For now you can just zoom out your view as far as it will go into orbit then back in. And that fixes the sky as well as allows you to use custom lens flares. I get the black sky as well but it breaks Scatterer in such a way that it fixes the lens flare? Not sure exactly what is causing this but I myself got it right after I installed "QuickHide" and alt-tabbed out of the game to quite with the alt-f11 window open.
Yeah I know about that fix but there's still the issue where with scatterer installed the EVE effects stop working, they only show as a texture and no parameters work.
The mod is not working for me allthough I have put it in the right place: ...\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements It gives me no clouds at all which is weird :/
Did you install the config files too? You need them along with the release file. -
Hey, in the newest EVE updates, it says now you can use greater than 256 in color values. Does this mean that the bioluminescent clouds could possible be added? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55905-1-0-5-1-05-3-Nov-10-2015-EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements?p=2299416&viewfull=1#post2299416http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55905-1-0-5-1-05-3-Nov-10-2015-EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements?p=2299416&viewfull=1#post2299416
Theoretically yes, now I'd need to figure out how to get them to only show up on the night side then it'd be possible.
Eve and/or Scatterer seems to have some kind of problem/incompatibility in the last changes: atmos are loaded, but unloaded again after one or two secs, leaving the sky black (I've changed the delay with no effect). Also, environmental effects appears completely stopped (froze, no movement), and the volumetrics are gone. I'm not able to determine the specific problem, so I'm reporting the same to you and Blackrack. I leave you the logs here: KSP.log output_log.txt

Is this with your configs or mine? There were changes in some parameters (speed)

My own parameters. Anyways, nevermind for the moment, Blackrack seem to have the problem identified. I'll try his quick fix, if corrects the problem I'll let you know.
I can confirm this is happening with mine as well... I tried the quick fix and it is still occurring. - - - Updated - - - I'll give my logs as well so you can compare output_log KSP -
Fantastic work I am loving it, I had a look at Jool because of the new scatterer, hyperedited my Soyuz into a 200km orbit, and found myself inside the atmosphere, visually, no aparent physics atmosphere. Not sure what causes this SVE or Scatterer. Or is it working as intended, I would expect a sort of pervading greenness. by the way beauty shot first from about 1000km. http://i.imgur.com/vsRPpXB.png http://i.imgur.com/0EqUxkT.png http://i.imgur.com/62NwusF.png
I'm a bit confused. What is making it look like you're inside the atmosphere?
If I might make a request/suggestion: For a mod like this, which seems to have a lot of different components, I'd like to see CKAN integration with this, I think it would be most beneficial to those that use CKAN, and this seems to be as good as, if not better than Astronomers pack.
It has CKAN integration :D
Thanks for your answer! My bad, I should have been more specific: Deleting the Terrain folder does work, but it also disable city lights, I was trying to find a way to keep them enabled and *only* disable the new terrain. I tried toying with the terrain.cgf configs, but the weird grass thing remain regardless. At best, you can change the display distance so that it only shows when the camera is very close (I could get behind that). Unfortunately, since the vanilla terrain shader is suppressed, this doesn't solve anything as you have a very ugly and basic Kerbin terrain below. (By the way, you have a grass.dds file in Terrain/Textures that does nothing :D. The first thing I tried was change it's content in visual studio, but it doesn't affect anything.) I know this is a very specific request (disable the new kerbal terrain, but not city lights), but I'd really like to keep your city lights on, they are really cool! Even if there is no solution for this, thank you for your time either way :)
Ohhhh crap that's right... I forgot the Overhaul version does that... Well you can always switch to the Release version, there's no custom terrain and the city lights are still there and are working. There's just no atmospheric effects yet unless you install scatterer (I'll have custom configs out as soon as I can but the default one's should be ok for now)
i need some advices, installing this (i want the new "R" version) i need to uninstall via ckan astronomers visual pack and eve? is eve included in ths pack?
Yeah, Astronomer's works off the old EVE so you'll need to uninstall his pack as well as the old EVE. I know that EVE is included in my download here but I'm not entirely sure how the CKAN team assembled my pack onto CKAN to install but I'd guess it would be how I have it on GitHub which includes EVE.
Hi! Great work with the mod! Loving it. Except for Kerbin grass, a matter of personal taste! Is there any way to restore the default texture? I just spent two hours trying to change this, to no avail :( Thank you for your time :)
Yeah if you go into the Stock Visual Enhancements/EVE folder you can delete the Terrain folder. - - - Updated - - -
I guess it's the only mod that uses new EVE. Also, the Jool is amazing. And it may eventually revamp ground textures. And it is up to date. Well, just try. :P By the way, how heavy is it comparing to Astronomer's? - - - Updated - - - Is it the problem of new EVE, or is the old Eve and Scatterer play together much better on edges of the visible part of the planet? Here's the old EVE, compare it to the pic in the OP: http://i.imgur.com/9YwxrIG.png

Actually if you look at from 90 degrees to the side it still has the same problem. The terminators don't line up so it looks weird, EVE was originally built with stock's terminators in mind so it looks off with scatterer. I believe rbray is making this adjustable though.
What blackrack said :P

