  1. Hey man, I just wanted to say that your Jool ascent has been a bit of an icon for myself and a number of other streamers out there. We where all chatting in discord and started nerding out over that challenge. I saw you're still active and I thought you might like to hear that your old thread is still making jaws drop :)

Thanks, and yes it was an insane mission.

Will never be able to top it :(

Did some mistakes like the LV-N upper stage but that just make the things more insane

  2. Many thanks, and best of luck Drew. I never knew you where in cahoots on KerbalMaps - TIL
  3. Eh, I like to be patient - I'd rather have an update that Sarbian's chose to make on his time then an update that was forced/rushed. Doing something you don't like burns you out.
  4. His art style is beautiful and the new models he made are amazing, I just wish they didn't change the stock colliders and parameters. They change the game too much from stock and as thus I don't use them. I like to be able to do everything in my modded installs that I could do in bone stock as well. Ven's revamp is too much of a jump for people like me.
  5. Oh XDDDDD - Those parts are made by Ven - images of his mod here. The compatibility pack makes the windows reflect on his new part models.
  6. Ah okay - in that picture the cabin lights can turn on and the green highlighting is still on parts. Right now if you add reflections to a part the cabin lights won't turn on and the parts won't glow when you hover over them. That image isn't a screenshot though, it's in Unity. It isn't a mod yet because I can't code. I need someone else to add it for me :/
  7. Do you mean Eclipses? TextureReplacer just replaces textures it doesn't muck with shadows at all
  8. and you could take it a step further and raise a little bit of PR by quoting more famous YouTubers or modders if they liked you mod and commented on it. Hmmm @UomoCapra? So you don't have to search:
  9. lol - this reminds me of an old campfire story I used to tell about the vinder viper
  10. Hm... just thought of a forum feature that would possibly solve a lot of communication issues - might be cool if there was a way to *sticky* a comment to the top of a thread I.E. if a mod owner has left the community and a new thread hasn't been started yet you can sticky the post saying the owner left, or sticky a reply with an unofficial updated version. - Same could be useful if you don't want to update the main page of a mod but you/someone's released an unofficial patch. Random musing
  11. OMG!!! Can I add that to the mods list? Awesome job. For the life of me I couldn't get them working
  12. xD I delete them too lol - They are quite pretty though but I'm more of a fan on keeping Kerbin the way it is in stock - cityless. I'm all about adding in clouds and beautiful atmosphere though.
  13. Hm :/ Well, I guess it'd be the soft glow around each planet. Eve had a green tint, Duna had purple/red (Not quite as intense as this), Kerbin blue, Jool green, the thing was that every planet had it, not just the ones with atmosphere. Pol had a very slight orange haze over it, Eeloo white, Etc. I made my own cloud pack for a short time but dropped it when Nhawks17 started up SVE - I don't like to compete with friends . - sadly though new EVE has completely removed the atmosphere haze feature so I fear it isn't doable anymore. It's just, KSP no matter how realistic it can get I feel it still needs some bit of fantasy and the haze gives the game a very nice, unrealistic, but beautiful glow. Hm, should I send you a PM? There's a couple of changes I wanted to ask about SVE actually and it might be better to chat in a PM again
  14. I don't know if it's weird of me, but I actually really liked the "unrealistic" aesthetic of old EVE :/ This appearance: It's unrealistic, but in that aspect I really like it. Might just be that I'm biased for it because it was what came first though, but either way I still liked old EVE better :/ - all except for the new cloud system which now is better suited for HD.
  15. Another way to do multiplayer that would be far simpler would be a "company leaderboard" for the different rocket companies. When you start a career mode you can sponsor one of the different rocket companies and whatever you do would effect how well said company does against others in terms of K.I.A., Science yield, mission length, part count, etc? Might be interesting.
  16. I edited my last message a bit since you posted that quote too - The way the reflection .cfg works right now is that it applies reflections to every mesh name you list, and if you leave it blank it applies it to everything (I think). Like I mentioned in PMs I'd be totally okay with this except for the fact that reflections bug out when placed on the flag. It'd be sweet if instead of placing reflections on every part you mention in the .cfg, if it removed them from every part you mention in the .cfg. I.E. I would only list the flag mesh name (Which in most cases is just called "flag" or "flag1" and "flag2", and in many cases there isn't even a flag on the part). Anyways, that gif that I posted is using a completely new system from the last reflection shaders so it would need a redesigned plugin. TextureReplacer is weird in the fact that the shaders are actually wrapped up inside the .dll file, rather than being in a folder like almost everything else. Means the .dll file would basically need a complete redesign. Like I said though if someone decides to redesign the plugin, they'll be new co-owner of WindowShine. It's half of the mod.
  17. I don't think I quite understand what you mean by "my own version"? Version of WindowShine? I use the same thing as everyone else With the new shaders shown in that gif you wouldn't be able to as they actually add a completely new reflection overlay texture and as such it needs a new framework. I don't know anything about how KSP handles shaders sorry Should be one shader for everything. WindowShine is basically a glorified texturepack for TextureReplacer, it's just that WindowShine is pretty much the only mod that's using TRs reflection plugin. Basically as soon as I learned I could add reflections through TextureReplacer I sat down, learned the .cfg format, learned how to find internal mesh names, and then created new alpha channels for the squad textures. Wrapping all three of those together and I got WindowShine
  18. Lawl - cuz stock we be the same thing hm, on second thought I would keep it running for mod support most likely.
  19. I'd be all over stock realistic reflections. I'd drop WindowShine for stock reflections in a heartbeat
  20. *cough* did you say bigger?! I'd say the current giant wings need to be more modular rather than an even bigger variant lol
  21. Sort of related? I'm just happy to see that any type reflections have been added back - I don't think it's the updated shaders though, just a revitalization. @RangeMachine can you confirm?
