  1. Yeah you're right, now that I think of it it literally only had a couple of relatively tiny split flaps in that delta wing thing.
  2. I think BFR was still meant to do a flip pretty close to the ground. There's a landing simulation video for it that shows the flip and landing burn start at a high altitude, but that's a simulation of landing on Mars with the thinner atmosphere. Besides, doing the flip maneuver close to the ground is way more efficient, as it maximises the time spent aerodynamically decelerating and minimises time spent burning propellant for a propulsive landing.
  3. It reminds me of the interstage on ITS: Looks like, similarly to that, part of the interstage is on the booster and the other part is on the 2nd stage. Now that I look at it, the shape of the 2nd stage also gives me strong 2017 BFR vibes:
  4. Excellent to see another fully reusable rocket in development. With everyone else shooting for Falcon 9, it's good to see some competition for Starship. Another thing I noticed: that render says the second stage has a single vacuum engine. Unless they have some kind of variable-geometry engine bell, that's propulsive landing out of the window (probably). I wonder what the plan for recovering the second stage is.
  5. Maybe RB1, which could stand for Raptor Boost 1.
  6. Thank the NASASpaceflight guys, not me. I just pasted the link here
  7. Nice overview of what we can expect next from Starship:
  8. Absolutely, multiplayer and broad modding support should allow you to do almost anything you choose ingame.
  9. There are plenty of games centred around violence, but KSP is in a category of its own in the fact that it's about peacefully exploring space. I think it should stick to that, at least in the stock game. There will undoubtedly be weapon mods available.
  10. Looks like we get the NASA livestream for this one, which means 720p
  11. I imagine when fusion power plants are eventually built, there'll be pushback because people hear the word 'nuclear', assume that 'nuclear = bad' and not read into it any more than that.
  12. It entirely depends on how many decimal places you're willing to measure the planet's orbit to.
  13. That looks like the same mockup we saw a couple months ago. Hopefully we can see some actual flight hardware soon.
  14. (Probably Elon time, but exciting to see nonetheless)
  15. This is a test scene, some visual roughness around the edges is to be expected.