I think I'm experiencing something similar to Manwith Noname... This is using the latest version of EVE (1-05-2) and I tried the default new Scatterer download as well as using the two .shader files you posted above and this happens still. You load the game and the sky goes black, go to a craft, it's still black, go to map view everything is fine, go back to your craft and scatterer effects are showing but it seems to me it breaks EVE and the clouds stop doing what they are configured to do... if that makes sense... I can provide more details if you need me to :P [imgur]H38F0[/imgur]
Does this include improved height maps?
No it does not.
This might be a stupid question, but... What makes this different from other visual enhancements, like basic EVE or Astronomer's?
Well it uses assets from RVE and then some of my own... It's just my take on a visual enhancement mod.
Not sure if you know this Nhawks, but Kopernicus introduces a bug in 1.0.5 that removes the buoyancy value for any and all parts, so craft just sink under the surface with it installed. May also happen with other mods, but as of right now Kopernicus is a definite. FYI I am using the 64-bit workaround for windows, but will verify with 32-bit tomorrow. Also when using Kopernicus, the game loads the main menu with a whited-out Kerbin Land texture, which can be fixed by going into settings and back out again. Both with and without Kopernicus, the game loads with no Kerbin clouds or atmosphere on the main menu kerbin, though without Kopernicus, exiting the settings screen brings you to the "Mun or Bust" menu screen. Again, this is all on 64-bit windows (except for the non-Kopernicus no-atmo main menu Kerbin; that was just verified on 32-bit)
Both of these issues have been in the Known Issues section in the OP for awhile now.
Oh my. Seems like KSP 1.1 release would be a major visual breakthrough. Cannot use this because of dancing at the memory edge already but can't wait for 64 bit stable game. Just can't wait.
Have you tried a lower resolution? I know its still pretty memory intensive in the lower resolutions but you can still fit some mods in with them :D - - - Updated - - - By the way everyone, we are now on CKAN :D
-
I have to say, now that multiplanet support is released, I'm expecting great things from the people who maintain visual enhancement packs :)
Oh I hope I can do your wonderful mod justice sir :P
-
I fixed rings :) , as for the lightening ? i think it may be a city lights bug and when you time warp it appears like lightening on the day side and im experiencing the same texture flicker glitch on the runway
Can you post some pictures? I have no idea what you're referring to. - - - Updated - - - Just an update status passing through....: If you didn't notice Blackrack has released multi-planet support for Scatterer! This means the old EVE-Overhaul version will be discontinued as I can now apply actual atmospheric effects onto the planets now. This also means I will be pulling back the Release version into a developmental version (nothing is effected user end I'm just going back into the 0.x.x versioning instead of 1.x.x) for my organization. Also, I'm approaching the end of the semester at Uni so I know for a fact I won't be able to do a lot between now and the middle of the week. I want to get to work on it so I can get an update out but classes come first :( Stay tuned hopefully I'll have something out by the end of the week :D
-
i really like the hard work thats gone into making this the low res version runs for me at 1.2 gb wich is great i would however still like to beable to disable the lightening since it looks kinda weird in low res and the jool rings are not working ? thanks for all the hard work :)
Disable the lightning? I haven't put in any lightning. Did you install Kopernicus? The rings won't work if you don't have it installed.

Have you tried using the HR version again? I uploaded a new version that should have been fixed. There's install directions inside of the download file
-
Hahaha, woops - - - Updated - - - I'll be sure to check on OpenGL the next time I get the chance
-
KSP doesn't need to crash for logs to be generated. There's the KSP log file and the output log file. I won't be able to check anything until a day or two from now but I'll double check everything when I can Sounds like something being caused by the EVE release. It is still a beta so there's bound to be issues. I don't test under OpenGL, only DirectX 9. I'll make sure to double check on all the graphic APIs for oddities.
-
Ok, wasn't sure if it was up on CKAN yet, they're working on it though. And I don't really know how I could get anymore detailed as it really is just drop the two folders (StockVisualEnhancenents and EnvironentalVisualEnhancements) into your GameData folder. I don't know why it isn't working for you guys it's worked in all my testing. I'd appreciate some more information besides it just isnt working. Pictures, logs, which version you have, which resolution. Everything helps
-
Which version are you using, Release or Overhaul. What resolution? Did you download it through CKAN, Kerbal Stuff or GitHub? What isn't working? Everything? No clouds? No Joolian rings? Details my man
-
Technically you could change the planet Scatterer was on before by editing the configs out of the game. It just only worked on one planet at a time. But yes I am using a dev build of it. I've also added the MR version of the Release version to Kerbal Stuff, you can check it out here. This means (I think) it'll be offered on CKAN which I had multiple requests for on Reddit. We will see how it goes, kind of disappointed I can't add multiple zip files to it as I'd like to have all the resolutions there as well but nothing I can do about it.

Scatterer is looking beautiful on Laythe
-
Ok, found out what was wrong with the HR version. I accidentally included the EVE-Overhaul version of the EnviromentalVisualEnhancements folder instead of the latest release. You can re-download that version here
-
More than likely it does. I didn't look at the memory usage of EVE when I tested it but I know that i have more textures than default EVE has so 'probably'.

Ok thanks guys. I'll look at the HR version tomorrow and see what's messed up.
