Damn I cant watch those vids on my Mac.. What did he say exactly?
-
Really? Can you show a link to the devs saying that the building is needed to make it happen more often? And what about this quote?: It sets up everything we need to do for the giant project we're currently working on. It's the framework.
-
Guys this comment alone says we wont be disappointed: "something that we believe is really cool... probably among the coolest things we've done in the game."
-
Having just read THIS I am sure its not sploding kerbals! Quotes: something that we believe is really cool... probably among the coolest things we've done in the game. It's pretty big and complex in the groundwork, but the gameplay is not very complex. It sets up everything we need to do for the giant project we're currently working on. It's the framework. EDIT* This guys comment pricked up my nasal hairs: Maxmaps likes to give out one word hints in stuff like this. In his tweet prior to announcing SP+ there was the word 'plus'. In this little quote he has here is the word 'groundwork' which seems to fit into the idea that it will be craters from impact and/or deformable terrain.
-
You certainly can! And yeah considering the tiny amount of parts left after a crash it doesn't make any sense and it certainly isn't funny.
-
I'm 100% sure its not that. Or part damage. In fact, if it is part deformation I will eat my hat.
-
Me three but my spider senses are tingling.
-
I could be TOTALLY wrong but I believe I saw a clue to what the .25 secret thing could be in the latest dev notes. "the new testers are looking forward to getting their hands mucky with the goo of many, many Kerbals." When a Kerbal impacts the ground he will spode into green goo. What say you?

Cool! Ive always wanted to make a tiny shuttle. Does the cargo bay re-dock?

Nobody is crying and swearing mate.. The game should not have counter intuitive features. We are all aware that KSP is not a full simulation but elements such as drag based on contents are clearly errors that should be fixed. The aero model will be fixed soon so it makes sense to point these things out. What could you possibly have against that? You really should try the fix that snuggler is talking about. Its like night and day.
-
The Stock drag model doesn't work. Its totally broken. Calculating drag based on the contents of a fuel tank is just wrong and causes the kinds of problems that Snuggler suggested. This is a FACT no amount of ignoring the argument will make it better Kasuha. The drag model is broken plain and simple. What you seem to be suggesting is to just ignore the problem and build craft taking this very broken system into account. This is not a solution. Imagine you go to the doc with a broken finger and all he said was "don't use that finger". Not a sensible or intelligent suggestion.

Thanks guys! Katateochi, after I was challenged to make this your video gave me hope that it can be done and inspiration to do it. Yeah the SPR rover is great! Handles really well and turns on a dime. No issues with the double wheels. The low center of gravity helps a lot with stability. I'm sure most of you have seen the RL SPR rover. For those who have not here is a comparison: I have yet to try it on the Mun but I will. Does anyone know if it was planned to be used with Altair?

Watch the live launch of NASAs SMAP sattelite.
Majorjim! replied to Majorjim!'s topic in Science & Spaceflight
No launch? EDIT, Its a lecture, NOOOOOO Sorry guys. -
35mins till liftoff! WATCH IT HERE What the F is SMAP? NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive, or SMAP, is a remote sensing mission designed to measure and map Earth's soil moisture distribution and freeze/thaw state with unprecedented accuracy, resolution, and coverage. Using a single satellite launched into a near-polar, low altitude orbit, SMAP's state-of-the-art radar and radiometer sensors will peer beneath clouds, vegetation, and other surface features to create global maps of these measurements every 2-3 days over a period of three years. Data from SMAP will be used in an extraordinary variety of important scientific applications and research, addressing weather forecasting and climate modeling, drought, flood and landslide predictions, agricultural productivity, and seasonal climate-related human health issues.

Thank you for the blisters. Oh yeah, and for the bestest game ever!
