  1. Hole-eey... that's awesome! Will give it a go! Take some rep!
  2. That's awesome! Have some rep! I tried making an Energia for it (and making the appropriate modifications to the Orbiter, of course), but found all the symmetry and stuff too complicated for my likings. Edit: can't give rep, it says I gave some to you (probably in the WIP thread, by GusTurbo)
  3. Just started this. I think I just accidentally copied GusTurbo, I tried radiallly attaching nose cones and added some other things, and got this! :0 EDIT: Finished the wings, still WIP, obviously. I'm supposed to be doing homework but am getting carried away with this... I somehow did better than expected and this may be my best Space Shuttle attempt yet! :DS
  4. Watched the first couple episodes, but they got too off-topic. If I wanted to learn about doggie evolution, I'd watch a show about it.
  5. That's a shame, I up-rated it 5 stars... you're dedication to his is incredible! I've never liked it when sites have up-vote/down-vote systems of the like. If it's just a like button only that's cool, but dislikes can really make the OP feel bad (if you're sensitive to those things).
  6. Whoops, I think I meant the person above you. I meant Darnok. For some reason I thought that was all one post, or something!
  7. Anyways, I like mods, both parts and plug-ins. I only use stock parts for most of the craft I release on the forums (excluding the Real Solar System replicas). I use the modded parts for my YouTube videos. A lot of plug-ins I couldn't live without -- Kerbal Engineer Redux, Kerbal Alarm Clock, Toolbar, Docking Port Alignment Indicator, etc. Anyways, mod list below. 8. I lol'ed at the UFO. Great work though, it's like a UFO made of umbrellas -- they're retractable! Great work, buddy.
  9. I've gotten so used to the grey tanks around here that the gold looks weird to me (yes, I know they're gold in real life -- I'm a space nut! ) Great work on this! Do you also happen to be Polish? I see the flag in the VAB, haha. I actually have Polish ancestry -- granddad and grandma are both from Poland. Sorry to be off topic! Looks great, the lander is awesome!
  10. Are there instructions on how to install the Engine Thrust Controller? I know it's probably simple, I just don't know where to put the DLL.
  11. Kerbalized SLS Block I (real Block I doesn't use Liquid Boosters). Creatively called Uh-Ryan MCPV (based off of Orion MPCV) Thread here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/77259-Uh-Ryan-MPCV-with-Kerbal-Launch-System-%28KLS%29%21
  12. Does it still let people not using the mod load it? I've always been "intrigued" by TweakableEverything, but want to keep the craft stock (since stock craft are accessible to everyone, not saying mods are bad )
  13. Yeah, they work well with a little trickery and cleverness. The good kind, of course. I REALLY wish they would have introduced a new size -- 1.875 meters -- for the new boosters. HGR (Home Grown Rocket parts) has it and it works quite well. The other reasons are it's quite close in proportions to 4.2 meter parts (again, 4.125 would make sense and should have been used rather than 3.75 meters, it's more closely proportional to the S-IVB stage and SLS/STS core stages). They could also work well core the core stage of a Soyuz rocket. Anyways, didn't mean to get off topic Giggleplex, sorry. 1.25 is actually the right size with a 2.5 meter ET (1.875 boosters and a 4.125 ET would be good, with bigger space plane parts). You've done a fantastic job on this and the new improvements only make it better!!
  14. You've done it again, Majorjim! Checking if it's been long enough to give more rep to you!! The no-fairings nuclear engines should be really useful as well... Edit: yep!
  15. Stack just enough reaction wheels (inside the ET works well) to balance the Space Shuttle and its payload, but not too many so the mass stays low (keeping the payload fraction reasonably efficient!!) . By the way, iDan122, great job -- both on the ISS and Skylon!
  16. Thanks Lack, you're the best!! I was using the Jool V parts and the skinny and thin separator had trouble decoupling (read: didn't decouple at all). Do you know the cause of this? It's quite a heavily modded install, but mostly with parts. No Kerbal Joint Reinforcement or Ferram Aerospace Research or anything.
  17. Sorry Porkjet, I didn't mean to rush you. I just liked that cool Blackbird look to it!!
  18. I think they're from the KW Rocketry pack, not sure. Anyways, they can easily be swapped out for 1.25 meter stock nosecones, and you've done a great job anyway! Interested to see what will come next!
  19. Excellent work! That's really cool and neat! Would you be willing to include some of the craft in the OP album, with the pack?
  20. It was not really that cheap. And SLS is not replacing the Space Shuttle, it is a heavy lift rocket similar to payload capacity of the Saturn V (Block II at least). Dream Chaser, Dragon, and CST-100 are the replacements for the Space Shuttle. I thought the same thing, but with a proper and traditional launch escape system, they SHOULD be able to abort rather quickly if they solid rocket boosters fail (which isn't likely, they've learned a lot about O-rings since then; another safety "feature" is that the Orion MPCV is not piggybacked, so there won't be any foam coming off and knocking away the heat shield... and the heatshield is already not exposed like the Space Shuttle's wings. Haha, you got those mixed up a bit. The J-2 was used on the Saturn V second stage in a cluster of five, and a single J-2 on the third stage. The Space Shuttle used SSME's (renamed RS-25 for the SLS), and they're using four (you're correct ) on the core stage. Block II of the SLS will use two J-2X engines (upgraded J-2 enginees) on the second stage (or third, counting the boosters). The F-1 engine from the S-IC stage (Saturn V first stage) is being modernized and made more "reliable" (even though the F-1 had no failures) and turned into a less complex (simpler) design. It's called the F-1B and is being developed by Dynetics and Aerojet Rocketdyne (formerly Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne when development began). Space Launch System Block II upper stage will be 8.4 meters wide. The first stage of the Saturn V was 10.1 meters wide. The SLS is not a waste of time, not at all. It is another step in the right directions for Mars, which if we don't get there, we are failing. Falcon Heavy doesn't have the Oomph, and the Falcon XX and such aren't even being developed, they're just concepts. They actually ARE making the SLS, it's going to happen.
  21. Delta-V indicators should very much be stock, albeit optional. I'm not usually a fan of the "If you don't like it, don't use it!!!" argument, but if it's just one part, that works similarly to how KER works then it would be totally harmless.
  22. The separation motors are just for show. Although, you're welcome to give them a shot. Seriously, if you're not up for that bit than don't do it, it seems complicated though. I'm not sure how many "faces" the nozzle is but you can go ahead and make a fancy new one.
  23. These are really nice! I must admit I'm a peaceful non-hostile/non-militaristic person but nonetheless these are quite cool!
