  1. I disagree. Usually by then the other craft falls into the death zone, but there isn't a distance away from the active craft that everything else in-atmo disappears.
  2. Unfortunately, I'm having a really nasty bug with the Mars system: So I probably won't do the Mars missions soon. I reported the bug, but I don't think the developers are still working on it, but I may be wrong. Once this gets fixed, I probably will pick this up again.
  3. There's a "death zone" there for non-player-controlled craft. This is to prevent suborbital "orbits." Mods such as FMRS let you jump back in time to recover boosters:
  4. 1.9.x means any version with a 1.9 root, so 1.9.0, 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.9.3, etc. This applies to pretty much any program with version numbers.
  5. Ions are also an efficient method of getting way more dV, but you have to deal with the low TWR.
  6. Darn, got ninja'd This is a winglet: And a split-tip: As far as I know they are meant to recover some of the wingtip vortices' energy, increase the aspect ratio of the wing, and make the aircraft easier to handle.
  7. I'm willing to try and make configs for Real Solar System, but I don't know where to start. Can somebody give me some get-me-started tips? Thanks.
  8. The problem is that only airbreathing engines are allowed. This is to prevent simple BG turboprop designs from easily completing the challenge. I've gotten about 3/4 of the way around using a RAPIER-powered plane, but with some more patience, I'm sure this challenge can be completed.
  9. Yeah, servos have way higher torque. Even then, wing changes are really unstable for me, as the stock joints are absurdly weak. KJR fixes most of those problems though.
  10. I'm not sure I would want to work at a kraken-infested job center...
  11. Photon torpedoes ready on your mark...
  12. Well, I guess that makes sense. I mean, they've been making them for ages now; the operators must have enough now. Add the pandemic to that...
  13. I've experienced this in 2 ways: 1) If it's changing the FOV, just press ALT and scroll for a bit, then it fixes it. 2) If that doesn't work, I don't know how to fix it. I've had this exact problem before and the only solution I found was to reinstall KSP. Try "Clear Input Locks" in the ALT-F12 menu, but it didn't work for me.
  14. Yes, but it's really costly. TLI is nowhere near the ascending/descending node, so inclination changes are weird. Keep on doing what you're doing.
  15. Well, it's close. The fairing isn't reused, but I plan to change that in the future.
  16. Wait, WHAT!?! But it's an awesome plane! Why?
  17. Boeing, isn't it? EDIT: Yeah, I see the logo on the front.
  18. Refueling depot! A simple 2 module station was planned and launched: Not enough payload capacity? MOAR! Yes, a six-booster version. Unfortunately, this thing has about 700 parts, and with all the visual things, it was completely lagging my computer, and I wasn't able to take photos of the booster recovery. All but 1 booster landed safely. It took me several reloads to get the next 2 photos: Fairing deploy: Core sep: Orbit: Payload deployment: Core recovery: And for some reason the landing legs got busted again. Strange. Upper stage recovery: Crew module launch: Booster sep: Core sep and fairing deployment (pardon the visual bugs): Orbit: Rendezvous burn: Approaching: Payload deployment: Nice shot of the 3 craft: Docked: Completed! I'm not sure what I'll do next. Next update should be sometime this week. Once again, if you can't see the photos, please post with your browser and OS information so I can track down the problem. Thanks for reading!
  19. Welcome to the fora. I think there's already a mod for what you want, but I've never used it:
  20. X3: Terran Conflict is old, but awesome. However, the learning curve is really steep, it's probably steeper than KSP's. Once you know how to play though, it's amazing. One of the best economic+combat games I've played.
