  1. :0 I didn't know that! I only played on dogfight/missions servers so far. Yeah, that's exactly my problem. The courses are easy to make, but I would also like fly with a proper flight stick. Would be nice if someone decided to run an RO+FAR+Races! Mod pack server. Would definitely join it and race people. Not sure if Races! works in DMP though.
  2. In Pioneer. All I'm saying is that it won't sell well if we throw a ship editor and Kerbals into Pioneer. Making it an MMO sandbox/dogfight/racing flight sim game on the other hand could attract millions of new people (just like War Thunder does, for example). I have actually seen it and I'm planning to play it really soon, but as stated above: I can't really see a completely new game when those two get mixed together. Pioneer + ship editor + kerbals. The only difference between both games is that one lacks Kerbals and one lacks the ability to trade (though it seems like it's been achieved successfully in Kerbal Kommander).
  3. Why copy something that already exists though? People won't buy it if it's just a copy of some other game +Kerbals. I haven't seen any game that has a big planet, easy to use editor and a lot of air-breathing engines (+ the ability to create races and use weapons maybe). Something like the BAD-T tournament. I would buy THAT in a heartbeat.
  4. How small can a graphene-based computer be? And I don't mean a simple logic gate, but an actual computer that could act as a normal PC or a phone. Would that enable smartphones to be paper-thin and super fast?
  5. I have been spending quite a lot of time in the IL-2 1946 game and I also recently started to watch the RedBull Air Race (which IMHO is pretty amazing) and it made me think: Are there any multiplayer flight sim racing games? So the perfect one that I have imagined would be a freeroam sanbox game where you build your planes and fly with people. Basically a crossover of KSP and IL-2 with GTA elements (the ability to create races, shoot each other in the face and an open world in which you can find nice places without bothering others). Do you guys know anything that resembles this? I know about Simple Planes, but it's in a kind of "meh" stage for now and didn't have MP the last time I played it. I'd preferably like @SQUAD to make this as an official sequel of KSP (except with Earth-sized Kerbin, better atmosphere and procedural parts), but if there are any other developers out there reading this, I just want to let you know that I'm willing to pay money for a game like that.
  6. This is really complicated. IMO the science experiments shouldn't give any "science points" as they are simply just another way make a mess out of career/science mode. They should give reputation instead based on where you are without any percantage caps, or whatever. Also making things bigger and heavier as the tree progresses doesn't make much sense. Giving science experiments rewards, "balancing" (you can't really balance sth that is broken from the beginning) them based on what kind of crew/lab you have and tying it directly to the tech tree was a bad idea made by the devs. Now they have to do all sorts of circus tricks to make it work well, but it still doesn't. Make it simple, make it work like IRL or don't create it at all, because otherwise it won't end well. I like the idea of many new experiments though. The game is still lacking things like magnetometers, particle collectors, cameras and stuff like that. Would be nice to finally get them.
  7. I really can't do math and never launched a rocket IRL, but I can tell you how I do it in KSP. What I do is first drop something and check what's its speed when it hits the ground. Then add enough solid fuel so the dV matches the speed it hit the ground with and adjust the burn time (using KER). The tricky part is to fire it at the right altitude. So you would probably need to know your rocket's terminal velocity first (drop a mock-up or something). Then adjust the fuel amount to have the same dV to match the terminal velocity (I'm assuming it would fly high enough to achieve it before hitting the ground). Then it would be only the matter of firing it at the right time, I guess.
  8. I used to be a fan of co-op where one player is dominant and decides when to warp while the other is only a co-pilot, but that idea sucked. Someone actually had figured out all those problems connected with warping, altering the future and such. The answer would be: everybody warps at the same time. Basically two people are going somewhere. Let's say one is on it's way to Duna and one is flying in a plane on Kerbin. The one going to Duna wants to warp for an hour, but the second player wants to land and warp only for, let's say 45 minutes. They both click the warp button and warp for 45 minutes into the future. It's pretty simple. However the problem with this is quicksaves and quickloads. People would have to vote if they wanted to revert back since they share the same time line. Anyway, I don't think KSP would be a good MP game. There's too much trouble connected with all that. I would love to see a Kerbal Aircraft Prpgram as a sequel with multiplayer. It would be amazing to race, dogfight or simply fly with other people and there wouldn't have to be any warp involved since long interplanetary trips are not possible in jets.
  9. Juno is actually a pretty good engine for Laythe drones, since they don't have to have a fuselage of the size of Wheesley.
  10. Maybe they really like Metallica?
  11. I hope they make the most of JunoCam. It would be nice to get some fresh pictures of Europa and Io.
  12. I wasn't keen on having the Goliath in game once it was announced either, but here's a bunch of things: You can't really do that with boats. I also want to say I hate the mobile version of this forum. I wanted to put the pictures in a spoiler, but could do so with only one and also for some reason I can't include a picture of NASA's SOFIA telescope here, so you'll have to google it yourself.
  13. KAC is awesome for things like that. I wouldn't mind if it was implemented right away as it is without any changes.
  14. I'm pretty sure we've already had a thread with the same exact title. Anyway, the main thing I would like to see in the near(-ish) future of KSP is a career overhaul. After that I'll gladly accept anything new the devs throw at us. As for any sequels: Kerbal Aricraft Program with the same SPH editor, tons of new locations to launch your planes from, Earth-sized Kerbin and multiplayer (and maybe weapons). I haven't seen any flight sim racing games and if the sequel offered that I would buy it straight away.
  15. Yeah, true. Space exploration includes a lot of things and subjects, but I want a finished game first.
  16. I don't want to completely dereail this thread, but I have a feeling you've never tried to complete a career save.
  17. I hope some day I will be able to play this game without modifying its files.
  18. The system where we could influence the kind of contracts we want to do would be better though. The current career is just bad.
  19. I think it's meant to be a reference to that one film where they discover a face on Mars. Was it called 'The Red Planet', or sth? I don't think M&M's should be in the game as they are kind of pointless, but think about this way: experiments (in widgets form) in 0G. We would be able to poke objects around and see how they bounce in the interior and stuff like that. They wouldn't even have to be 3D. Simple, Powder Toy-like widget with a bunch of materials available to mix.
  20. I wish that rescue contracts weren't a thing. There's so much we could do in Kerbin's SOI on our own but instead we are forced to cycle through a bunch of contracts we don't want to complete.
  21. Because the system based on three resources is broken, strategies are useless and the contracts are random. Mission control doesn't control missions and the tech research works backwards (go places first, get better stuff later).
  22. Planes and rockets are both meant to go up. I get the argument about armosphere and all, but I also think that adding submarine parts and creating all the systems to make it work would be another thing the devs would have to deal with. I'm not discarding the idea. I just want the game to be finished first. I think career overhaul should be the priority now.
  23. I agree and very much support this. I like how it worked in the old IL-2 game. The exhaust smoke was simply drawn as a line.
