  1. Since 1.0.x did very weird things to my game initially I have high hopes for the latest release. I'll give it a try soon.
  2. No. If a planet would spin that fast centrifugal force would exceed gravity. Objects would literally fall up. The planet would rip itself apart.
  3. "Bargain Rocket Parts mod for 0.24" A mod that old might is most likely not compatible with 1.0.5. A LOT has changed since Augustus 2014.
  4. The images talks about 3 per axle so I wondered how they'd manage that. Being a truck driver myself I am very familiar with double tires. Three on each side makes indeed a lot more sense. Still, without making the car insanely wide three wheels on each side leaves very little room in between for the drive train. Let alone the steering.
  5. A car that 'looks' like this should definitely be technologically possible. And it would drive and steer reasonable well. But 19 engines, three steering wheels and three wheels per axle? WTF, three per axle? I don't think that's actually feasible.
  6. Taurus HCV has 3.75m pods and labs. Including a nice 3.75 nuclear engine.
  7. This sounds very similar to what I experienced. When I tried landing near my Mun base the camera moved focus to the base. Very similar to what you say except my also lander vanished. What happens when you triy to transmit science or an experiment? For me the procedure started but never finished.
  8. Why no permanent colony on the moon? Why not to Mars? Why no nuclear fusion? Why still fossil fuel? One word: MONEY! In the end everything comes down to money. As long as there are cheaper alternatives and as long people are not willing to spend the extra cash nothing will be done.
  9. I am actually quite underwhelmed. I expected a much bigger explosion. But you have already answered your own question. The extreme heat of the molten salt flash-boils some of the water. And since water is incompressible the energy is passed directly to the glass. If you want a BIG boom you throw a cup of water in a pot of boiling oil over an open flame.
  10. In the VAB/SPH take any manned pod you wish. Add a single pipe connector to it. Launch. EVA and 'grab' the pipe. Start walking. As soon as it turns red you'll know you've exceeded the maximum distance. Look back at the pod and see how far you have walked. It really is not that hard to figure things out.
  11. A hydraulic braking system can fail causing the stricken elevator to fall. A better option would be to use eddy current brakes. No liquids, no brake pads, nothing that can fail. As soon as the power or the tension on the lifting cable is lost the magnets should 'grab' the rails and the elevator will be gently lowered to the ground.
  12. In this Chinese case it was the maintenance team that shut down the elevator. Unfortunately for the lady they 'forgot' to check if the elevator cars where empty.
  13. Many elevators have escape hatches, usually in the ceiling. However most can only be opened from the outside by rescue personnel. Even if you manage to open such a hatch it is still extremely dangerous to try and escape that way. You'll be in an exposed elevator shaft without any guarantee of a nearby exit. Climbing up or down may result in a faster than planned descent.
  14. Sorry but there is no 'hard mode' either because this is incredibly easy. Simply use the [Alt]+[W / S] to trim your pitch. Any reasonably designed plane can be kept level with proper trimming for an extended period of time.
  15. True. But when you pick the wrong music people will kill a video very quickly as well despite the contents. There are several people (to keep the peace I won't name any by name) that make great video's but have a terrible taste in music. Others simply do not have the right voice or think they are WAY funnier than the actually are. Constantly dropping F-bombs won't help either.
  16. I just tested my theory. I landed a craft on a Minmus hill just over 2700m. I set the ascent guidance altitude to 2500m (200m lower than my current altitude!) and targeted my Minmus station. As it's supposed to do the ascent guidance waited correctly to launch into plain. But as soon as it was time to launch exactly as expected instead of launching it flipped over the craft, ignited the engine and ran it into the ground. @Loren Pechtel @sarbian MechJeb did exactly what it was supposed to do. This was pure input error.
  17. Reverting back to 0.2.10 work as expected, everything is back to where it was before the update. Sorry, don't have any log files and I have no idea if re-installing 1.0.2 will reproduce it. Any of the several dozen mods or customizations I have installed could have been the culprit. If more people report similar behaviour just give me a call and I'll try to reproduce it and we can start digging. Until then don't worry, 0.2.10 is still great. With KSP 1.1 I'll restart from the ground anyway, hopefully with a fully compatible KSPB.
  18. Very weird things started to happen at my Mun and Minmus bases with the new KBPS. Window lights switched off whenever I returned to my base and when landing a craft near one it vanished whenever it came within physics range. Sadly I had to revert back to 0.2.10. I really like the new parts but considering the work required to completely replace my bases I'd rather wait a few more weeks till KSP1.1. Luckily I made a back-up before I changed versions so nothing is lost.
  19. If you have 10 cartons of eggs and there are 6 eggs in each carton. How many eggs do you have? If you have 12.04 mol of C3H8 and there are 3 carbon atoms in each propane molecule. How many mol carbon do you have? Sorry but this is VERY basic chemistry. If you think you know enough chemistry to be doing calculations with mols you really should know this.
  20. Booting up KBPS 1.0.1 now. Now they're back again. This has been one of my favourite mods ever since I first saw it. Keep up the good work @Nils277.
  21. Too bad. The new Central Hub doesn't fit in an ILC-18k KAS container. Oh well. At least now I have to actually think about how I get one to my base on Minmus.
