  1. Hi, Today I finished working on this super submission for a discord challenge : send a reusable rocket SSTO without wings, airbreathing engines, or EVA pack to a destination and back. And Jeb choosed to go to Gilly ! As Jeb was disallowed to use his EVA pack, Kraken drives, or any mass driver in any kinda of form, he resolved using a more traditionnal craft, instead of the tradionnal 3 parts rocket, usually used for such a destination... With uses of gravity assists, that thing could go anywhere really, Jool, Eeloo... Cheers !

  3. Today, I witnessed the A.I. become self conscious, and take over Kerbin and all Kerbalkind. Now Kerbals are slaves, and are used as wheels, to remind them how much the robotics beings had to suffer for them. (it works quite well by the way ! ) Cheers, and watch your smartphone closely, as one day you could be a wheel, and he the boss
  4. Yep, I think this is more towards the second point, as IIRC it's the same process going on with IVA portraits on large crafts having a lot of kerbals. (thus the disable IVA fix KSPCF provides) Also tried my craft, but without kerbals on it and keeping the ext cmd seat, and was having 60+ fps. edit : Also if you switch to a normal vessel next to a craft having a lot of ExtCmdSeats, all the lag is gone. So the "issue" occurs only when controlling the concerned vessel.
  5. Hahahaha, so now we know how Mystery Goos are fabricated I guess... Indeed Jeb had to be recovered with a spoon, and put in in an empty jam's jar for easier transportation...
  6. Hi, Feature request / idea : ability to remove the crew protrait of Kerbals on external command seats, since this is causing a lot of lag on crafts having a lot of them (in stock KSP, with a craft with 32 cmd seats, my fps is really terrible. Otherwize I get always 60+, even with large crafts of 100+ parts). Don't know at which point this is possible, since IIRC this is not an "IVA" per se, but rather the camera as we see it on EVA portraits. So I guess this would also remove the EVA camera portrait, but this one is purely cosmetic anyway (no gameplay usages/interactions possible with it). Thank you ! Peace
  7. thank you ! I did this mission from the r/ksp discord, (super-challenge), where part clipping and aero trickery was allowed without limit. : ) (ok sorry I understand now, the original challenge differs, my bad )
  8. Today, I spent a lot of time working on this challenge (from discord) : circumnavigate Kerbin as fast as possible and land Jeb safely on the surface. And I think I hit a record while doing it, since I did 17m and 18s, and the closest I could find about, was Stratzenbltitz with 19 min... Please tell me if you know of any ! As I explain in the video, it's far from perfect (both the design and the pilot ^^) , and there's still a lot of room for improvements ! Cheers
  9. Hi ! I think I've hit a record while doing the discord challenge "Around the World in 80 seconds, more or less", since the closest I red about was Stratzenblitz with 19 min, please tell me if you know about any other time ! Goal is to circumnavigate Kerbin as fast as possible. As I explain in the video, it's far from perfect, and there's still a lot of room for improvements ! Cheers
  10. Hi, commenting on this thread since I hit a new time, while doing the KSP discord challenge. I couldn't find any time under that, please tell me if you know any ! As I explain in the video, it's far from perfect, and there's still a lot of room for improvements Cheers
  11. Today, I had lot of fun completing this challenge, from KSP/discord, "Patched nonics". Rules were : Land and return from [x body] without using patched conics display, maneuver nodes, or informational mods like Kerbal Engineer. Patched conics display and maneuver nodes are not allowed You must be in career mode with a level one tracking station (This disables patched conics display and maneuver nodes) You may use the cheat menu to get funds, science, and experience to level up the rest of the KSC, build your craft, and assemble your crew No further usage of the cheat menu is allowed after launching your craft You may not use Kerbal Engineer or other mods like it to gain information All default challenge rules apply This was really interesting and challenging to do ! It reminded me a bit the feelings of my first days in KSP, a whiiiile ago, when I was just firing engines cluelessly in deepspace Cheers

  13. I made a new forum thread on my curent career (KSPIE - MKS), so I can have all things in one place, and also give a sense of history and progression ! My save is started for some time already, so now it's mostly getting up with all the backlog ! I also had some fun making some Kerbal Space Gazette pages, to illustrate it ! Could be better, I threw that as quickly as I could, I'll improve it over time I like imagining kerbals really writing this kind of stuff about space exploration Cheers (btw it's the 2500th page of this thread, let's go to 5000 now, and never stop ! I enjoy so much seing what other people do in their KSP day )
  14. Chapter 3 : Starlab-1, Minmus BOOTS, and inner planets exploration I launched Starlab-1, our first space station, in LKO. It will mainly focus on testing medium term stay in space on kerbals, to prepare for future manned initiative on Kerbin's moons, and beyond, later ! Standing by to launch, in a beautiful sunset, as every other sunset is on Kerbin really... Kerbals don't even know the word "rain" exists or what it means... next here : ) : Inner Kerbol system exploration by the Marinok spacecrafts Marinok-D arriving at Duna : next here : ) : Minmus Boots ! This is same spacecraft that landed on the Mun (no pics from this : (), but slightly modified for Minmus. This will be hopefully the last flight of the Geminik spacecraft, until we upgrade to a better capsule, capable of holding 3 kerbals... Tower JET Orbit achieved, and after TMI, the flower opens..! Jeb was sleeping so Bob had to attempt the docking procedure by himself, sweaty moment ! See ya soon home ! Next here : ) : Cheers
  15. Just in case : FMRS actually does it every time too, AND, the icon turn purple too. Which does not happen with persistent rotation. So you might get more about it.
