  1. Perhaps. I played thousands of hours of KSP over the last decade. It's my most played game by a huge margin. I've also been building around the bugs I've encountered and have seen reported. I'll try building some ships to intentionally antagonise the kraken as an experiment. But some of the collapsing ship videos I've seen really don't seem like they should have been that fragile.
  2. Ahh. I managed to rename a vessel, but I crashed it soon afterwards so didn't notice whether it held the name.
  3. There's a performance issue with fuel moving between tanks. So both fuel lines and multiple engines drawing from the same tank are impacted. Asparagus staging is probably best avoided until these issues are resolved else you'll see a significant drop in FPS.
  4. I'm one of the people that hasn't experienced some of the very aggravating sounding issues with rockets disassembling themselves or with struts not working. I've built launchers with solid boosters and held them steady with struts. I haven't had KSC follow me anywhere either. I find it difficult to believe that it could have anything to do with how I build and design my ships. It must be hardware related somehow. Maybe different chipsets or driver versions are causing issues with the game engine?
  5. I think they stay allocated to the vessel. Load the recovered design in the VAB and see if they're still in the ship (Kerabls assigned to a ship are removed from the list of available Kerbals).
  6. Open the vessel you want to copy, use Ctrl+c. Load the other save, go to the workspace and use Ctrl+v. You can also paste into a text file to save the vessel as a json file for backup/easy sharing.
  7. Make sure persistent debris isn't set to 0 in the settings. I changed it to 0 to have a clean Kerbin orbit and it broke being able to EVA for me.
  8. My tactic is to intentionally overshoot the landing zone, and then apply trust towards the horizon when nearly over the landing site, and then descend vertically onto to target (its easier to slow down than speed up in an atmosphere). This isn't fuel efficient and requires keeping a stage with engines until the last minute, which will be harder once re-entry heating is added. One alternative is trial and error with quick saves until you get a gut feel for it.
  9. This is a difficult balancing act. I've worked in software development for 2 decades, my experience tells me that it's better to improve quality in a meaningful way than it is to make quick updates and risk introducing severe bugs. I can only speak for myself, but I support the careful and considered approach. Please continue to report progress on confirmed bug fixes, it goes anlong way to inspiring patience.
  10. My theory is that the kraken, the god of physics, created the kerbals just so it could mess with their rockets because it was bored.
  11. I got KSP1 after the demo came out around 0.13. Look at the the patch notes list below. It was absolutely this bad. https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Version_history#v0.13.2
  12. It's ok to be disappointed, it's ok to be frustrated. By all means vent. But obviously it's not fundamentally broken if you played 20 hours . I've had a lot of fun so far. Yes it's full of bugs, and I'm disappointed at the state of the game too. But buying an EA game is always a gamble. Truth is we don't know all the reasons that led the the current state of the game, telling the devs they should feel shame is taking the frustration too far in my opinion. You can either have faith that things will get better, or accept you made a bad gamble. But the devs are people, and regardless of the current situation the best way forwards is constructive feedback.
  13. Make sure your wings are set only to roll and put them in line with your CoM. It will help prevent unwanted pitching when rolling. Put yaw and pitch control surfaces as far away from CoM as possible to increase their effectiveness. Have your wings in a very slight Y shape so your CoL is slightly above your CoM, it will aid in flight stability. Wing shape is important. For subsonic speeds narrow wings with a long wingspan are the best for lift. But you want a delta shape for supersonic flight stability (not sure how important this is in KSP2 currently). Edit: Keep CoT in line with CoM so you don't pitch whilst under thrust
  14. In KSP1 ore was pretty common and spread out over the planets. I get the impression we'll be getting multiple resources to mine in KSP2. If they make them more localised it will give us reasons to visit specific places on planets. If their distribution is randomly generated, they could tie it in to the scatter system, so different terrain scatter objects signify the presence of different resources to gather. That might give us reasons to explore different terrain features. That said, I'm expecting a scansat type approach to resource finding like we had in KSP1.
  15. I'm hoping that: 1) they lowered the scatter count due to the terrain rendering performance issues and it will be improved once performance is resolved 2) the science and exploration updates will include more things to find and do on the planets and moons
  16. I don't like wobble, but it does give you a good visual clue as to what went wrong with the design. As long as the failure screen is clear in explaining which joins broke I'd rather have minor flexing but not wobbly.
  17. Thanks for the info, I was only looking at the KSP2 section, didn't see the announcements one at the top.
  18. They need an announcements channel on the discord if it's going to be to main source of communication. Trying to find posts by dev accounts in the general channel isn't easy.
  19. My expectations for the first patch will be for hard crashes and bugs that are preventing people from playing at all. I'd expect it to be another week or two after that before we get some of the gameplay bugs fixed. My personal opinion is that I'd rather they take some time properly testing the gameplay bug fixes rather than rushing the patches out. After how the launch was received, if the first patches break more things it will cause even more drama and frustration.
  20. Have you set max persistent debris to 0? When I did that I couldn't eva anymore.
  21. In one of the ESA event interviews (Matt Lownes I think), Nate said they're reworking the terrain rendering. So I suspect they are well aware of this issue.
  22. I've been running KSP2 directly from the executable to bypass the launcher, so steam won't show my activity anymore. I bet I'm not the only one doing this.
