  1. Right now I'm working on the next update, a few more nodes, more parts, and adding in the B9 Part Switching to turn the nodes on and off. Question for you guys though, would you prefer the default condition of the switch to have the nodes on or off?
  2. @Barzon Kerman That looks ideal, since it's individual parts that I may be able to attach stuff like parachutes to, the parts are not loading for me in 1.7.0. @Stone Blue That's nearly exactly what I wanted! Thank you! I was hoping to able to recover the fairings, but that wasn't huge. This should do nicely. Wow.. that's quite a way back. Luckily SAF seems to hit the spot. I couldn't even find a version of KW that was older than 1.1.
  3. I'm trying to find a mod that has pre-set fairing sizes, like how it's done in real life. I want the size of the payloads to be restricted by the inner dimensions of the fairings, and to be forced to launch with a fairing that's hilariously too big for the payload (like Starman). Not having any luck searching. Googling for fixed fairing sizes just brings up threads of the hilarious broken fairing textures a few versions back. Static fairing sizes somehow got me to KWRocketry, which act the same as stock fairings, Procedural Fairings, which is the exact opposite of what I want, and Zero Point Fairings, which despite the Spacedock page listing it as updated for 1.6.1, the parts aren't loading for me in 1.7.0, and it's expressly stated that they don't protect from drag anyway in stock. (Needs FAR or NEAR). So does anyone know of any mod that provides pre-set fairing parts that occlude their payload correctly in stock? The fairing being actual parts that I can attach stuff too would be fantastic. This thing from BDB is pretty close, but I'd like it more like a fairing, not a nose cone.
  4. I think they mean Environmental Visual Enhancements. Which, btw, does NOT take up 13 Gigs or RAM by itself. I've run entire installs with EVE and about 50 other mods take an average of 6-7 total. But that's besides the point. If you mod KSP to the point of taking up 40 Gigs of RAM, the absolute LAST place you place the blame is on the devs of the core game. [snip] Anyone know a GOOD way to quote from multiple pages?
  5. One of mine needs meds every other day... for the rest of his life. He hates it. And he's getting smarter about it. I'm about out of tricks to get it into him. I have bled so much.
  6. Look at the pic above it. That one has white on the edges, which would be all that's visible in the Eve pic. My guess would be that they're changing the look.
  7. I think it would be really handy to have an extended Center Of Thrust line for the purpose of lining up the CoT/CoM. Some kind of visual indicator (like the CoM ball changing color) when they're lined up would be a nice bonus. Something like this: \ Another change to the CoT system I would like to see if for it to show CoT for the first stage ONLY. Not every engine on the craft. I can't tell you how annoying it is to find the CoT of a single stage by adjusting the thrust limiters on everything else. It would be significantly better to simply move the stages around than messing with the limiters on possibly dozens of engines. A "thrust range" taking into account gimble would be pretty sweet too, but that's probably a bit much. Although being able to gimble the engines and watch the CoT change in real time would be incredible.. And yes, I know, I know, I know that all of this is probably capable of being done with mods / has been done already. I think at least the extended CoT would be an appropriate addition to stock.
  8. What's a "good mod"? What do you want the mod to do? You also can't base the compatibility of a mod on what the version in the thread title says. I'm using at least one mod that hasn't been updated since 1.3.1.
  9. I've been seeing that a lot. YouTube wanted me to watch a Falcon Heavy launch live last week.
  10. The closest approach markers (the purple and orange arrows) only show up once your orbits, or your anticipated orbit after a manuever is completed, overlap. Here we have two ships in different orbits. The orbits do not cross, so no makers are present. Here I have a manuever planned to bring the outer ship's orbit down to meet the inner ones. The markers tell me where the closest approaches will be after the engine burn. Here's after I've brought the outer orbit down to meet the inner orbit, so the orange arrows appear. Is that what you're needing?
  11. There was a restaurant in central Wisconsin that we used to frequent as kids, called The Sunshine Inn. They were quite well known for their huge portions at normal prices. Omeletes were all one size, 13 eggs. Pancakes on the kids menu were roughly the size of a birthday cake. A few years before I moved out of state it burned down, and they never re-opened. I miss that place.
  12. There are hypoallergenic cats. I hear a lot of people aren't affected by purebred Bengals (which aren't the easiest to find and can be INSANELY expensive...) This woman appears to have a 24-hour benadryl IV. She might have some pointers.
  13. Welcome aboard, @Lionballs! I'm sure plenty disagree with me, but my recommendation for starting mods is... none. It's true that for a lot of people (including myself), mods make the game better. But I believe that you should get to know the game for what it is, first. A few versions ago I would have recommended a mod or two for beginners. However for what the game is now, I think it's best to play it stock, at least for a few hours. I think it's good to just have a natural sense for what's stock and what's not. Plus this way, you can find for yourself what you feel the game is lacking - and find a mod specifically for that. How I play isn't how you play. If you want recommendations for mods for specific reasons, like "I want mods that help with orbital construction" or "I want warp drive like in Star Trek", I would certainly have specific recommendations then!
  14. I think you guys missed the word "make" as in "forced to do something you didn't want to do"
  15. Seems like it would have been a lot less work to just install the AFBW mod that lets you use a joystick on Linux. Or was that not an option?
  16. I need an office cat. It should be illegal to make someone go 9 1/2 hours without a cat.
  17. I was trying to think of a clever reason, but honestly it's just that when I was trying to see how to disable swapping, I found the tutorial on properly removing the partition, so I did that. And then when I got my nvme SSD and re-installed, I just didn't install a swap partition. For what I do with my computer, if it gets to the point that I'm maxing my RAM, something is wrong. If I'm legit maxing my RAM... I'll buy more.
  18. Highest I ever hit was just shy of 21 gigs. After I updated to 32GB, I actually shut off my swap space... I'm not a fan of swapping.
  19. In the tool bar of the editor, there's an icon that looks like an eye, right next to the smiley face. That will let you create a spoiler.
  20. Wow, only $1,500 for the day with $2-3 per mile. Totally worth it...
