  1. Well, it's always good to have options, not that this is in the same class I dunno about cryogenics for the booster though. That tends to make things ridiculously big. I also think the upper stage should be more streamlined into the booster. Or take two of the them back-to-backwith a serious core stage in the middle!
  2. "Time blurs as it flies by..." - Me, as my wife and I were reminiscing along the lines of "How many years ago was [this or that event]? Two, three. five, seven?"
  3. An interesting concept for aircraft-launched payloads, solving most of the usual complaints about air-launch.
  4. Hmm, it said the free offer ended today at 10am Pacific time, but I just snagged it for free when I got home at 3:30 PT
  5. 12in Steak & Cheddar (on italian?), lettuce, tomato, little bit of onion and green pepper, salt&pepper, and honey mustard. Something about honey mustard and cheddar go together so well.
  6. I wonder what the capabilities of a "Hydrogen" rocket would be. You know what I mean, an Elektron* on top of a Proton.... Or make it a Tritium rocket, with a couple of "Neutron" strap-on boosters. Brought to you by the Atomic Rockets Corp. *Assuming vacuum-optimized engines, of course
  7. I thought there was a patch released a month or two after the console release, intended to fix the worst bugs, but it failed, so I suppose it doesn't really count. There are probably a bunch of legal reasons no one can say much. But again, a new, experienced company is re-doing the port, probably from scratch, with a much improved (by all reports) controller interface. It's been said in the Dev Weeklies that the latest builds have no signs of the save corruption bug. As for compensation, one might hope (THIS IS PURE SPECULATION) that when Making History is ported to consoles that it'll be free for consoles, but don't hold your breath on that. So a new, working update is coming. When? SoonTM. I'd say they've learned to (tell Blitworks to) take their time and do it right and not rush it out. Squad is relying on the patience of its customers. Despite all the fuss being made on this thread, I'm pretty sure it's less than one percent of the console buyers making the noise.
  8. Yesterday was a hazy day at Birch Bay, making a more-or-less complete ring-rainbow around the Sun. Sometimes it faded out, leaving the odd sundog here and there. I managed to catch this segment, using the camper awning to occlude the sun. I had the 55-250mm telephoto lens on IIRC. The camera I have is a Canon EOS Rebel T5, that I don't really know how to make the most of. When I first got the lens on sale for $200 (save $170) I wanted to see what it could do, so I took this afternoon pic of the Mun Moon
  9. It also depends on what kind of contract it is. If it is just a flyby then the transfer window doesn't matter much because you don't have to slow down when you get there, just go shooting on by.
  10. Because they're required by the console makers, I believe...
  11. With a NewtSuit, of course! There is a commercially available version rated to 2500 ft. just need a few upgrades to manage Venus' 1km deep equivalent.
  12. Oh wow, I remember that. A series, huh? Interesting..... So long I'd forgotten all about it.
  13. The first thing would be to build fleets of seeker/prospector droids probes to determine the most valuable asteroids, followed by tugs to bring them to where they can be useful. Then the aforementioned solar-pumped mega-laser stations to drive light-sail ships amongst other things.
  14. So would this be under the second CRS contract? I believe the first contract stipulated all new Dragons, but I hadn't heard if the second round does. Wiki tells me the first contract was for 12 flights, and they lost one...
  15. Nice Painting. I'd hate for someone to spill some turpentine on it...
  16. Sorry for any nightmares this may cause...
  17. I do believe you're right. And the delay to the NROL launch may not have been SpaceX'
  18. Congrats to the SpaceX team for another successful launch. That makes 6 so far this year, and three more have dates by the end of June, along with one that just says "June." https://www.reddit.com/r/spacex/wiki/launches/manifest
  19. I'm still waiting to hear what people would do with multiplayer that actually requires multiplayer, that can't be done in any other flight sim. The only thing I can think of is building your own aircraft to dogfight with. Realistically, those people want a new game created, something like Kerbal Air and Ground Warfare. Anything else, you may as well be playing alone, IMHO Multiplayer isn't as easy as it sounds...
  20. Maybe it was low quality, but the twist shifter I had was harder to shift which led to the rubber covering peeling off fairly quick, which made it even harder to shift. Brand appears to be "SunRace"
