  1. It's not 11, but full story. Tried out the in-flight abort roughly 3 seconds after liftoff. The cabin ejected perfectly fine, and I got to watch the rest of the contraption tumble and fall (No SSs ). I think FMRS killed the SSMEs when I ejected. However, what's really strange, was the thing tumbled back down to the ground, basically landed on its tail, and the SRBs shut off when it touched the ground. Then the capsule touched down. And the SRBs RELIT! I really wish I had more screenies. I should really get another, like, 2TB drive and dedicate it just to screenshots with that auto screenshot mod running like every second. I tried to recreate it, but no dice. The rest of the vessel exploded on contact with the ground, and the capsule ended up destroying the flagpole by landing on it.
  2. 1.3, as a result of xkcd comics. The pie chart is unreadable. Simply too many options.
  3. In stock, you can't really. Anything outside the physics bubble (which is around the ship you're in focus on) will be auto-deleted if it's on a suborbital trajectory when it gets below a certain altitude. Sometimes you can get away with it if your payload is going to a really high orbit, where you have time to switch to the booster and get it landed, then switch back to your upper stage and get your payload to orbit before it crashes down. If you just care about recovering for funds, you'll want: If you want to land it manually after you get your payload to orbit, you'll want:
  4. This was pretty easy, but I had some fun with it anyway. Launch: Did a little throttling down for I guess what could be Max Q? Orbit! Coming home: Re-entry is a little warm, but Jeb managed just fine. "Hey Bill? Where the hell's the landing gear?" It fared about as well as B1055.1 did after tipping over.
  5. For a perfectly circular equatorial orbit... yes it is.
  6. I have an older Dell that doesn't even give you time to plug it back in if the power cord falls out, even if it claims the battery is roughly half charged.
  7. #rideshare I haven't hit the go button yet... kinda scared.
  8. Your desired orbit in meters + 600,000 (Kerbin's radius). 140k km (140,000,000 meters) is actually outside of Kerbin's SOI. Do you just meant 140km? That would be 740,000. Welcome aboard, @Mkle
  9. You're basically telling us not to answer your question, then. With such low end hardware and no off-chip GPU, there's nothing you can really do except lower your graphics settings.
  10. No, but there really needs to be. I can't tell you how many times I've been fine tuning a node when it just up and switches to the orbit selection mode because my stupid ship passed it.
  11. I'd probably look like that too if I had spent over a year in a metal can that's barely bigger than I was.
  12. I didn't care too much when it was 4 am on a Friday. I don't care about being a zombie at work on a Friday. Tuesday though? No thanks.
  13. Well, so much for watching that one live. I ain't getting up at 3 am on a work day.
  14. We need new workstations at work. Not, like, immediately, but these are incredibly dated(Sandy bridge), and with the end of Windows 7 on the horizon, as much as I hate Windows 10, I think it's time. The i5-9400F is looking rather attractive for some decent builds. Unfortunately the company's in a bit of a low point, and I can't really ask for $1,600 to build a matching pair of computers. I guess I'll just have to deal with the constant hard lockups for a bit longer...
  15. I don't suppose it's possible to disable nested spoilers.
  16. Drag at the back, amirite? Especially with that giant opening at the top. Fairly certain that re-launching would rip the interstage to shreds.
  17. Only until they learn how to control it and make it their slave.
  18. Just saw it. They're saying they're not anticipating anything surviving. My condolences to the locals. This has to be devastating.
  19. I had Val pushed down to the center of the Mun once because she walked between two wheels. She did not survive. I had another kerbal flung damn near to orbit because they accidentally touched one. I'm fine with this.
