  1. Nope. This game is about rockets and doesn't have proper water physics. I always wanted to take off from a carrier though, so if we got that instead it would be very cool.
  2. They could be repurposed to something like this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_landing_system
  3. I like it. Something I would like to see is some sort of excavation site near it, with lights shining on the monolith and things like that.
  4. I feel like refreshing the crew might lead to exploits. People will refresh it until they get the best member. Maybe systems further away could have better crews instead?
  5. How about program/projects instead of strategies? They could have multiple objectives (NOT random) we would be able to pick ourselves. So for example, if a Space Station Program was activated it would give missions directly influenced by the theme of the said program. That way we could have a station in orbit that we would maintain whenever and however we wanted, and wouldn't have to wait for another random contract to generate telling us to dock another orange tank to it.
  6. Ok, so I made a bunch of starter vessels and sent them to @gagarinekerman. Made sure all of them have enough dV to go from LKO to Mun or Minmus and land. I also made a bunch of small stations that consist of >30 parts. I'll probably try and make some more if I find free time.
  7. Woah. I can build you some fancy-looking and functional ships if you ever need more for this mod. Just send me a PM.
  8. You should put this on CKAN EDIT: Nevermind, it says it's on CKAN, but for some odd reason can't install it from there. Probably need to wait for an update,

    IL-2: 1946

I play it with a Cyborg V1 and a mouse in my right hand to look around. It works really well but I had to get used to it as I am right-handed.
  10. Maybe. But it would definitely be nice to play and enjoy the game without downloading add-ons every time a new update comes out.
  11. Yeah, I think many career elements are hard-coded and can't be easily modified. But that doesn't change the fact the game should have some quality to it. You can't just create something broken and make it moddable. I mean, it's great to have mods and be able to easily create them, but the game should also be playable without them.
  12. I have another idea on how to tackle the whole reputation decay problem. Maybe programs could freeze some rep while they are active? That way, even when players decide to warp for long periods of time, tiny amounts of reputation would be secured and they would not go rep bankrupt. That way the game would be more forgiving even for people who run one mission at a time (direct Kerbin -> Jool for example). I'm thinking that the amounts of rep should be really tiny though. Just to keep your space program barely running.
  13. Since science experiments grant rep the mobile lab would more than perfect for this. Except you would get funding for a Mun mission from a Mun Program. The ideas of LKO missions was only to keep the rep on the same level in case you run out of program money and can't get any further. @Pthigrivi all I see you doing here is either not reading, not understanding or trying to be annoying. You go all "Yeah, but that wouldn't work, because [insert strawman here] and that's really problematic and also I'm so trying to help you guys out solving all these problems, you know". This is just annoying. I am aware of these problems, but me and others try to somehow come up with ideas how to solve them. You do nothing except coming out with the same silly arguments that add nothing to this thread. So please, either leave or try to actually help us fleshing this out.
  14. Both wouldn't fit into the game only because it still feels unfinished. I'm not a big fun of multiplayer in KSP either, but that's simply because the game doesn't provide substantial things (for the lack of better word) to support it and keep it interesting. I would love to build my own plane and dogfight and race against my friends, but I'm afraid SQUAD will make silly mistakes again (just like it was with the career), and the whole dev time spent on making multiplayer possible and playable will be time wasted (again).
  15. Hmm... Yeah, I like the idea, though this might be a bit problematic to deal with. Without the constant decay it's very easy to build up tons of reputation. One way to deal with this problem is directly exchanging the reputation for cash. And I mean all of it. Then, when a new season begins, you start with zero reputation and try to build up as much of it as possible. Do you mean something like that?
  16. I fully understand that. But the question should be asked: do we want to play sandbox or do we want to play actual career? IMO the time should matter. If it doesn't then there's no point in creating, maintaining and playing the career mode. Maybe there should be some sort of reputation lock mechanism. Or maybe the Jool mission objectives should give enough reputation to get you back on track (I used this idiom correctly, I hope?) even after excessive warping. Or maybe there should be an option to simply disable the reputation decay for those who don't want it. I would keep it enabled in my save though. BTW have you guys seen Scott Manley's Interstellar Quest? He was sending probes all over the system while doing tons of other missions in Kerbin's SOI waiting for them to arrive. Even though his game was heavily modded I feel like it's still possible to achieve this kind of career management in regular stock KSP.

    Powder Toy

Anyone figured out a way to create a H2/O2 rocket engine?
  18. 9/10 You saw me derp hard in one of the development discussion threads.
  19. We are too dumb! What is this computer with a touch screen doing in my pocket! Witchery! What even is this guy's channel? Looks like a 100% troll to me.
  20. Maybe this could be done with contracts? The objective would be to go somewhere, gather ore and bring it back to Kerbin and recover. Such contracts already are in stock, except they ask for bringing ore all over the solar system instead of Kerbin. Also a problem I've encountered with Kerbalism: since the tech tree doesn't start with a probe I ended up launching kerbals in space a few times which is risky considering the life support systems are not available at the start.
