  1. I use the Roccat Kone Pure with the color scheme you see here from my girlfriend. It was succesfully won by her. She had to convince the judges why she thought she deserved it. Something to do with being a girl gamer. Looks sexy eh? Now it has some smudges running where the edges of our fingers rest... I must say, I've had my share of mice, from Logitech to Razer and some inbetween, but I like the ones from Roccat the best! Good hardware and software.
  2. My flag and avatar from the previous forums that seems to be horizontally shrunken. Gotta fix that someday...
  3. Curiously, I had an almost perfect track record of crashless plays on pre 1.1 versions. Perhaps in part because I almost never installed any mods and/or build humongous monsters.
  4. You know, I was always in the "update when it comes out" camp. But lately, I've been thinking more and more of going back to old 1.0.5. The orbit decay bug especially is seriously screwing up my rendezvous attempts.
  5. My girlfriend didn't understand everything, but she sure did like the jokes. I, on the other hand, had to keep myself from wanting to explain everything. In the end we enjoyed ourselves watching this. Good movie!
  6. Well I have this probe-core without SAS whatsoever hanging in space right now that rather likes its gimballed engine. Sure, it's trajectory is imprecise, but it's light and costs almost nothing.
  7. Thanks for the fast replies! I was afraid it was something along those lines... Too bad there's no way (yet) to put a probe in a low-power state. It's still a hasle though as solar panels are hard to obtain in the early carreer. I have them now, so I guess I'll mount at least 2 of them and keep the smallest battery on.
  8. Hi fellow Astronauts! Hopefully you can help me with something that I just can't figure out. I have this probe in orbit and I want to put it in standby mode. In older versions (currently 1.1.2) I shut down/lock all batteries and abandon the thing. When I return to it and want to wake it up, I turn on all power. For some reason I can't get the power back on now. When I click the power button of a battery (doesn't matter which), I get the message: "No Target". The probe is clearly the only thing I have "targeted" since pushing the next target buttons does nothing. I don't get why this is hapening now and this is the second probe that has this problem. Has anyone experienced this? Is this a bug? Thanks in advance! Oh yeah, in the pic. you can see a capsule but it's unmanned (rescue ship).
  9. Like some things, they're best taken in moderation. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. So moderate to stop it from becomming stale. I did the same thing with bowling. Sometimes the pins just would'n fall like I wanted no matter how much I adjusted my techniques. Then I took a break, sometimes a few minutes to sip a drink, stare at the pins and rationalize. But sometimes I didn't bowl for a few weeks. Whatever it took to keep bowling in the long term. Many suggestions have been made in as many treads, so look them up for inspiration.
  10. Ah, that confirms it then. Too bad. I'll take a look in the file anyway, thanks!
  11. So lately, I've started a "serious" career again when 1.1.2 dropped. But I've been wondering about one thing in particular. Does KSP see the difference between contracts I accept or decline within a single contract-type? I'll try to elaborate. For instance, call me crazy but, I like the Survey contracts. And in the early parts of my career I accept the ones were I have to get a reading below a certain altitude. The ones that call for an altitude above something crazy high get declined because I don't have the plane parts necessarry yet. Doing them from orbit is too imprecise to my liking with Kerbin rotating. The same goes for Tourist contracts. I accept the single ones, but decline the multiple kerbal ones (trying to up the reputation in KSP). In the end does the contract-weight change? Not much if done this way and the individual contracts are treated under the same type, right?
  12. For me it was relearning to make orbit after the atmo-changes. I think that was after 1.0 dropped. It was such a drastic change from before I had the biggest trouble adjusting my habits.
  13. Perhaps disable MAF before turning on SAS. I just thought of another thing: Make sure to turn off Roll and Pitch in the properties window of the rudder. And for good measure, do the same thing to the other surfaces (but the other way around of course). In other words, make them dedicated control surfaces.
  14. Two things come to my mind: Do you have a joystick/gamepad connected? If the deadzone is not large enough, then this could be it. Is the plane build perfectly mirrored? No exeptions.
  15. Of course you didn't, but people grab every oppertunity to challenge themselves. Especially here on the KSP forums. On topic: It was my understanding that rescued kerbals didn't cost a thing exept the cost of the rescue-mission. Is this changed nowadays?
  16. Perhaps they're the inverse of Spaniards, hence the language they speak.
  17. This announcement came out in the middle of the night at my place. It's a nice surprise! I'm going to try it out this weekend to see if my early planes are less jumpy now. Good job and keep it up!
  18. Yeah, "K" instead of "C" I can understand, but the other uses are just not funny. A little too far fetched even.
  19. Hmm, after reading the title, I thought the thread was about the HawkWind missle type from the Gradius shmup games. This thing: I DO appreciate the thing though . Oh, I gave a listen to the music. I might listen some more later this week! Sometimes I have a rock-n-roll craving...
  20. It's pretty convincing! The movements of the lips are almost spot-on. Perhaps ever so slightly jerky, but other than that pretty good. Not much longer before we won't know the difference anymore...
  21. Having axes. Seriously, trying to fly a finicky rocket using only a keyboard gets me easily frustrated. Even when using precision controls. Especially when the margin between stable flight and flipping is small.
  22. Yeah, I know what you mean. I too am having a tough time landing a plane with fixed gear. You have to be super silky smooth at touchdown. Like under 5 m/s vertical speed and under 50 m/s horizontal. Even then I get some bouncing... Fun though!
  23. I'll say it since no one here has: Thanks for the tip! Anyone knows that the surrounding grass is smoother, but that does not dismis your good advice for going into the wild lands of Kerbin. In fact, I'm going to try this out this evening. Though perhaps some mod can move this thread to the tutorials section, so people will perhaps be a little bit more appreciative.
  24. Hmmm, I don't know. I feel I find the eyebrows on Kerbals to look as weird as a human without them. I wish I had sideburns...
