  1. First find where and when words "conspiracy theory" were used for the first time. Second... science doesn't bring evidence any more, in times when science was based on evidence nobody refused it, but now it is only matter of belief and interpretation. We still have no idea what is: - time - mass - does speed of light is constant - what is definition of species We are using time in every aspect of our life not only in science. Science is using mass everywhere, yet nobody knows what is it. No evidence that on Moon speed of light is same as on Earth. We belief in evolution that is based on unfinished concept of species.
  2. It was impossible, so far, for any empire to last longer than about 300 years, without major "renovation" of its laws and borders, what created wars and chances for its competition to grow stronger... you should look at this as on natural selection where few groups of animals are fighting for survival, each group is different empire. Different cultures are competition, but that is not something negative, it is main reason why Europe was so strong 500 years ago... because many small countries were trying "to be better" and they learned from each other how to be better in faster and cheaper ways. Problems became to grow when those countries conquered lots of lands and created colonies... became empires and failed to manage multi cultural empires... again. What we have today I would call stagnation in science, because we have only one way of thinking... "democracy good" and "anything else bad", same on economical layer, we see as good only one design for EVERY country, any other approaches are seen as dangerous to global economy. Same in science "Albert good" "climate change good" and anyone that doesn't agree with this is bad. While nature show us different approach, we have canguros in Australia and lions in Africa for a reason, if single solution would be good everywhere then we would have same animals on every continent. We should learn from nature and should have many different approaches on every layer of our life and natural selection would show which is best, just like in old days in Europe. Britain had more ships, than other countries, so for time when sea transport was much better solution than land transport Britain was strongest and richest country (sea transport is still great, so China and US today are two strongest economical powers). In space exploration while US (single country) was trying to beat Soviet UNION(!), notice that Soviet union was multi cultural empire! And look where it is now? Gone? And lost race to Moon, for same reason Roman empire is gone. Empires doesn't last long and they can't push development far... look how many inventions came from Germans... a single country, not a empire, that was trying to beat others, but once they expanded... and became multi cultural empire it didn't end well for them. I wonder when people in US and EU will start to learn from history.
  3. What? (490–570) asking Amr for the "books in the royal library." Amr writes to Omar for instructions, and Omar replies: "If those books are in agreement with the Quran, we have no need of them; and if these are opposed to the Quran, destroy them." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruction_of_the_Library_of_Alexandria Empire was attacked by barbarians because they saw its weakness. Empires fall because all man wants to be free and independent and once you force many nations to became one-country they will want to have their own countries, laws and they will rebel. We can't unite many nations, because many cultures, religions and ways of thinking disagrees with each other and that is good, this is main source of progress. Sadly from time to time we have some crazy people that forgets history and try to create multi cultural empires.
  4. "troops of Caesar accidentally burned the library down during or after the Siege of Alexandria in 48 BC" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruction_of_the_Library_of_Alexandria
  5. 1. But we had epidemics in Europe, so we will survive, don't worry. 2. USA over 50% global pollution, if you count in all their industry located outside of their borders. 3. Because our industry is developed in wrong direction. We should produce less products, but they should be more durable. It would cut resource, space and energy consumption of global industry. But those 15000 liters is not send to space, it is still on Earth. Also if you watched video I posted you should blame overweighted people for that, they eat too much.
  6. 1. Weakest won't survive, but that doesn't mean all life will end because of change of weather. 2. and how overpopulation in India or China can kill people in Europe? 3. and we will not hit overpopulation for a significant amount of time for entire Earth. Just because some places are overcrowded doesn't mean Earth is overpopulated. I read somewhere that if we would put all humans in Australia then every family would have private house and garden and Earth has more lands than just Australia.
  7. If climate change is natural then it won't be cause, because changes has happen before. Overpopulation? Where? How overpopulation could kill us while we have entire solar system of resources? OP this "Global warming/Volcanism" suggest that warming is caused by volcanism.
  8. Why would you use binary? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unary_numeral_system
  9. Where? Why would you use π on day-to-day arithmetic? It would be very wrong, for every day use you have integer based system.
  10. GMO plants and human DNA modifications will mutate, create virus that will kill every living thing on Earth. After virus lose its hosts it will also die.
  11. I would stay away from any images, except geometrical shapes (Platonic solid) or geometrical representation of math constants. Aliens probably do have history and culture and what if your image would contain one of their symbol? It is not hard to imagine how it could turns out if you would send gammadion cross or Neron cross in one of first messages. I would stay with my dots, only make message longer... but it should be something that even 6 year old kid would understand like . .. ... .... ..... (up to 10, since you want to show aliens you prefer 10-based system) (longer silence) . . .. .. .. .... ... ... ...... . .. ... .. . ... (longer silence) ... . .. ... .. . .... .. .. ..... ... .. ..... .. ... (longer silence) .. ... ...... ... .. ...... . .. .. .. . .. .. .. .... (longer silence) ........ .... .. ........ .. .... .... .. .. .. .. . .. . .. (starts from 10) .... ... .. . (repeat counting 1... 10) Even few years old kids should solve this and understand it is not random. Also this message won't tell too much about our level of development, it will only tell we are intelligent enough to know math.
