  1. After 2 years of absence from the game I re-acquainted myself with an old friend, the Mun. I made Jeb land a craft onto the surface. Of course, now he's stranded there. I should've figured it wouldn't be as easy as slapping lander legs on my Mun-orbiter and calling it a day...
  2. Your pretty much right. In the years of playing KSP, I've come to believe that rockets don't become much bigger once you leave Kerbin. A manned munshot rocket only needs a little extra fuel tank to make it interplanetary. The low dV requirements of outer space make it so.
  3. Landing legs made from decouplers (my favorite) or AV-R8 Winglets because you had to.
  4. I myself have a 3dconnection Space Navigator for which I can confirm works with the current version of KSP on my computer. For this I installed only the latest official driver. I know there are some other 3rd party drivers which enable you to map the 3d mouse axes like a normal joystick, but these can give compatibility issues.
  5. Is it an old device? Because it sounds to me as a dirty old potentiometer. You could try to use one of the other axes (the red or blue one) to see if the problem is also present on those.
  6. Along with a certain altitude, another requirement that accompanies the request is you being either below or above said altitude. It's easy to forget this after going, say, above a given altitude for a certain number of waypoints. This extra requirement can even be different per waypoint in the same contract. For instance, when you need to take a crew report for 3 destinations, 2 can be above 8km, 1 waypoint is below 7km. Check the contract to the letter.
  7. Could you provide a screenshot? It would make it easier for us to help. Are you using a probe-core? Some can't use SAS. Are the solar panels (small?) delivering enough electricity for the (big?) SAS? Look at the detailed fuel panel on the right to find out.
  8. Oude topic, maar toch handig en leuk om te zien dat "oude bekenden" van het forum toch "stiekem" Nederlands, Belgisch of Zuid-Afrikaans blijken te zijn!
  9. While cycling to work I say a little baby gull. It was making cute sounds. These kind of things always make my day! As annoying the adult gulls are, my heart melts when I see the little ones. The breeding season is almost over here, but there are always some latecomers. I don't mind...
  10. When I hear your problem, 2 things come to mind. If you've used some trimming (alt + attitude keys), the SAS will act accordingly. You can easily press the alt button accidentally while making maneuvers. Also, if you have a controller plugged in, a slight miscalibration or "loose sticks" can also cause unexpected thrusting.
  11. But but, why would you take away the challenge fun of doing this manually?
  12. I'm betting Squad will expand the usage of the new inventory system that we saw introduced in the last update. It's in there now, but not fully exploited yet. There's some more potential there.
  13. These days it's Final Fantasy VIII on the PSP. I've never finished it. For the record, I've started this game about 5 times, but now I'm further than ever before. I must persevere! Does anyone sometimes have the same problem of starting a game over and over again without finishing it?
  14. Hmm, I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. If you see your dad sleeping, he can't be waking up. On a slightly related note. Lately, during the day, I'm remembering dreams I've had years ago that I've never been able to recall before. What does that mean and why only now?
  15. Welcome Cosmo! 5thHorseman is right about the changes in KSP. For instance, the parts have been balanced and re-balanced a lot of times, so some old favorite parts of yours may work differently now than you'll remember. And for sure, making crafts more pretty is easier now!
  16. Hi ISOREX_ and welcome to the forums and this wonderful game! I'm a bit ashamed to say this but, I've never been farther than the Mün myself and I've played KSP since 0.13.3. Still, I do have a lot of experience with planes of any kind and try to help people build/fly theirs. All I'm saying is, there's always someone that has more experience in something than you but, that shouldn't stop you from playing KSP how you want or how fast to progress. One things is for certain. You will get better, learn a lot and develop your own building style. I'm curious to see what you'll create!
  17. Hi and welcome! I myself am a KSP PC player, but a quick search turned up this picture below: If I'm understanding this correctly, it's a bit confusing, you'd need a quick tap on the Y button.
  18. Yeah these are the fun missions! If I'm not sure I can accomplish all of them, I just do the one or few contracts I know I can do and see if I can tackle some more while I'm performing them. If I'm convinced the craft can do it, I'll accept the extra contract(s) and return to the mission.
  19. You might be better served in the long run to use the "rate of ascent/descent indicator" to the right of the altimeter. Just keep the hand between 0 and -5 for a smooth landing. Almost every plane has a different "angle of attack" to fly level or make a landing. The throttle is even more of a factor in this, as you may already know, a lower setting needs a higher angle of attack. But using the rate indicator is always reliable. The fun and challenge of flying in IVA is certainly undeniable!
  20. I'm a big plane-nut, but rockets is where it's at for me in KSP. While I love planes the most, I use them mainly as a means to further my career in rocketry. Local science gathering on Kerbin is what I use them for, but they are a hassle to design well compared to a rocket. And, like most said, rockets get to space in a faster and more efficient way. All these things together means they are quite time-consuming in every respect and my playtime is limited. I still want to create an SSTO for kicks though... Edit: Now that I think about it. The title says: "Do You Prefer Rockets or Planes More in KSP?" but the poll asks if you like building rockets or planes more, which have 2 different meanings. But my post still answers both. For a KSP career and general space fairing, rockets. Building-wise I'd say it's planes, for the challenge.
  21. Yeah I agree this DLC is pretty cool! The new DLC has managed to bring me back to KSP from a long hiatus. As an analog control fan, the way Robotics can be directly controlled in Breaking Ground is exactly how I always wanted it, but missed with the Infernal Robotics mod.
  22. Hi everyone! Though I'm not new here, I have been away for some time. I checked my last post and it was from a little over 2 years ago! I'm not sure why that hapened, life I guess. I did get married, so there's that! Perhaps a bit about myself. I like Sci-fi and technology in general. Like most here I'll bet! I'm especially fond of controls and cockpits, so I would still like to build a KSP controller with all the bells and whistles. I've saved up a lot of electronics and hardware, so I must stop making excuses for myself and just build it! On the forum I don't post a lot, but I do try to be helpfull when I do. There's a lot more I want to say (who would've thought?), but I'll do that in the relevant threads. See you in space!
  23. Does Windows itself recognise your controller? In other words, does the Arduino advertise all the axes properly?
  24. Well this came as a surprise to me! Take-Two is an industry veteran and currently has a market value that's better than it's even been (if the stock market is anything to go by). So I'm curious to see what this combination can do for KSP! Oh, and since Take-Two has a history of distributing peripherals.....OFFICIAL KSP CONTROLLER!!
  25. I'm glad that those developers landed a nice job again! Though Valve employing most ex-squad members and modders, you'd think that Valve's got an ulterior motive... A spaceprogram sim perhaps?
