Creating something that he hasn't done, just so it can be named after him? That feels very forced, very artificial. If you want to name something after him, find something he does that is unique to him, or only became well known because he did it.

What Are Things You've Heard That Made You Facepalm?
razark replied to michaelsteele3's topic in The Lounge
You made a slight typo. -
What are you doing this fourth of July(if you are in America)
razark replied to ouion's topic in The Lounge
Not at this point. Well, there's legal issues involving child custody. There's the fact that I already have a job here, and don't have a job lined up somewhere else. It's a job that I don't particularly dislike. There's legal issues with relocating to another country. There's financial issues. It would take a hell of a lot more money than I have at this point to uproot and move to another country. I doubt I could convince my wife to move that far away from her family. And so on. But no, you're absolutely right. It's all about freedom. -

It sounds like you're working on a biased sample. The people in question are already in the US, so they are not a good representation of attitudes towards moving to the US. Anyway: "Yay! My country is better than your country! The country I'm in is bettar than all others because I just happened to be born in this one!" Meh. I just don't get it. -

Mowed the lawn, did laundry, grilled some chicken, argued with the wife, watched some TV, mucked about on the computer, drank whiskey. -
You mean 1.0.4? Are are you a time-traveler?

I wonder does Squad plan to make other sciency games like KSP?
razark replied to Pawelk198604's topic in The Lounge
Find a copy of this from 1988: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_%26_Death That and it's sequel are the only ones I've ever seen. -
But we've been constantly told that it's an "official" channel by Squad.

Mercury-Atlas 9. Gordo Cooper spends more time in space than all other American astronauts up to that time combined. Flies a manual re-entry in a failing spacecraft, using wristwatch and marks on the window for guidance, and makes the most accurate landing of any Mercury flight.

Three. Can you count to three? There are three phases of a mission. Launch, flight operations, and recovery. As released, KSP 1.0 could not handle a capsule with a parachute and a heat shield re-entering correctly, the most basic and (most likely) the most common first re-entry players are going to try. And it didn't work. No, I don't expect a perfect game. But if they're going to slap "1.0" on it and call it a release version, they could at least get the damn basics right. If they can't get something as simple as a three-part, common sense re-entry to work out of the box, why should we have faith that the more complex issues were dealt with?

Are the Kerbals you resuce from orbit ever not an engineer?
razark replied to LordCurlyton's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I once rescued a Chuck Kerman. He was a pilot, of course. In fact, he's the only one I've ever rescued. (I had to find out if he was a pilot.) -
Best things to watch on TV while playing KSP

How did this thread exist for so long without this one being listed? -
This is very useful for lining things up. However, if one is opposed to mods, I must say that an antenna makes a useful indicator, as well:

What Are Things You've Heard That Made You Facepalm?
razark replied to michaelsteele3's topic in The Lounge
I can't help but wonder about the difference in time and location of the two experiences. -
When KSP version <x> is released, I install it to D:\KSP\KSP_<x> I add D:\KSP\KSP_<x-2> to my archive zip file and delete it. In short, I've always got the current release and the previous release installed, and copies of everything else zipped up. I'll do this, too. I don't copy my saves over, though. Update time is time to start a new save.

Will other bodies ever get the proceduaral craters treatment?
razark replied to r4pt0r's topic in KSP1 Discussion
To some extent. Those bodies with an atmosphere should have a much less pronounced cratering. -
The hidden secret, of the mk2 cockpit interior space!
razark replied to SeniorFight's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Dear kids: If you're old enough to open and read this file, then you've probably figured out there are some things you don't go around saying in some situations, and can probably list off quite a few that I've never even heard before. You may also have already figured out that magic is not real. These words do not actually cause bad things to happen, or have any power of any sort. There. That should keep the kids safe. Crisis avoided. -
I just want to say that my previous comment was not meant to be taken as an accusation that censorship was a problem here, or an accusation of censorship. I had just read the "Why did I create this" post on the linked forum, which brought up the complaint, and got it crossed in my mind with this OP.

Moderation is one thing. Censorship is another.
-
So this is just Squad over-hyping their questionable decisions, again?
-
Take a look at the nose. It does carry the Meatball logo.
-
I will admit, as much as I like the Meatball, it can be a pain to get it working properly on paper sometimes. There are specific files created for the color and black & white versions, though.
