Yeah, my Minmus Elcano rover uses a Mk 2 inline as the cockpit. It looks pretty sweet. The mission is linked in my signature if you're into Minmus like me. I'm currently reinstalling mods a few at a time, in batches. Hopefully, I can catch the troublemaking one this way. So I haven't even played the game yet, only clicked "quit" as soon as I verified it can load, to install the next batch of mods.

Oh, that makes a lot of sense. I wonder why I didn't think of that.- 264 replies

Fair enough No problem. I think this is a cool mod idea; wherever it goes will be exciting. Where will the binary go?- 264 replies

Oh! I was going to look at procedural fairings for you to see if it worked, but then KSP stopped working, and here I am. Glad it's working for you!

Beyond Jool (1.4.3.1)(SpaceDock)(GitHub)
Kimera Industries replied to Mr. Kerbin's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
If I can give my honest opinion, (taking into account what others have said) I think Beyond Jool is pretty good as it is. I would consider upgrading Elross to a gas giant (from what I have been able to figure out so far it is not, I'm still working on getting KSP to run). If you do go for a binary gas giant, make them different sizes- the closest we have to a binary system in real life are Earth and Pluto, and Charon and the Moon are considerably smaller than their respective parent bodies. Two data points are poor statistics, but it does suggest an overall pattern.- 264 replies

I decided to start planning my Grand Tour. As I was thinking through a mission through the stock system, I realized I could see the whole mission in my head—all of it, from the ship design to how I'd pull off the landings—and it was too easy. Granted, if I followed through with my original plan, it would still be a fun mission with many learning opportunities, but I want to challenge myself, more than ever before. So what could be more challenging than adding more planets? I wasn't planning on including Beyond Jool at first, but now I realize it's the perfect challenge. Speaking of which, this mission will likely get its own thread on the forums like my Jool 5 did. I loved sharing that mission, but all of the ship design (which is half of KSP anyway) is dumped on you, with little explanation for why I did what I did. For this mission report, I'll document it from the beginning, hopefully giving a cool insight into how I think and how this kind of mission is planned.

No worries, now that I know how to use the calculator it should be a trivial issue. I don't think Beyond Jool is the problem, either, I think a couple of mods aren't being nice to each other.

KSP crashes while loading but don't worry, I'm working on the problem myself. I highly suspect it is one of the new mods.

technical issues So, we had some kind of technical problem.

Came to confirm, no errors in the last few weeks for me. -
Me: "Surely a radical rocket design will be worth it this time!" *twelve hours of gameplay later* *design doesn't work* *this word applies*

Communicating to you from my PC, brought out of storage and hooked up to the internet briefly. Today in KSP, I validated that my computer stilll works (had to reinstall RAM cards but we're OK) and downloaded some new mods. My next task is to bring all the kerbals home in all my saves so I can safely install a life support mod. To quote Pete Conrad (Apollo 12), "Whoopee!"

Happy New Year! Reasonably certain most people celebrate this day in some capacity or other. Anyway, the possibility of getting my computer out is looking better and better. I can't wait to fill up my hard drive with the dozens of mods I've found that look promising! And then go through the process of cleaning up every single one of my saves so that I can uninstall a rather large mod I don't need anymore and install a life-support mod! That's right, this just got real.

Merry Christmas! I may soon be able to get my computer out. Once I can start making missions again, this thread will be in for a bit of a surprise....

The desk in my room is finally clear, which raises the possibility of bringing my computer out of storage. However, I must wait, because it may not remain clear after Christmas. I shall remain hopeful and look forward to the day when I can play KSP again. There was this cool spaceplane I was working on, the Kestrel. It'll be fully reusable. As in, refuel-it-on-the-runway-and-fly-it-again kind of reusable.

Sorry, I wanted to upvote earlier, but it's as they say (or as I said just now): Your desire to perform an action on the KSP forums is directly proportional to the number of 5XX errors you will get in the process of finishing that action.

I discovered the Atomic Rockets website. It's a gold mine! Everything you could ever want to know about interstellar travel, interplanetary travel, space warfare, space logistics, all in an easy-to-read and understand format! There's even a few game recommendations, of which Kerbal Space Program has the longest entry.

I don't know if this fits here, but I bought Juno recently and have been playing it (mostly because I cannot play KSP on my Mac, for various reasons). I've really enjoyed just flying rockets again. Most of the learning curve has been "OK, how is this different from KSP?" So far I've just launched a few cubesats for contracts, but I'm excited to make Soviet-type launch vehicles when I get to that point. I love the procedural parts, but they make it hard to get a grip on the size of your rocket. Sometimes I just grab a person from the parts menu to check the scale. In KSP, you instinctively know how big a rocket is from the parts you use. I need a banana. (For scale. You know.)
