  1. There are only 4 ways to lose contact (that I know of. in b4 someone tells me the 5th, 6th, and 7th way I forgot about) without doing something intentional: Out of power. Check yer batteries. Out of range. Check yer signal strength. If you have a save from before it happened load it and check the strength there to see if it's low and getting lower. Something is in the way. If you got to Mars and are behind it from Earth's perspective. All your tracking stations are on the other side of Earth. If I had to guess I'd say #2, likely due to the larger size of the Real Solar System and possibly due to not having your antennas beefed up to compensate.
  2. More questions... Do you have Contract Configuraror installed? Maybe it's a borked custom contract. Or, maybe it's a normal contract and the orbit was high enough for Mun, but too low for the Moon. What's the highest point on the Moon in RE anyway?
  3. Is there any long-term study of the ACen system of the types we have used for other systems to determine the planets there? If not, why not? If so, what did they find?
  4. Another thing I notice. "Last seen" That's just weird. I don't pay much attention and don't do much of these rescues, but I don't recall ever seeing that text on anything recovered. If you post your save somewhere and it doesn't require a ton of mods I don't have, I'll load it up and take a look. Actually I see you're using RSS or something? As I admit I don't always pay enough attention, you and the contract have both been saying "Moon" and "Earth" So I won't be able to load it, but maybe I can look at the text.
  5. Are you sure that's an orbital rescue? Looks to me like it's on the Mun's surface.
  6. This looks amazing. I'm a bit shocked that nobody replied for almost a week unless you did some kind of stealth release where you titled the post "Listen to my Podcast" or something else you knew no one would ever click on, until just recently. I'll be trying this out for sure in the near future, it's kind of what I always wanted kOS to be, just scripting without all the rigamarole.
  7. You are correct. The only reason to put batteries on a comm sat over those required to get it to its destination (usually 0) is if that sat is also fulfilling some contract that requires batteries on the craft.
  8. Gotcha! I got to the end and saw no reason to withhold your place on the leaderboard any longer! Congrats! That ship on the launchpad was huge. I'm surprised it even reached orbit. Well done!
  9. @jost Not that it puts your entry in jeopardy or anything I'm just curious, near the end of the Laythe mission you have a pic of a relay around Pol, what's its purpose? Is that your only connection back home or something?
  10. MechJeb's landing is never as fuel-efficient than mine. You may have done better on your own there And congrats! I'm looking through the pics now and will update the leaderboard when done!
  11. What benefits, other than avoiding forgetting it exists and therefore never buying it or playing it totally by accident, do you expect a pre-order to grant you?
  12. I meant the cabin next door. I mean sure not every cabin had a replicator but more than 1 did, and if they are ALL broken you're likely in more trouble than having a broken replicator.
  13. It's pretty forgiving, really. Just test it with several maneuver nodes to get a feel for it. At a rough guess I'd say 15-30 degrees on either side would not incur losses so big as to make me personally wait, so long as I had the dV available.
  14. 1st question, it won't cause any problems with contracts. Once you complete the contract they don't care. 2nd question, you want to leave Mun when your orbit is parallel to mun's orbit, and burn prograde as you're going the same direction as Mun. use maneuver nodes to make sure you burn in the right place. It doesn't take very much to reach Minmus from Mun. you may have a harder time keeping your resultant transfer orbit from going too high. That's for the timing of your ejection based on where you are on Mun, but the timing for when Mun and Minmus are in the right location relative to each other is a bit trickier. I personally would just eject when it was convenient and fiddle with my Kerbin orbit to reach Minmus later. Takes a bit more dV but it's more seat-of-your-pants which is my style.
  15. Actually it's more like the show - or any other sci-fi tv show since - wouldn't exist otherwise. McCoy's hand-held medical scanners were SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS fercrhrissakes, and you want airless planets?
  16. I sincerely hope so, at least the part about having a good laugh.
  17. And when that happens other potential providers of free services will be less likely to be so generous.
  18. Exactly! If I were with Star Theory I'd have put little clues all over the place that no one should look for because they're not there because I'm not with Star Theory.
  19. I know what you're thinking: "Did he do three negatives or only two?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is about KSP2, the most important development since the original was announced, and the mere concept of speaking to a developer of it would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do you, punk?
  20. I frequently dock without mods. I even made a tutorial for it.
  21. We're about to start eating, as soon as the stuffing comes out of the oven. The whole house smells like glorious. Sadly no wine, as the second I'm done eating I have to start a full work "day"
  22. I doubt the YouTube Should Be, Like, FREE, Man party will get a large enough portion of the votes.
