  1. I don't see the problem. You wanted to not see the sun. You didn't see the sun. Given how rare and amazing it is, I'm sorry you missed it. I hope you'll get a chance again.
  2. I watched it in the background while doing other stuff, since some friends had recommended it. I should have gone with your plan. It was decent enough to be background noise, and not much else.
  3. Honestly, I have no idea what any of this means. (I really don't follow a lot of games. KSP, Portal/2, FSX, Silent Hunter 4, and Civ3 make up the vast majority of my gaming, unless you want to count Freecell and Tetris, over the last 1.5 decades. I vaguely remember something about checking papers at a border, though...) But, Portal (and P2) is so well done, that it doesn't matter what larger world it exists in. It's so well done that it can exist in whatever world it wants, and that doesn't matter.
  4. Hi! And, bye, I guess? Thanks to both of you for adding to our enjoyment of this game! And also for not letting another piece of modding fall by the wayside, but letting it live on.
  5. I'm usually not one for scripted games that play the same every time you go through them. But these two are just so damn good that I can enjoy them repeatedly. The puzzle aspect, plus the writing, just makes them worth playing again every so often.
  6. It's been a couple of interesting years since this discussion. I suppose I could say I kind of get it now. Is it really? I mean, just add one of these, and that would be nice, and this might be fun... (But that Steyr AUG is still uuuuuugly!)* *With a capital "UGH".
  7. Both lasers require a massive power source and a way to dispose of waste heat. Those tasks would be simpler for a ground station to deal with. So, firing it more than once is going to be easier on the ground, at least.
  8. Yes. Or are you trying to say that even if T2 offered one thousand times more than ST was worth, and ST was still holding out for more, that T2 was in the wrong? Your position is that no matter what, the big company is going to be wrong, and the small company is in the right?
  9. What did T2 offer? What was ST's counteroffer? At what point did the negotiations break down?
  10. Based on what followed that statement, no, you didn't. No, I paint people who scream about moral and ethical outrage without sufficient evidence as irrational. Absolutely. But it's a little dishonest to be crying foul at a situation when you don't have any evidence of what actually happened in the first place. Two companies were in negotiations. They could not come to an agreement that both approved of. One company then took action to protect its IP and secure future development of it. This is what is known. This is all that is known. Attributing motives to either company without any actual knowledge of what happened is not a valid method of determining who is right or wrong. There is no possible way, short of knowing what did happen, to assign morality to either side.
  11. Personally, I avoid all of Shakespeare's plays, because he wore a ugly color shirt while writing Julius Caesar. Well, I don't know what color it was, but I'm going to assume it was just horrible.
  12. The math is so very simple, because you don't know everything that's actually going in to it.
  13. Which is that two companies couldn't come to an agreement. Beyond that, it's pure speculation.
  14. Yes, current players get it for free. Seeing as there are no current players of KSP2, I guess it's not really important.
  15. Yes. The meatball has so much symbolism in it. The worm is just... the acronym in an odd font.
  16. Good to know others support the Meatball, as well.
  17. I have reasons to believe that document may be slightly out of date. (For one thing, the page that covers my area shows some inconsistencies with current procedures.)
  18. Meatball. The superior logo. Original, now, and forever! (Or at least until they give me the official graphics file for the worm. Until then, I can only use the One True Logo.)
  19. And the dinosaur plushie, calmly carrying on to orbit.
  20. There were some parts of that build that were just a pain, and the finished thing seems just too flimsy to me.
  21. "Designed by committee" is a bad thing for a reason. KSP suffered a lot from this over the years. Betrayal of what, exactly? It's none of his business what happens to KSP. Boeing and Airbus don't have to contact the Wright brothers every time they build a new airliner.
