What needs to be updated any way? The orbital mechanics haven't changed, which is the only thing all these impressive MM configs concern themselves with. Right?

Bye and good luck Max. You were the most recognizable staff member to me, due to all those streams.

For me the most important changes they could make to the science system are: 1. Make experiments different from each other gameplay-wise All current experiments are basically the same. It's all 'put-into-specific-place-and-press-button' experiments. The Impact! mod or SCANSat show that you can have many different ways to make getting science more interesting, from requiring precise orbits for scanning or by coordinating two spacecraft to get impact data. 2. Make experiments matter, by giving you information that's useful for future missions The blurbs are fun, but add nothing to the game itself. Real-life experiments often make future missions easier or possible. From mapping a landing site in great detail to revealing the make-up of Martian soil (useful for ISRU), experiments often show us better/other ways to go ahead with a future mission.

Update 1.8.1 is out now! After a long, long wait, 1.8.1 is finally out. Biomes, science blurbs and a whole host of other small, but interesting, features can all be found in 1.8.1! Downloads 1. Choose one of the two available mirrors for Outer Planets Mod (the CKAN version should get the update within the day, probably within a few hours) 2. Download Kopernicus, which is a third-party mode required for OPM to work This version of OPM was designed with Kopernicus 0.4.0 in mind. Keep this in mind. Here's the full changelog: -Add biomes to Thatmo and Nissee -Added science blurbs for Thatmo and Nissee -Added science blurbs to earlier bodies -Added an actually working version of the AVC version file -Updated resource configs for Community Resource Pack compatibility, courtesy of Olympic1 -Added discovery messages for the ResearchBodies mod, courtesy of Olympic1 -Rebalanced the time warp limits for the OPM bodies, courtesy of Olympic1 -Changed adiabatic index of OPMs atmospheric bodies for better FAR compatibility -Fixed a spelling error in the description for Nissee -Updated ModuleManager to version 2.6.8 The future Here's what we have in store for the future: Reinvent the Plock system. No longer will it just be a carbon copy of Vall: Plock will receive a new look, based on the observations of the real Pluto by the New Horizons probe. It will also receive a Charon-analog called Karen, with which it will be in a binary configuration like the real Pluto and Charon. Add atmospheric haze to Thatmo. Due to very small atmosphere, it's hard to get any atmospheric glow to appear. Future releases of Kopernicus should have more features that would allow me to finetune this glow/haze, so that will be implemented in the future.

MrHappyFace, my mod's users have been coming to me about weird things happening to Jool. It seems to be related to KopernicusExpansion. Someone in this thread already mentioned it: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/132390-WIP-Kopernicus-Expansion-v0-1-2-comets-animated-gas-giants-and-more?p=2248687&viewfull=1#post2248687. Could you perhaps take a look at this?

Four things: 1. I think these recent bugs are Kopernicus issues, so head over to that thread first 2. I got that job I was spending so much of my time getting the past few weeks! 3. Outer Planets Mod has been downloaded more than 100,000 times between KerbalStuff and CurseForge. What an unforgettable milestone! Thanks a lot everyone, this mod wouldn't be half it was without all of your input! 4. I finished the biomes for Neidon's moons, so we can get the crowd-sourced science description process started! 1.8.1 is one step closer. Here's how it works: Below is a link to a Google Docs spreadsheet. This has three relevant sheets. Info and Moon Background can't be edited and are designed to help you. They contain biome maps, moon backgrounds, etc. Everything you need to write the science descriptions. The Neidon Biomes sheet is the place where you submit your descriptions. It should all be pretty straightforward. Ideally we'd rather have you fill out empty situations instead of writing a blurb for a situation that already has a blurb, but if you have an description that's just too amazing, there is room for a second description. If you have questions, you can always PM me. Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J_xgrPoqJSqvvdzgOqNlwmj0aabSVGda8hZLRu9VhsE/edit?usp=sharing

Sorry for the lack of attention and updates recently. Been very busy with RL and other projects. One-and-a-half months of job insecurity is hopefully going to be over within a week (fingers crossed). I'm planning to get the biome maps done this weekend, so that the crowd-funded science description process can begin. That's a big part of 1.8.1, so if that's out of the way the next update will be a lot closer to release.

Thanks for all the hard work Frizzank. One of my favorite mods of all time!

Haven't tried rovers on my bodies yet, so I have no idea if it's a bug or just a result of gravity or something. Have you had similar results with rovers on other bodies with similar gravity? If it's not a bug, then you would have similar problems on for example the Mun, which has even weaker gravity.
