Well, my team bombed this year. Hopefully they'll get a good draft pick. Maybe I'll root for the Oilers for the Cup this year.

A sleeping pod with a built-in 3D entertainment system? *drools* But then i suppose there'd be problems prying people out... -
Entertainment for colonists in the far future.

Most "games" would be computer based, since that would take up virtually no mass, until someone has enough hobby time to carve some nice chess pieces out of martian rock. Ideally leisure time would still be productive; for example driving around the telerobotic construction and exploration equipment for fun and profit. The interesting aspect of lower-gravity sports would be the reduced friction (reduced weight ╪ reduced mass) making it harder to change direction. Sure, you can always fill your cup with nutritionally complete glop from the food machine, but I happen to have some nice, crisp leaves of lettuce... -

It's not just a Good Friday, it's a Great Friday when I don't have to work! *grabs save* Ok, done. Added a bit of commercial and some lakefront residential. And then I seem to get sucked into endless traffic tweaks, which merely move the bottleneck somewhere else... It's weird how the metro station at my transfer hub can go from zero people one week to 943 the next! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=905356392 -
I did a lot of moving as a teenager. The internet would have been a big help back then, assuming I could have found a community as good as this one, or the old and now defunct SDC forums. Of course, having the 'net to keep in touch with old friends back then would have been invaluable. Glad to be able to help.

Attempting to Get Around Added Sugars
StrandedonEarth replied to Tex's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The real villain of added sugars is fructose coupled with a sedentary lifestyle. Table sugar is sucrose, which is a glucose and fructose stuck together. Every cell can use glucose, while fructose has to be processed by the liver. If a person has been exercising, the liver will turn fructose into glycogen, to replenish the body's energy stores, which is fine. But when the glycogen reserves are full, then the fructose starts getting turned into fat, and that's when the problems start. So stay away from that high fructose corn syrup, unless you have your muscles working! *Note that real fruit is not a problem, it's the crazy amount in anything processed that is! https://authoritynutrition.com/why-is-fructose-bad-for-you/ http://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/is-fructose-bad-for-you-201104262425 -

Yeah it got pretty crazy there with choices going in all different directions, while trying to work with/around the hills -
Optimal TRW from Kerbin?

Okay, now I'm going to have to try that. Just set the initial pitch attaching it to the launch clamps, and then fire-and-forget if you set it right? -

Yup just added it, noticed right away I neglected that part. Then I had to find it again. -

My wife forced me off the computer last night by poking and prodding me until I put it down and paid attention to her. So it was a rather hasty save and now I need to grab the save again and make sure my latest transport tweaks somewhat work. So I'ma gonna do dat now. Edit: All done: here's the save...http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=901861742 Okay, everything looks about as good as it's gonna get. Last night was mucking around with transportation, turning a little corner of industry into a tourist transport hub similar in function to @HebaruSan's, with a tourist train transferring to the passenger and metro loops across from a Stadium and the Botanical Gardens. Also put in a bus loop from there serving the industrial area. Then I played with the roads around the cargo train terminal. Finally, this morning, after making sure that area was running sorta smoothly, I put in an office park as far away from that mess as I could. -

My kids wanting yet another FPS game when they already have too many that they shouldn't even be playing to begin with! They're lucky I don't restrict them to SW:BF and PvZ:GW! I'm sorry, you were saying? *checks phone, starts replying to text* Didn't you know that people pay so much for those luxury cars that they can't afford the turn indicator option?

And you'll be working with a Nigerian prince....
-
True, that. But we're not really after a nice lawn, just somewhere for the dogs to do their thing. Although one of the mutts, a rescue dog, seems to prefer the concrete.... Nice guitar work!

For all you gardeners and would-be gardeners, I recommend the book Carrots Love Tomatoes: Secrets of Companion Planting. Lots of tips on what plants work well together, attract beneficial insects, repel pests, and so on. Also what plants not to grow together. Zucchini is one of those easy things to grow. If you dare to grow it, it'll be coming out your ears! At my old house we had a few garden boxes, with mixed results. It was very difficult to stay on top of the weeds, which took over every chance they got. We never did get a truly impressive crop of anything. except tomatoes and zucchini. Now we've moved to a townhouse, so our growing space is much more limited. Soon we'll get our first hanging basket of strawberries, which we've had mixed success with growing in the ground. We'll also plant our usual one or two tomato plants, maybe we'll try grape tomatoes this year! I'll also be laying out a few rolls of sod for the dogs to do their business on. Our attempt at seeding grass last year was rather patchy, and then the dogs and winter killed it. Laying sod may end up being a yearly thing; see how it goes this year.

Yup, that's so true. I really did mean to emphasize starting to look because I'm sure it's still anything but.
-
Yup. ~28 months later and landing a rocket is starting to look routine already.

Good points, I'll admit I was mainly thinking about inside Kerbin's SOI. The main reason I never set up used a Minmus refuelling operation is because it seemed so tedious. I guess the trick would be allow this tool for shorter trips, from surface to an orbital station or reverse, to occur when the window is available (when the orbital plane passes over the vehicle/landing site. Surface-to-moon (Duna -> Ike for example) or back would also count. But going interplanetary is never routine, and moving between Jool's moons invites chaos.
