You could crash it, and get science with the thermometers in Duna’s different levels of atmosphere if you haven’t already. The tricky part is the transmit it quick enough and make sure you have connection to the KSC. -

Since the first planes evolved, kerbals always wanted to ride them without flying them. Then, they were able too with the airliner. But ever since the founding of the Kerbal Space Center, kerbals have wanted to go to space without all the training. Well, let’s see if they can! CHALLENGE- Build 1 (or many) passenger SSTO’s that fit with the rules, categories, and qualifications. RULES- The craft must be an SSTO that takes off from the runway and lands on a runway (doesn’t need to be KSC, modded runways allowed). The craft must have pilot(s) and flight attendants unless stated. The craft must be able to land on and return from the destination. No mods or DLC’s involved in the craft. MechJeb autopilot not allowed, though orbital information and planners are allowed. Visual and informational mods allowed. No cheating with hyperedit, debug menu, etc. Craft must be of your own design. Please post the craft launch cost (cost displayed in SPH minus amount gained in recovery). When posting, please put your: company name, type of category, launch cost, passenger/crew/pilot count, and Delta V amount. Also include at least 3 pictures proving the functionality of the craft. CATEGORIES- Private SpaceLiner: 2-6 passenger capacity, 1 crew, 1-2 pilots. Destinations- Mun, Minmus, Gilly, Ike. Small SpaceLiner- 12-36 passenger capacity, 2 crew, 2-3 pilots. Destinations- Mun, Minmus, Gilly, Ike, Duna, Dres. Medium SpaceLiner- 37-55 passenger capacity, 3-4 crew, 2-3 pilots. Destinations- Mun, Minmus, Gilly, Ike, Duna, Dres, Eeloo. Large SpaceLiner- 56-125 passenger capacity, 5-7 crew, 3-4 pilots. Destinations- Mun, Minmus, Gilly, Ike, Duna, Dres, Eeloo, Pol, Bop, Val. Huge SpaceLiner- 125-250 passengers, 6-10 crew, 4 pilots. Destinations- Mun, Minmus, Gilly, Ike, Duna, Dres, Eeloo, Pol, Bop, Val, Laythe, Tylo, Moho. Super SpaceLiner- 250+ passenger capacity, 12-30 crew, 4-7 pilots. Destinations- Mun, Minmus, Gilly, Ike, Duna, Dres, Eeloo, Pol, Bop, Val, Laythe, Tylo, Moho, and Eve (if you dare). ADDED NOTES: The stated destinations does not mean you can only visit those places. As an example, you can take a private SpaceLiner to Ike, refuel, go to Duna, back to Ike, refuel, and go home as if they are connection flights. When I see a craft that catches my eye, I will ask for further details and/or craft file. If it is up the the highest standards, then it will go onto the Best SpaceLiners Leaderboard. The craft is entirely stock, and it wasn’t too stable of a landing. To avoid the cabin heating up, i had to eep gently pitching up and down. I accidentally Pitched up too far at about 20k up, and Bill passed out. Val had to keep the craft under control until 5k altitude when Bill woke up again. He asked Valentina to keep it a secret, but I found out. Also, if you need I can post another 1 or 2 pictures with the UI up, though I’m not sure how many of those I have.

The point of the challenge is to have fun doing it and completing it. You can complete it as many times as you want to, whether it’s once, or maybe 5 times. I count every entry so people can have the option to say to themselves “I don’t think I can get #1, but I can definitely get #3”. To @Aetharan specifically, you don’t have to be proud of having 4 out of 5 spots, but I am impressed, and it wouldn’t be fair to include some entries but not all. -

I would also like to see some sort of science experiment where you can scan for bacteria in samples, or another way to see if there is microbial life where you're visiting. -

I want a lot of things, but the main ones: A command module for 2 kerbals, not a bulky lander can One new planet, or an extra moon/similar feature to an existing planet. Possibly a gas giant slightly smaller that Jool, but with a ring of asteroids and a few moons (3?) New facility. When in science or career mode, there are 2 sections in the R&D facility. There is the tech tree, showing all parts unlocked, and the archives, showing every science report you have done. It would be cool to see a new facility named The Archives, where you can see all your science reports and what they said. -

Apologies for not updating this, I was recently on a 3 week trip around Australia, and then completely forgot about this. But now I remembered about this, and took a look through the entries. Excelent work to everyone, I will definitely have to do this again. Thanks for all the feedback, can't wait for more entries! And Aetharan, I will accept your craft because it does take off from the launchpad and does fly like a rocket. -

For some reason, I can't heft the parts that can be deployed to deploy. I can't in he VAB, SPH, runway, or Minmus. Any help please? -

Quick question. I landed a base on Minmus, and I am trying to deploy the mk2 habitat module and the lab, but it will not give me the option to. Does anyone have an answer? Thanks in advance! -
