Stranding because of landing legs
Kerminator K-100 replied to Crazy Kerbal 's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
That sucks but... this is the KSP2 forums Good luck getting them back. Just land someone else next to them and take everyone home. And be happy you don't play with Kerbalism -
The Spacesuit exchange thread!
Kerminator K-100 replied to VoidCosmos's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
In game. You have to change people to your suit and EVA them. -
Do you know if this works in KSP 1.11? I would test it myself but I'm a little too busy at the moment and my KSP install is really modded.

The "build your way home" challenge
Kerminator K-100 replied to dnbattley's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I feel like this is impossible with the stock weight restrictions. Maybe KIS would be a better challenge? -
No worries, if you did have them I would just say so in your leaderboard rank. @name - velocity- (DLC) .vs. @name - velocity

I'm impressed. I may need to make a whole new badge just for your record. Only one thing, I forgot to add this but I would prefer the NavBall to be in surface mode. This won't affect you, I'll just subtract out Kerbin's orbital rotation velocity. Your record will still be ridiculously fast. I feel like this badge is slightly inadequate for your record but here you go. Congratulations! EDIT: Just to clairify, you didn't use any DLCs, right?

While this version of the challenge is over, @Jeb-head-mug kerman has allowed me to take over and make my own reboot. @camacju , if you would like to repost on the new thread, I would be happy to give you a badge and leaderboard position. Here is the new challenge thread for anyone looking for it:

This is a reboot of the original challenge made by @Jeb-head-mug kerman This challenge has changed many times in the 3 (now 4) reboots that it has had. I'm going to add a bit of my own flavor to it. The general rules will stay the same though. The Goal: The goal is simple. Build a plane that will go hypersonic. What is hypersonic? Well here is what the last thread said: So pretty much the goal is to get over 3000 m/s. In atmosphere and under 50 km. Some basic rules: No mods No cheats DLCs are ok No editing .cfg files All records must be while the craft is under 50 km. The apoapsis does not need to be sub 50 km. Switch your Navball to surface velocity, not orbital. (Not a disqualifying rule, just quality of life for me) Reentry heating must be at 100%. You can go above that but any less is not allowed. Leaderboard: Highest speed - Manned: @ColdJ 4043 m/s @Philae_Rosetta2021 3861 m/s @visor2580 3301.8 m/s @percyPrune 3228.1 m/s (Landed afterwards) Highest speed - Unmanned: @camacju 25606.46 m/s @Kerminator K-100 6252 m/s @ColdJ 4334 m/s @chadgaskerman 3067.27 m/s (Water landing afterwards) Waverider leaderboard: @camacju 25606.46 m/s Hermes leaderboard: @ColdJ 4043 m/s @Philae_Rosetta2021 3861 m/s @visor2580 3301.8 m/s @percyPrune 3228.1 m/s (Landed afterwards) Glider leaderboard: @chadgaskerman 3067.27 m/s (Water landing afterwards) Ballistic leaderboard: @Kerminator K-100 6252 m/s @ColdJ 4334 m/s You can complete the challenge in multiple classes, detailed below: Waverider: Hermes: Glider: Ballistic: Badges: Yes the part you've all been waiting for, the badges! They have been updated from the original and there are more now. Completing the challenge: 3500 m/s: 4000 m/s: 5000 + m/s: How to submit: Plenty of pictures or a video. Follow all rules Picture of your record and proof that you are under 50km

That new mars game seems to be claiming to be a KSP-like game. My personal thoughts about the kerbals are that they are there to make the game connectable. I have a very hard time connecting to a robot probe but Jeb's awe at Jool makes me feel an emotional attachment to Jeb. If I were there I would be staring in awe too. But a probe in orbit will just click and hum and do exactly what it is told to do. Not very exciting or relatable. No game is like KSP because of the kerbals. All the other games focus on the rocketry aspect not the human/kerbal aspect. And the reason humans aren't there are because it doesn't work as well. I would always feel a kind of love for kerbals but if that was a human it would just feel weird. The kerbals embody the best parts of humanity too. They constantly feel the need to explore and discover. Their goofy nature makes me feel excited to be working along side them. They don't hate, they don't fight, they don't discriminate, they just are passionately excited to exist. If the Kerbals ever invented an internet, they would probably just talk about snacks and space all day. No trolls and no hate. Who wouldn't want to be a Kerbal?

I just made a complete list of all Kerbalism processes and resouces (if I missed any, please let me know) Here is the link for the doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jFIKDgSt7dw9SdGXqq892OFFaGEBCa-w1jcIIAIJG_A/edit?usp=sharing Or the PDF Or as a spoiler: Feel free to download and print off for reference.

Dances and Idle Animations
Kerminator K-100 replied to starcaptain's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Your profile picture is cursed Also why not? Inappropriateness? -
I think people forget this fact when talking about KSP2. There isn't a good way to add IAP because KSP isn't set up that way. The only thing I can think of is buying money, reputation, or science. Maybe reviving a kerbal or refreshing contracts. As a game dev myself, I can say that you can set a date but suddenly realize that this feature isn't going to work or that its much more work than you thought it would be or that a core mechanic is faulty, pushing release dates back.

I'm @Kerminator K-100 and I am addicted to mods. KSP has an amazing community of modders who are all brilliant and never fail to come out with amazing mods. And the mods are all free! Last time I checked CKAN had about 3000 mods total and there are more on the forums, github, spacedock, and curseforge. But when I see a mod that looks cool, I instantly download it. But the mods do have a price. Cluttered part lists, ridiculous loadtimes, paralyzing amounts of options and features to keep track of. And also when an update comes out, I can either remove all mods and risk the kraken's wrath or update and pray, and risk the kraken's wrath. I've found that there are cycles to modding my game. When a new update comes out, I trim my list to a few essential mods. But as more are updated my list balloons again, increasing loading times to unbearable amounts. So I've come up with a simple questionnaire for you to ask yourself next time you see that amazing new mod that will solve every problem, or if you want to trim your mod list and can't decide what to get rid of. How often do I complain about this problem? For example a part mod: Do you find yourself saying randomly, if only I had a Starship replica to go to Jool, it would make life so much simpler. How often do you actually do what the mod is supposed to fix? Mech-Jeb is one of my essential mods because I use it to auto-dock. I rendezvous and dock all the time so to me Mech-Jeb is worth it. If you do decide to install the mod, ask yourself, how often do I use this mod? It will vary for each person but you need to set a benchmark for how frequently you need to use a mod, or else its just deadweight. For example I used KIS twice when I first got it. Once to fix a broken spaceship, and once to build a space station. The rest of the time it just sat in my Game Data folder, taking up RAM. So I removed it. However when I started wishing that I could build ships and rovers, I decided to reinstall it. I hope this guide helps you cure your mod addiction and saves your computer from being choked with mods. Please note this is not an attack on modders, you guys are amazing! If you want please comment how many mods you usually play with or just your tips on how to cut back on excessive modding.

I have never gone past Duna, yet consider myself a KSP expert.

Pol is cursed and so is Bop. Both are evil. Slowly Pol and Bop slip around Laythe, keeping an eye out for pesky kerbals looking to make a base.
