Option to screenshot as jpg.
Bilfr3d replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
You want the developers to add in an option to select between JPG and PNG screenshot formats? Sure, why don't you just go ahead and pay for the wages spent in designing the now selection option, implementing the selection option, testing the selection option and for the increased time in building a release from this extra added bit of design and code. Although it may not seem much, it could potentially be one factor of many as a reason for squad to increase what they are currently charging to purchase KSP. Besides, what would you rather? An option to save your screenshots as PNG or JPG, or cargo bays. I mean, come one. Just convert the images yourself. Nuff said. -
[1.1] BDArmory v0.11.0.1 (+compatibility, fixes) - Apr 23
Bilfr3d replied to BahamutoD's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
This... looks.... AMAZING!! Just downloaded it, can't wait to give it a spin. -
How... HOW did you get it to spin like that? That is amazing...
-
I thought it always did. If it doesn't work for you, try taking out any other mods you have, and try reinstalling KSP. Infernal didn't work for me on 24.2, but once I reinstalled KSP, it worked fine.

FAR or NEAR, what do you use and why?
Bilfr3d replied to flamango247's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Is that a trademark regex? Hence why it is capitalised? FAR is for REAL men. That's why I use it. XP I haven't actually used NEAR, but from what I gather, NEAR is a bit less feared in terms of wings and tanks ripping off of your ship. -

You are not GregoxMun. You cannot drive the hypetrain. You must be trained by him first. I think this is still too early for a hypetrain anyway.

A good way to get funds to actually run missions: Accept ALL contracts on offer. Build a ship that just has tonnes of liquid fuel and eats up your entire budget Launch said ship. Don't add engines just leave it on the Launchpad. Go to space centre Cancel contracts Recover expensive craft PROFIT The ship acts like a bank during the cancelling of the contracts. Because you can't get negative funds.

To get any signatures on your account, you need a certain amount of posts first. I think its ten. After that, you can add an image, links, gifs. Anything within the boundary of the image size.... thing. Also, WELCOME to the forums!! ToTheMun

You should add turbo dismount to the list. It would be great for youtubing. XP

This happened to me before. Steam karked it in when I was downloading something, and said my peak was around what this one is. But the thing is, by internet is bandwidth limited to 196KB/s. that Kilobytes. per second. Horrible, I know.

That sounds really... complicated. Talk about realism. So you can't just go "WAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!" to another country? Damn... That's all good.
-
Whups, thought GTA V was out. XP Shows how much I know about the series . That's great it has an offline option than. Added to the list!!
-
Sort of looks like Age Of Empires and Sid Meirs (is that how you spell it?) Civilisation. I'll definitely give the demo a go, and see if I'll buy it from there.

Hey, 12 games is big for me. XD I don't earn much either, and my PC isn't very powerful. I'm about to get a gaming laptop, hence the reason why I ask what games I should get. All three of those look pretty good. Mainly Craft the world (not craft he world XP) and Planet Explorers. Elite Dangerous looks amazing. I am definitely adding that to my list.

I have been looking a little bit at the entire GTA series. The main thing I am concerned about is if GTA IV and GTA V are online, because I am very rarely near an internet connection that I can use to play online. Most of the time, I am in transit when I play my games. If it has offline compatibility, that will be great though. Then I'll look at getting the entire GTA series. Well, not the entire series, but the good ones at least. Thanks for the recommendations Javster and r4pt0r. Although I don't know dishonoured, I'll have a look at it. And I definitely know of skyrim.

Ok. So, my Steam library is pretty big. Sort of. I have a total of 12 paid games in my Steam library. The main ones I play are: - KSP - Space Engineers - PAYDAY 2 - Portal 2 - Don't Starve - And Terraria Seeing this list of the main games I play on Steam, what would you suggest I get next? I can be either on origin or Steam, but I prefer Steam. I say that, because I am soon to be getting BF3 and BF4 Premium which is dealt through Origin. These main games I enjoy playing too. Especially KSP, Portal and PAYDAY. My current list of games I am going to get: - Elite Dangerous - Craft The World - Planet Explorers - GTA San Andreas - GTA IV - BF3 Premium - BF4 Premium Cheers, ToTheMun

In most cases, its both. For example, if you have a really great GPU but a horrible CPU (i.e. a Pentium ), you'll need to get a CPU upgrade for more FPS. If you have a killer CPU (Socket 2011 Inte i7 for example) but a bad GPU (integrated iGPU for example) then you are definitely going to need to get a better GPU for more frames. Usually you want both the CPU and GPU to be balanced in terms of power. For example, having a GeForce GTX760 and an Intel i5 core is a fairly balanced kit.

Circumnavigate Kerbin...BY FOOT.
Bilfr3d replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
By foot, do you mean make him travel the whole circumference of kerbin in feet rather than kilometres? Before anybody attempts this challenge (if anybody would even be bothered wasting the time) you need to show your attempt first. You obviously also haven't looked at the challenge posting guidelines or you have completely ignored them. They are here. This challenge is already breaking two of the rules of submitting a challenge. Although this is possible, it will take a LONG time hence making it impossible for many people because they don't have the time to sit in front of their computer and this is not fun. This challenge is very impractical and a mod should lock this challenge. -
I +1 the idea of making Jeb push. It has worked well for me

Yeah, I was thinking about using fibre cards instead. The dual RAIDs would also slow things down a bit.

Just a quick question here. If I set up 4 identical computers. Each has 6x 3Tb HDD in a RAID 6, a 60Gb SSD for the OS and another 60Gb SSD for cache. Each kit has 2 1GbE ports in a teem, running an iscsi link to a managing computer. Now, on the managing computer, would it be possible to use a software RAID, and make the 4 iscsi links in a single RAID 5? This would be to increase overall uptime, because there would be the hardware RAID on the kits managing the RAID 6 on the individual kits. Then the software RAID on the management computer RAIDing the 4 iscsi links into a single RAID 5, so in the case more than two HDDs fail on a kit before they can be replaced, a hot spare kit kicks in, until you replace the two (or more) HDDs on the failed system. Than that system you just repaired would become the hot-spare in the iscsi link. All in all, would this work?
-
Did you get your ideas from the star wars crafts?? They look very similar.... VERY similar... also, great work.

Get a 4Tb External HDD and copy everything onto that. That's the simplest "real backup". If you want a HDD in the computer that just serves as a backup drive, perhaps make a batch file that's copies the files you want to backup, and schedule it to run at a certain type of day, or make it run on shutdown so that it holds the shutdown back until it is complete. Just a few ways of a "real" backup, but there are plenty more ways out there. It just depends on what is easiest for you and if you would rather go for assured backup or a cost-effective backup.
