  1. Has one been announced? GoG still doesn't have 1.7.0 available for Linux, and I wasn't sure if it was similar to 1.4 where they didn't bother with 1.4.0 since 1.4.1 was right around the corner.
  2. On another note, it got up to ~83*F(28*C) just a few days ago, and this morning I threw a snowball at my wife. No, we didn't travel.
  3. Duh. Which is way preferable to the start of Mr. Kessler's Syndrome.
  4. I went with In-Flight Action Group Editor. Not necessarily highest on my list, but I freaking love AGX, and it's also probably among the more likely to happen, given recent addons like stock dV stuff and now the maneuver node thing.
  5. Well, here's the thing. About that "realism". One, there's no life support in the real game. Two, rockets in the stock game are unrealistically noodly, so I will not, under any circumstances, play without KJR. That said, the only mods I was really using in those screenshots were KJR (duh), KRE, and BDB. The landing legs are from KRE, because the stock landing leg options are offensively limited, and the launch clamps from BDB I just used because I prefer how they look. I'm pretty sure all the other parts were stock + MH. I just have a good amount of plugin based mods that I wouldn't be using for this trip, like FMRS and such. Also would ditch the visuals for this. Seems simple and fun enough. It's nice to play this and have an actual objective.
  6. Played around a bit with this tonight. I honestly don't know why my framerate was SO BAD. I've run much, much more complex ships on lesser hardware. Do certain parts, like habitable parts, need more computations? Or maybe it was the 54 Vectors on the 1st stage. I'll likely run an install with just the mods I need and see if there's much improvement.
  7. Kinda makes sense, according to Tim Dodd, there weren't many people there because of all the delays. That's some pretty nice footage, except for not being able to actually see the landing.
  8. My dad incorrectly answered one of those "omg look at me I'm a genius because I know basic math" things on FB, and now we're having a teaching argument about it.  Apparently, after 62 years on this planet he's never heard of the order of operations.

    He's countering with something about multiplying 1 apple by 2 apples and getting 8 apples.

    I have no idea.

    I can't complain in the complain thread, so I'll do it here now.  Apologies to my followers.

  9. You know, call me crazy, but I'm about only 3% excited about BFR/Starship/Whateveritsnamewillbewhenitlaunches. I was heartbroken when I saw that the F9/FH was to be killed off when that flies, despite understanding all the reasons why. I just hope I can manage to see a RTLS launch before the F9 dies off.
  10. I completely forgot about this thing. I was really worried about that "You know what? I'll just reboot before a manuever." problem, then forgot about it.
  11. Well... I might not be able to see the rocket, but at least I won't have to stay after work or rush home...
  12. That never gets old. I'm so excited for tonight that I may just hang out after work instead of rushing home to miss as little as possible.
  13. Neither of those antennas is a relay antenna. Direct antennas cannot talk to each other, they can only talk to relay antennas or the dishes at the KSC. The antenna actually has to say relay on the description in the VAB. This lists all the stock antennas and if they're a relay or not. https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Parts#Communication
  14. Oh I didn't pay full price, so at least there's that. I don't think I've ever paid full price for a Steam game. Borderlands 3 will ruin that, I'm sure. I did pay full price for KSP off GoG though, and I'd never played it or even watched a video. Just kinda winged it from the xkcd comics and that worked out.
  15. Last week I got a free Vista-era laptop. Pentium T4200, 3GB DDR2, and a 250GB spinnydisk. It's actually rather clean, although it was soooooo slow. Originally Vista, but had been upgraded to Windows 7. Absolute dog, even though there wasn't much installed on it. So I wiped it and through Mint/Mate on, and it ran.. better-ish. Given how it's sluggish, I'm targeting the HDD as the culprit. I snagged a new 120GB SSD for a few bucks, will be putting that in today. I figured I'd also pop the main bottom panel off and have a look at everything and see if it needed to be blown out. This is SO COOL. WHY DON'T THEY MAKE LAPPIES LIKE THIS ANYMORE? The entire CPU heatsink is removable with just 4 screws after the panel is off. Replacing thermal paste and blowing out the fins would be nothing on this machine. Remember when laptop manufacturers actually cared about maintenance? I do. If you're lucky nowadays, you'll get a panel to the storage drive and maybe the ram. So now I'm shopping for a somewhat decent Core 2 Duo to throw in this thing, and I'll get another gig of ram for it. It needs a new battery too (holds literally no charge), but I'm not sure if I'll bother with that. Should make a decent Facebook/whatever machine for someone. Edit: Whelp, so much for that. Even with installing the most current BIOS for this dinosaur, it still won't detect the brand new SSD. Not throwing any more money into this thing. Edit Edit: Thanks to this post page thing, I discovered the alignment problem! Sees the SSD now!
  16. I have more to add to SN, so for now, assuming you have MM installed, just stick the following text into a text editor, and save it somewhere in your GameData folder as whateveryourwant.cfg. The surface attach coordinates was already centered on the part's CoM, so I just replicated it for a node. @PART[HighGainAntenna] { node_stack_top = 0,0,0,0,-1,0,0 @attachRules = 1,1,0,0,1 }
  17. Do you have some context? I've never seen it. Single Stage To Apoapsis maybe? (whatever that would mean...)
