  1. Have you ever been in a building when a really heavy truck went by outside? And the floor felt like it wiggled a little under your feet? That is what a mild earthquake feels like. A stronger one can feel like being in a boat when another boat passes and you bob around gently, swaying. The strongest one I've ever experienced was when I was 10 miles from the epicenter of a 4.4. That's not all that powerful, by the numbers, but we were close to it. That one felt like being next to a train track when a BIG train blasts by at high speed. There was a noise much like a jet liner flying a few hundred feet overhead, things on the walls and shelves shook and jittered around, and the ground felt like standing on a drumhead while a giant was drumming. Having grown up in California, the small ones are barely worth remarking upon, but this one scared me.
  2. Moved to ship exchange: the place for showcase threads.
  3. This is a question best asked of the modders. And so, the thread has been moved to their subforum.
  4. How about posting some screenshots? Or a report of one of your missions?
  5. Squad has said that they have no desire to try to make a transition to N-body. In fact, it's on the What Not to Suggest List. Assuming that you just want to discuss it as an intellectual problem, though, this thread has been moved to the off-topic lounge. Keep in mind, though, that trying to persuade Squad to make the change will get the thread closed.
  6. Minmus has some nice flat areas, but trying this on Mun would be dang near suicidal because the terrain is so rough. I'm sure it could be done, but would be much more trouble than it's worth. Unless you just like the challenge.
  7. Please review the submission guidelines before posting challenges.
  8. We like our challenges to have more structure to them. Please review the guidelines and then submit an actual challenge.
  9. There had been no constructive discussion for months, Columbia. There were multiple empty bumps that merely created clutter for other forum browsers to have to click past.
  10. Log in with your current name. It won't recognize the old one as valid. The Laythe Initiative: occasionally we do some pruning and move very old threads to an "archive" status. That might be what you're seeing.
  11. Please don't make the discussion personal, people.
  12. Pro-religion and anti-religion can both get pretty toxic, which is why we ask our members to just avoid the subject entirely. This is, after all, a forum devoted to a cute little space flight game. So let's observe the rule and turn to other subjects before this gets nasty.
  13. You can't request that other people change their names, hieywiey.
  14. With regard to some removed posts, people do indeed say some dumb things about religion and race. However, if you quote them here, it's likely to offend fellow forum members and/or start religious discussions. Please leave that sort of thing off of our forum, even if you're just quoting something you disagree with that someone else said.
  15. Hello. If you had not said you're not a native English speaker, I would not have known.
  16. Pictures of the vessel in question often help diagnose problems. Post some, please? And welcome to the forum.
  17. If you're going to be modifying the game, then the modding subforums are the place to talk about it. Moved.
  18. Let's keep this discussion to one thread, please. (Merged.)
  19. A fair number of posts have been edited or removed from this thread for throwing insulting terms for regions of the country at each other, arguing, and just plain going off-topic. Keep it civil and relevant to the subject of the thread, please.
  20. How high and how fast are you trying to open them? If you right-click on a parachute, one of the info lines on that screen lists a status for opening the chutes: unsafe, risky, safe. (Interesting forum name, by the way.)
  21. As always, "When it's ready." And since threads like this have caused nasty arguments in the past, I'm afraid we've had to make a forum rule against asking about/discussing version release dates (2.3.e). This thread will be closed now.
  22. Mod question moved to the mod subforums.
  23. This report of a (partial) mission has been moved to Mission Reports.
