How do people create those fancy KSP cinematics?

The now unkept mod KerbCam is what I used for my cinematics. I think Camera Tools does just about everything needed now though. For aesthetic/other useful mods, try: EVE, Scatterer, WindowShine, DistantObjectEnhancement, PlanetShine, sound enhancement mods, HotRockets, CoolRockets, and time control mods. Best of luck! -

Long answer to that xD. To some things up yes you can get KSPRC working in 1.0.2 if you update its dependencies individually.

I'm discovering that the TR reflection plugin seems to ignore normal maps on parts if the "window" portion of the piece isn't defined as a separate mesh from the base part. I'll have to live with that for WindowShine.

MOARdV I converted all of your RPM textures to optimized dds and sent them to you in a message. I'm not sure if you've gotten them yet . I've been trying to optimize my memory usage and have been using them myself with much success.

It sounds as though you're deleting the whole texture, except the windows. Either that or when you're merging the window layer down you're merging the whole page, and thus overwriting the layers below. The windows being in the wrong place might be because of saving in .dds but not flipping the image over (png's you save right side up and dds you save flipped vertically).

Dude!! Three light green bars now! Thank you everyone! I'm glad you're all enjoying this so much. I went from a player, to a streamer, and now into a low tier Modder. I never would've imagined MAKING a mod when I first started and the support you all have for this is mind-boggling. Keep posting any issues you might have, I'll do my best to help out. I've gotten the mod pushed for release, but the question remains as to if I can handle the pressure behind it. Let's hope so. EDIT: I'm away from my computer for this weekend, so I won't be able to test any of the solar panel reflection issues some people are having. I'll do a complete re-install test when I get back. If you could post which operating system/opengl/64bit/dx11 that could help in pinpointing the problem.

Do you have ModuleManager? I forgot to add that to dependencies Are you using any other mods? I suggest trying a fresh install with MM and and TR. I've also had some issues with broken saves with the same glitches in the past.

That GIF was posted by one of the guys on the facebook page. From that picture I can see he's using Proot's Renaissance pack, old Environmental Visual Enhancements, Windowshine (or another form of TR reflections), and most important to that shot, a mod called GEM-FX. It adds more realistic lighting and blurring as well as a dirt/flare effect. There's an outdated and glitchy version of it on the forum but there was a copy posted on the forum (by the same guy) that I was lucky to get my hands on. It's not being openly distributed mainly because I don't think anyone knows who really "owns" the rights. If you ask on the FB page someone might get you the link. EDIT: I don't think embedding would hurt the forum... TextureReplacer's reflections don't work with OpenGL so I'm surprised the cockpits work at all...

One thing that should be noted, is that I'm fairly certain stock KSP planet textures support reflections in the same way as TR's reflections. I noted when converting Endraxial's planets that all the liquid-ocean bodies had the terrain completely invisible with Alpha-channel. I removed the transparency when I converted first and I noticed that all the liquid-ocean planets had very reflective terrain (stock KSP light source reflection, not mirror reflection). I didn't remove the Alpha-channel transparency in the most recent update and though I haven't checked, I'm betting the terrain reflections are gone now. Could be useful information to note.

I think those are in the mod "KSC++". I haven't tested it out at all though. (and I'm not sure if these are the palm trees you are referring to lol). Yes you are entirely correct on how the reflections work. I'm not sure how I would get KSP/TR to load a second "reflective overlay" texture, but doing so would help a ton with my OCD as well as taking better advantage of RAM/memory. Doing reflections by making the whole part reflect but only the windows reflecting visibly just seems like a shoddy way of doing it. Shoddy maybe, but also the only way haha. I actually went through the MM patch and reorganized everything into how they show sorted by title. Not too hard! Thanks again for starting that off.

It's this kind of thing that really makes a physics simulating game impressive. Maybe KSP doesn't simulate newton balls perfectly, but accurate rotational spin is something I marvel at. Nicely done SQUAD . -

I just did a complete redownload of my textures and those ones and they are all literally the exact same resolution and textures... I did a re convert and upload of all of them anyways (as well as adding in Endraxial's more favorite Tylo texture and fixing the "surface shine" on liquid ocean planets-[was caused by Alpha-channel transparency which I removed]). Upload will be done in a bit.