  12. IMO you should have fixed payload... like 1t or 10t.
  13. (my paint skills are great, I know) It would be very basic way to communicate and learn each other symbols. I am 100% sure that aliens have to know geometry, so it would work pretty well if we would be able to present them images in face to face contact. Since π is know to us, while any aliens or human tribe living in, for example South America, doesn't know π symbol, but if they know math and geometry they can understand that image and they would also know that you know math and you can think about abstract constructs. Value of π is not important. I said we could send engraved golden disks with basic geometry tests. Good I am not arrogant enough to speak for any professor. Elemental masses is our concept, aliens can have different concepts and different equations. Ok, try to decipher ancient Egypt glyphs without Rosetta stone It is impossible? We knew it is not random noise, but this didn't bring us any closer to better understanding of those glyphs. I've suggested super simple message: . .. ... .... ..... (until 10 dots) and repeat that until someone responds. It can't be simpler and easier to send via radio waves and it would means "hey, I can count from 1 to 10, I can send radio waves and I am not afraid of letting you know where I am". Then all its resource will be mine... mouhahahaha.
  14. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-integer_representation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_numeral_systems It is basic and universal geometry question and you failed it.
  15. 0.5 is on axis, it is generated by my software. I used 1 as diameter and 10 as circumference. I noted I would simplify that image, basically to this (except of π symbol would be replaced by 10, and those red arrows are not needed).
  16. SETI does convert every received signal into every base system we do understand? Write few first primes in binary or trinary or 12-based system (you are using that system every day). My point is that aliens can measure different attributes of matter than we do. Maybe for them it is not important what mass has element. You are very biased to what you have learned and to way of thinking our science is going. While in other planets it might be very different, just look at humans writings... you are writing from left to right, but there are countries that wrote right to left or top to bottom. Look at your language and look at Chinese or ancient Egypt glyphs. Those are very different solutions for same problem - communication. It may be same with everything else, you should learn to recognise things that are invented by humans from things that are natural, to see this issue. Mendeleevs table is only our taxonomy based on some old concept that atoms are base building blocks of matter, even today you can say it is not true and what we will discover in next 100 years? . .. ... .... ..... ...... ....... Easy to send and it creates simple non random pattern? π would be better, but I can't see solution for easy and fast way of sending image I posted in last post. I don't know. In one case I would say that any aliens, advanced enough, we should fear of could discover us long time ago with their stealth satellites. On other case... what if close to us are aliens on same level we are and they have nukes? Right now we are defenceless from orbital strike, so I would wait some time before broadcasting anything outside our solar system. You just failed basic math test. I do agree it would be slow way of communication if we would send engraved golden disks with alien civilization
  17. What if they don't use 10 based system? What if they didn't had Mendeleev on their planet and they have very different table, for example both elements and their isotopes in single table? Also how would you want to send this message? Golden disks like those on Voyager? I would send this only simplyfied, removed axis and only 1 as diameter and 10 as circumference, without labels of course
  18. But we are able to observe and "draw paths" of Andromeda for 50? 100 years? While we are talking about orbits of galaxies which can be really huge. For example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactic_year it should be called "day", because it is single turn around galaxy axis, takes 225 to 250 million terrestrial years... so "galactic year" time need for our galaxy to orbit whatever it could orbit should be much greater like orders of magnitude greater. And with our 100 years of precise observations we would see this galactic orbit as straight lines instead of orbits. Another thing is that we have no idea what physics laws apply on galaxy level objects... that is why we have dark matter and dark energy hypothesis to explain movement of galaxies? PS Simulation is not evidence nor observation it is imaginary world based on things we think we know (believe that are correct), not on things that makes universe work, that makes simulations closer to faith than science.
  19. And you know this because you discovered entire universe? I thought we know how Andromeda was travelling millions of years ago, but we have no idea what is it course today.
  20. We need radially mounted engine between thrust and weight of 24-77 "Twitch" Liquid Fuel Engine and Mk-55 "Thud" Liquid Fuel Engine Electric and internal combustion engines for ships and submarines. With all that hype around hyperloop IMO we should have tracks, trains and hyperloop pressurised tunnel. I know part counts, but tunnel and tracks could be permanently placed on a desired location, so physics wouldn't apply to it. Of course we should be able to demolish it.
  21. We should be able to choose which axis we want to free X,Y or rotation. Also smaller klaw would be nice.
  22. 1. I would move Eve between Jool and Eeloo. On current Eve orbit should be new planet Venus-like... little smaller than Kerbin, but with much more dense atmosphere, so even small wings would allow plane to glide for very long time. Most interesting part of this planet would be temperature (and future feature rains and ballons maybe?). The closer to ground level the higher the temperature and without cooling systems crafts should melt (overheat and explode like they do during re-entry, except crafts wouldn't have to move at all on this planet to accumulate overheat effects). 2. Lots of small dwarf planets, on rails or just random, near Dres orbit. They could be named after most dedicated fans of KSP. 3. Second smaller star far beyond Eeloo orbit, with 2-3 Duna-Dres-like planets around it. 4. Comets and asteroids travelling randomly between SOI of both starts. Few comets could be on rails.
