KSP2 Release Notes

I have strict rules about the number and types of Kerbals I hire at any particular point in my program. Each member of each Kerbalnaut Group is then specified within those limits by rolling a d12. Promotions and flight assignments are also made according to a set of rules (and the will of the almighty d12).

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
razark replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
I ordered the fried seafood platter for lunch. I now have a toothache. And three deep-fried pearls, apparently. -
I also am willing to accept donations of cool things. Aviation or non-aviation related. Also, cash is always welcome.

The one space mission you'd most like to see in your lifetime
razark replied to Klapaucius's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The Tellus and Vesta Colony missions. Only good can come of it. -
Downloadable versions are available here.
-
I prefer Aero-Tech Industries. Space-X and NASA are still trying to get beyond LEO, but AreoTech is ready to colonize Tellus and Vesta, no matter the cost.
-
Ok, have fun with that.

I haven't been able to play it, have you? Yes, they're "adding" them at some point, but I can't install them in my game yet. Therefore they are lacking. I'm only aware of one KSP2. Did you find a different download besides the officially released one? And for anyone else that's completely unable to read the damn sarcasm: KSP2 has not even been released yet. We have no idea exactly what is going to be in or be missing from the game. No one here can say they have played it, no one can say they know what the game is going to be like when it is finally released. We haven't heard anything about it in several months. It's way too early to start talking about DLCs.
-
Indeed we are. And?
-
But I like KSP on my ZX81.
-
I think it should be nothing but DLCs. The content they've delivered so far is clearly lacking, and needs a large amount of DLC just to even be playable.
-
I nominate this as the thread of the decade, and challenge anyone to find a more appropriate and ground-breaking one.

What's there to worry about? Right now, you don't have KSP2, and life goes on. Worst case scenario, you don't have KSP2 later, and life continues to go on.

For Questions That Don't Merit Their Own Thread

Just a quick check: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinalese#Population 50 - 200 seems to be possible. This is for a very low-tech civilization, though. More specialized division of labor might raise those numbers a bit. -
Which features will you forgo for an early release?
razark replied to Xd the great's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I thought about it, but then decided that I really want multiplayer in at release time. Mainly, because the forum will be a much more bearable place if we don't have a bunch of threads about not having multiplayer. -
KSP 1 early buyer - will I get Ksp as a free update?
razark replied to Simon campbell's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Do you like doing your job for no pay? Neither does anyone else. -
It might be. I think my mind took it as meaning something else. However, if it is, then I don't understand the "Angular hulls seem to imply thick hulls..." part, and I took the picture to be an open inner area, surrounded by a square hull structure with very thick corners? And "The only downside is extra hull weight from being thick..." makes me wonder. What I'm talking about is shown in the cross sections on the right. The inner circular section is the pressure hull, and contains all the people and equipment that need to be kept dry. Everything outside that is open to the sea, and the outer hull is simply for streamlining. In the case of a spaceship, you would have a similar setup, with the people-tank surrounded by whatever shape outer hull you want, of any thickness. In addition, this outer hull could serve a spaceship as a Whipple shield to protect from debris impacts. Is this what you were referring to?
-
Why not do it the way submarines do? An round inner pressure hull, surrounded by an unpressurized outer structure of whatever shape you wish?

Yes. Gaining more knowledge about the universe we live in and how it all works together can be a goal in itself. It also does provide jobs. And in some cases, the jobs provided keep your rocket scientists from becoming your enemy's missile designers. -

True, but it's a situation where your set of available data is likely to be low.
