut Maneuver"
  5. This is from a few days ago, but I hadn't touched the save since this until now since I had to deal some... stupid occurrences. The only thing to go right was getting the manufacturing facility down. First incident was getting the launchpad down by the manufacturing facility. Getting there wasn't too bad (near-polar surface rendezvous are super fun though). But, things did not go as planned and the craft wasn't exactly designed for actually bringing the launchpad itself down. So I had to touch down, do a controlled tip over, intentionally bust up the solar panels, and.. roll into almost position. The Raysel needed to push it the rest of the way. Then Leeford busted up her Rovander on the drive to the base and needed Raysel to go get her. Luckily since the base was up and running, I was able to manufacture the side command seat and bolt it on. But now I have wandering drills. Anyone wanna take a guess as to which mod is causing it? (possibly the same one that keeps breaking the pipeline?)
  6. I haven't played much career, but, AFAIK, you can sent the SC-9001 to dock with the MPL, transfer the data to the MPL, reset the SC-9001 with a scientist who's in the MPL, then send the SC-9001 back to the surface. Crunch the data in the MPL and transmit it back to Kerbin. You shouldn't have to send the lab back to Kerbin.
  7. How are you translating without RCS? Legit curious, RCS is vital for all my docking.
  8. This would be a great idea in general. Until I started modding, I really wanted to be able to put my saves on a network drive to be able to access them from my desktop or my laptop. Is there are reason you specifically want a cloud backup? Or are you just looking for some kind of auto backup? Remember:
  9. I never watched Space 1999, but I recently built a fleet of these for Dres. They're likely less efficient on the Mun. Slightly modded with built in (terrible) ISRU, but you could probably get a couple hops out of them. Like from the Munar surface ISRU port, to biome, then back to ISRU port. IIRC these have about 1500 dV when full. Wouldn't be difficult to built a stock version. Uses RCS and a reaction wheel to tip up for launch (or a ramp).
  10. Munchkin hanging out in my co-worker's plane.
  11. NASA had teams of mathematicians crunching numbers I wouldn't want to watch someone else mess with. Honestly I've had the exact opposite problem. I keep hitting water when I want land. What I do, is get my return trajectory so it's coming back to Kerbin just above its atmosphere. Gives me a good amount of Kerbin's circumference to just wing it. I burn retro when I'm around 80-90km, so my trajectory is putting me a good amount past where I want to land, since the atmosphere and the planet's rotation is going to muck that up a bit. You really can't compare how it was done in real life versus this game, especially if you're playing in sandbox. Just plan for enough dV left over for your re-entry. AFAIK there was nothing in the tutorials on how to land where you want. I wanna say MechJeb can do this, but can't guarantee it as I've never messed with any autopiloting mods.
  12. I can speak to GoG - no bloatware or any BS. GoG has a client like Steam called Galaxy, but is completely optional. I run several GoG games and have never installed Galaxy.
  13. Wonder if those laptops have KSP installed.... Also I don't feel bad about the messiness of my server rack anymore.
  14. It took me entirely too long to figure out I could do this. I need... I need to go re-do everything.
  15. I've had a glitch in 1.3.0 where something similar happened. Sometimes, if I had any of the monopropellant tanks disabled, when I re-enabled them in flight, RCS would not work. Re-disabling and then re-enabling the tank again would bring it back.
  16. Netflix must be missing some. Rough ballpark numbers from IMDb: TOS: 80 episodes x 50 minutes each = 4,000 minutes. Animated: 22 episodes x 30 minutes each = 660 minutes. TNG: 176 episodes x 44 minutes each = 7,744 minutes. DS9: 173 episodes x 45 minutes each = 7,785 minutes. Voyager: 170 episodes x 44 minutes each = 7,480 minutes Ugh... Enterprise: 98 episodes x 45 minutes each = 4,410 minutes. 22 Days, 6 hours, 39 minutes to watch all the shows straight no sleep, no wiki reading. Slacker

  18. Last night I installed Extraplanetary Launch Pads. Played with it for about 30 minutes, then had to get to bed. Not sure why I bothered, though, since I spent the next 3 hours staring at the ceiling designing a single launch manufacturing vessel/lander destined for Dres in my head... I should probably take a break from this game at some point.