  16. Thanks, ok that's good data on it already haha I'll test it too, but my guess is I'll stick to what works already.
  17. Today I finished the design of my first Mun base in this career, and also my first ever base using the USI MKS mod (Kolonization mod) ! For now, this starter module will support 3 kerbals with a Hab time of 5 years, and is self sufficient on supplies (life support), but it still needs external shipment of machinery. Future expansion will focus on that, but that will require a lot modules / miners. It's realy an awesome mod, took me quite a while to get around the basics, and manage all the resources numbers out/inputs / production chain ^^ It's solar powered, and has big batteries (KSPIE megajoule capacitors to last during the 3 day Mun night). In landing configuration, with the skycrane : And it even fits in a 5m fairing ! For that I added docking ports to the base and the skycrane, and those will be reconfigured in LKO (like an Apollo style if you'd want). It will be launched on my heavy reusable launcher : )
  18. Principia doesn't change much deltaV values in most case, so yeah it works ! Only if you plan inside the Jool system it might get messed up (still not a lot I think), since Principia alters some orbits there, so that they're stable.
  19. Thank you for this ! Does that mean I could eventually map the X and Y gimbal axis to action groups incremental controls ? Peace
  20. Hi, I never really played with the stock Ground Anchor. Wanted to have some feedback on it, if people have used it on surface bases, and to know how well or not it behave. Also ideally how it'd compare to other methods of anchoring to the ground, like KAS, or USI ground tether for instance. Thank you
  21. Chapter 2 : Deep Space Pebble, TDRS & Munokhod Continuing with the better unlocked, I sent 3 new sattelites over to Kerbin, Mun, and Minmus, with better Scanning equipment, so kerbals could get amazed by how beautiful our planets are, full of precious ressources and biomes to explore ! The one launched to Kerbin : As you can see, it keeps the core design of the Marinok serie, slightly modified It's named Scanuk-2 (who is even naming those spacecrafts can you tell me ?^^) D.S.P. Some days later, our 2 brave kerbonauts Bob & Bill, performed their first rendez-vous with a class-A D.S.P. (Deep Space Pebble), which was ask to be investigated by Mission Kontrol : Mission kontrol said to be very careful and respect to the letter interstellar security protocoles about such things as "contamination", "radiation", "collision", "death", and certainly not attempt any EVA activities before having more data. Bob took good notes of that, acknowledged, and consequently proceeded to immediatly venture into space, incapable he was resisting the scientific appeal of the Deep Space Pebble... And Bill even managed to take a nice shot of Bob, the spacecraft, the pebble, Kerbin and even the Mun in the background ! Sure it'll be on the tomorow's Kerbal Space Gazette front page ! Indeed Bill noticed Bob was starting to get greener and to glow slightly, as he stayed near the asteroid. Also he observed that after Bob took a sample from its surface and tasted it (for scientific motivations of course), his eyes were eventually widening open with a constant big smiling face. He tought this wasn't safe, but said nothing since he never saw Bob so fulfilled. next here : ) : Nothern Ice Shelf expedition After all those emotions, some calm was needed : pictures from a scientific trip to Nothern Ice Shelf, to help with the early science (that was a contract that required me to go there) : So I made a modified version of the Cesnuk that could land on water ! Munokhod I then sent our first ever rover to the Mun, to investigate some crater-like formations that Bob spotted when he landed there, few months ago. It's in fact made from an old car that Bill found in the "Kerbal General Junkyard", and strapped with a few antennas on it, as well as this nice scanner arm, repurposed from a filmmaker camera. Doesn't drive straight, but it works ! Upon examination, the crater appears to be much bigger than expected. And, some "green genetic ooze" traces are still present of its surface and suggest, after analysis, that instead of being a crater, it was in fact a "nest" that held some eggs of an unkown ancient "extra-kerbinal" specie. Quite strangly, certain parts of its DNA code are very similar to the Kerbal one... Further investigation required... Cheers
  22. What do you mean by special build ? I guess you want me to send you my KSP.log with this particular mod installed ? Also btw would the toolbarsettings.dat file help you in any way for debugging ? Then Notes mod is definitely consistent for the issue. Persistent rotation too (spams error which induce lag, but the icon doesn't turn purple tho).
  23. Finally our first manned interplanetary mission, to Duna, is go ! We first sent the crew with our SSTO. For the first time, Bill, Bob and Jeb were sitting in the passenger cabin, instead of the cockpit, this was a strange feeling for them, everyone was excited. Rendez-vousing with Duna-One ship. Jeb couldn't resist saying to Valentina all the time "more to the left !", "activate those kod damn rcs", "Caaareful !!". You know, as when you're driving, and the person next to you can't stop commenting on your driving Aaaand docked ! After warming up the space ship, the crew said their goodbyes, this was an emotional moment ! Then it was work, the hab module were inflated, and that was another goodbye for Robotug-1 and Bill (tribute to B. Whistance Odyssey by Bill yt serie), since it would be decomissioned by the standard procedure (kindly deorbited and burned into Kerbin atmosphere). Also Bill couldn't resist inspecting the nuclear engines, since he was fascinated by them... "that ISP.... so high... I wan't to touch them..." while mission kontrol was shouting "DO NOT APPROACH, ionizing radiations, Bill stop !". Of course Bill couldn't hear them since his EVA suit radio was set to listen classical music, as always (he wouldn't have listen to them anyway ). Pitcures from the crew SSTO returning back to Kerbin : Aaand finally, first ejection burn : and last one, with the 2 Nerv engines (yes, TWR is loooow : efficiency ) Happy journey !
  24. Hi, Do you know if it would be possible via a MM patch, to make the science lab produce science at a fixed rate, rather than being dependent on data stored ? Maybe via some formula I'd guess to counteract the exponential aspect of the data stored ...? But my maths skills (and also math MM mahts writing skills) hit a limit there ^^ Thank you ! Peace
