  1. Terrific! Worth including the high resolution screenshot game config setting. That's pretty essential to get those clean looking lines. Also key is a half decent graphics programme that can rescale and compress images without diminishing quality is worthwhile - something like GIMP for example (it's free). It would be handy to get some tips on taking good screenshots too - there's technical tips like using alt+scroll wheel to reduce FoV and give that 'camera lens' look; hold middle mouse button to move the camera around; and Easy Vessel Switch mod which adds a handy shortcut key for switching camera focus quickly. The final artistic flare that makes a good screenshot great is beyond my capability - things like knowing what angle to position the light, and how to arrange subject/object/background.
  2. Indeed the Saturn V-D is truly a bonkers rocket. The best part is the engines were meant to be recoverable. No idea how.
  3. Nice - looking forward to the update. Am I the only one that uses TAC LS a lot for the sole reason that I get to use US2 parts with it? Still having that random problem that many have reported with the Probe Core acting weird. I'm guessing it's a mod conflict but I there's nothing evident in the logs. Seems to happen when you detach a US2 Probe Core from another parent probe core (e.g. satellite off a Centaur)
  4. I've been using all your mods in my latest game - I had to tweak things a bit with MM to support TAC LS and added some more things like EL support but the basic models are still terrific. Still trying to figure out the best way of linking up the DSSHU parts though...
  5. BDB Dev version has a DCSS, so I'm claiming it as close enough! The rest is also tweakscaled ReStock and Cryo Engines for the RS-68.
  6. That's only about half of the rockets you can build with BDB! The C8 first stage is built using ReStock tanks and procedural fairings, the rest is regular BDB Saturn parts with a little tweakscaling to get the scales right. I've not used FASA but it would be nice to have a proper engine fairing for the Nova.
  7. Zorg did a reasonable kit bash of H-II. I've documented it here for posterity
  8. I was inspired by @MotokiKuN to follow Master Kerbalnaut's tutorial and pressed some buttons in GIMP. It's WIP but looks cool and I just may have to do a bunch of blueprints for the wiki...
  9. Correct. In case it helps, this is a summary (taken from Astronautix). With a bit of rounding and KSP Scaling, you basically only need 4 different MLV extended tanks as highlighted to cover all the variants. The numbers are the real world extensions to the standard tank sizes (not BDB Sarnus Scales). I'm not sure how increased structural strength translates in KSP game terms - is it strictly necessary or will it just create more parts for the sake of it? MS-IVB-1A and MS-IVB-2 are are near enough to the same length after scaling, and so are the MS-II-1A and MS-II-2 for that matter, so that just leaves the slightly shorter MS-II-1. 10. @Pappystein have a Saturn V-4-260. The NFLV nose cones go rather well. And for good measure, a Saturn V-24(L) And because it's you, I updated the MLV wiki page. I've not bothered to add every variation on the theme, but picked the ones that are markedly different for interest's sake. I'll add some more pics in a bit.
  11. While you're about it can you check the node attach points on the flat bulkhead variants. I think they're off by some way if I recall correctly. I want to update the Saturn MLV page on the wiki a bit and make it clearer how to build the different stage variants. There's precious little info around but I'll give it a stab and you can let me know if it chimes with your understanding.
  12. https://github.com/friznit/Unofficial-BDB-Wiki/wiki/Saturn-MLV See also Saturn II and C series on there. It doesn't cover every single proposal ever but at least gives a flavour for some of the more significant variations.
  13. Importing custom configs doesn't work yet. TWG is working on a fix.
  14. Could you outline for those who don't do maths what the reasoning and implications are for this change, and how the engines now compare to stock/other mods? As I understand it, the 25% scaling is more balanced to real life engine instead of stock KSP (which tends to be overpowered). The impact is that upper stage engines will be significantly less powerful, so you will need more engines for a given payload and/or aim for a higher final orbits, given that low thrust will make circularising in low orbit more challenging.
  15. Officially unofficial! It's also so I can legitimately claim ignorance for any glaring errors While it's not practicable to make a detailed build guide for every BDB rocket and variant (there are hundreds of them!), do please let me know if there are any specific improvements you would like to see, especially for those who are less familiar with the NASA rocket families. After all, it started with me taking notes on NASA rockets to learn how to put BDB parts together properly so a key principle is that it should be clear set of 'lego' instructions
  16. I'm not going to do a build guide for every rocket variant! It's simply not practical. Besides, half the enjoyment is figuring out how to put the rockets together. The basic build guide should be enough to get you started in the right direction. If that's really not your thing, there are plenty of BDB craft files on KerbalX that you can download.
  17. I generally pick a variant with the most parts for the main build image, since in many cases you can then just remove bits for the other variants. Did you have anything specific in mind?
