Rockball Space Program: Whirligig World Mission Report
Watermel00n replied to Watermel00n's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
By signs of intelligent life I mean no radio signals or light visible. As for the kerbals... they live underground lmao -
Took me way too long to dock the second stack of Jumbo-64s to the station.

YEAR 1 DAY 163 The Mesbin Times: Updates on the Munseekers! Launch of Munseeker 2, bound for Thresomin. Launch of Munseeker 3, bound for Kerbmun. Launch of Munseeker 4, bound for Graymun. Due to the success of Munseeker 1, three other probes were built and launched. Munseeker 2 was launched to Thresomin where it successfully performed a landing, Munseeker 3 completed a flyby of Kerbmun, flinging it into a highly eccentric orbit of Mesbin. Munseeker 4 successfully pulled off a landing on Graymun. Munseeker 2's landing on Thresomin, a small moon with low gravity. Munseeker 3's flyby of Kerbmun. Unfortunately, there seem to be no signs of intelligent life on Kerbmun. Munseeker 4 land successfully - but tips over! Thanks to these recent accomplishments, the space program is gaining quite the reputation. However the next step is a little difficult - launching kerbals to space! -
Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration
Watermel00n replied to Kerbalsaurus's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
We at LoonTech have gotten a really funny idea - since the current RBS series (001-004) is going to be retired after we develop our RBS v2, we might as well attach a RBS to Kerman Station and use that as a fuel depot. To really sell this idea, we propose to add an airlock to the section to use it as a "utility" module. The fins and parachutes, now unneeded, can be removed from the RBS. Hopefully, this will be pretty cheap as well as conforming to the 15 ton limit, since the module is basically the launch vehicle. -
Chapter 2: The Ascender Year 1, Day 29 The new KSP has been planning their next move, and they decided to go big or go home. This is the Ascender Capsule, manufactured by AtomicTech, a major contender in the post-war aerospace sector. While the capsule had been a scrapped project from the old program two decades ago, AtomicTech was able to secure blueprints as well as manufacturing components from the warehouse. The Ascender Capsule can hold two kerbals as well as some basic flight instruments. Before the KSP can launch the capsule to orbit, they first have to test the abort system. "John, I think it's working!" "Successful abort system fire! The capsule is still intact." "Let's just drive to the capsule and check it out." "I can't see any damage. I think we're good to go!" Later that evening, John and the growing team of 28 employees held a meeting. "Now that we have a crew capsule, we can attempt to visit whatever the old program left in orbit. The most prominent of these is the Hope Orbital Research Platform. Although the radio equipment used to communicate with the station have long been destroyed, we can try to establish comms to this station. However, we would need to send a crewed vessel to install the equipment within the station." Herbrett blurted, "Why do we have to put the equipment inside the station when we can just attach a utility module to the station on the outside?" Herbrett continued, "We can use those grabbers that you brought to work today, Nathanael. That way, we won't need to worry about whether the station's docking ports still work." John interrupted Herbrett, "Enough talk! Let's get to work!"

womp womp We will be sending a replacement sooner or later. Hopefully this doesn't occur again. -
An old project of mine, redone in future me style. The old thread if anyone needs it. It had been 12 years since the 5th Kerbin War ended and 14 years since the last space program ended. Kerbals have always had a habit of worldwide conflicts, having fought 5 in the last 100 years. However, the Fourth Kerbin War had been the worst of them all. In the end, the Kermarian Federation won, but at what cost? Retired director of the old Space Program John Kerman brings the old kerbonauts and scientists back together, but with the economy in ruins and decades of work destroyed, will they be able to succeed in bringing Kerbalkind to space for good? "Complete" Timeline taken from the old thread(mostly) Chapter 1: Into Space "I've always believed that Kerbalkind was meant to be in space." John Kerman chuckled as the rickety car drove onto the "launch pad". The new KSC was a old abandoned airbase once used to test missiles and experimental aircraft. Standing on the launch pad was a small stubby rocket, created out of the fusion of an aircraft fuselage and a missile. "This probe's a mere fraction of what the Roundarians used, y'know? They once put a space station in orbit in a single launch!" The Orbit-All-Ready was remotely controlled by the equipment in the cabin behind the driver's seat. Hopefully the rocket wouldn't do anything weird. "Nathanael, are all systems ready?" John asked. "I can't tell, these systems are prehistoric. Only thing I can tell is that the rocket hasn't fallen over yet." Nathanael complained. "Whatever, you only live once. Herbrett, start the launch sequence." John began counting down loudly. "Uh, starting engines, everything looks like it's holding up..." "Launch clamps released! That sure does fly like a rocket! Just like the good ol' days..." "Releasing manual control. Starting gravity turn..." "Staging in a few seconds..." "John, the probe's flipping!" John pushed Herbrett aside and hit the button reading "Disengage Launch Sequence". "It's a shame we didn't put reaction wheels on this thing, but I think we got this under control." "One final push..." Just like that, the new KSP had placed their first satellite into orbit. Now the only way they could go was up.

Rockball Space Program: Whirligig World Mission Report

YEAR 1 DAY 113 The Mesbin Times: Success from Graymun! Munseeker 1 Launch Earlier today, the Munseeker 1 was launched to Graymun. This new probe design contains brand-new science experiments and a relay antenna. This antenna can be used to relay connections across the Mesbin system after the probe's mission is complete. \ Image of Graymun's heavily cratered surface, with Derbin on the horizon. Due to low amount of fuel, Munseeker 1 cannot enter orbit around Graymun, instead passing by Graymun into an elliptical Mesbin Orbit. Plans are being made for an Unmanned Graymun Lander and perhaps a crewed exploration somewhere in the future. -

YEAR 1 DAY 89 The Mesbin Times: First Landing on Statmun! Hopper 2 Probe Approaching Statmun Today marked the launch of the Hopper 2 Probe, an improved version of the Hopper 1, which successfully landed on Statmun's South Pole earlier today. Hopper 2 Probe Landed on Statmun Onboard are several science experiments that will be used to examine the composition and nature of Statmun. Jumper 2, a atmosphere research probe launched a few days ago MSP's next goals are obvious: to explore Graymun and Kerbmun, the larger moons of the Mesbin System. "Due to Mesbin's large gravity well, a new probe design will have to be designed for it. These are the Munseeker Probes, equipped with long range antennas and more efficient engines, which will allow us to visit the outer system." Munseeker 1... -

Rockball Space Program: Whirligig World Mission Report
Watermel00n replied to Watermel00n's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
YEAR 1 DAY 59 The Mesbin Times: New advancements in Space Travel! The Launch of the Jumper 1 Probe With the launch of the two new probes from Mesbin Space Centre, the Space Program has been improving by leaps and bounds. Earlier today, the Hopper 1 probe was launched to orbit using the largest rocket on Mesbin since the Manifest Destiny! The Hopper 1 Probe Unfortunately, the Hopper 1 doesn't have the navigation capabilities to visit any other bodies after entering orbit. That will change with the launch of the Hopper 2, planned to visit Statmun. Stay tuned Mesbin! -

hello there welcome to my new mission report. this will have a youtube series eventually but for now ill just be a mission report. modlist: intro: Many years ago, a bunch of Kerbals flew from the Kerbol star system to explore and colonize the Kaywell star system. However, they crashed on Mesbin, a big fat spinny rockball. After a few thousand years of setting up civilization, the Kerbals decided to try and escape this horrid garbage planet.
