  1. The way I see it, once a player has performed a mission that will be repeated, such as resupply or crew rotation, then (and only then) the player should be able to contract out that mission to be done automatically Probably the key to it would be creating the destination waypoint, such as assigning a docking port on a station or building a landing pad on a surface, for the resuppy ship to be sent to. Once the player has done something once, the computer should be able to repeat many times, with the identical .craft
  2. I think I actually have a few minutes where I'm not too busy.... So I'm gonna grab the save for a little while. I've been so busy I can finally see what everyone has done. @HebaruSan, that transit hub is a work of artistic genius! Edit: Okay, I'm done, didn't much besides look around and figure out how the trains worked in my little area. Did some minor tweaking. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=898629525
  3. 10000 tons may be excessive, but a graded dirt field should suffice for a mining operation. Winching up a container or three from a mining dump truck or other off-road heavy truck shouldn't be too big of a problem. The equipment would have been blimped in in the first place. Hard-pack dirt is no problem. Muddy season is the problem
  4. Don't forget the towel! And maybe some peanuts and beer
  5. They'd probably fly a flight-proven Dragon crammed full of stuff they can later sell as "space-flown souvenirs"
  6. They have a niche market. If that niche market ever actually materializes, they can be useful
  7. Yeah, it just looks wrong aesthetically. In RL if they're backwards the airflow would be trying to rip them off, but KSP probably doesn't model that
  8. You don't need to do anything fancy. You can simply rotate them and they attach and work just fine. This screenshot is just for illustration purposes, I'll usually gizmo them together and in a little more. I only use the 4-way thruster blocks on the lightest craft where Vernors are way overpowered. Then I don't have to worry about the monoprop supply. Even on mid-weight craft CapsLock can be used to reduce thrust on the Vernors if they're too powerful.
  9. It's not a good description of flying, but it is an accurate description of orbiting. Newton was the first to theorize about orbits http://www.astronautix.com/n/newtonsorbitalcannon.html
  10. More specifically, they landed a rocket booster upright under its own rocket power back on Earth after putting a payload into space on its way to orbit. And then they launched and landed it again. It has never been done before, but it will become increasingly commonplace in the future.
  11. When in doubt, slap on some fins, as low as they'll go. If at first that doesn't work, use bigger ones. Unrelated: I think those airbrakes should be facing the other direction...?
  12. Another good April Fool's joke! I'd give it a like if I had any left....
  13. It appears that at least two moderators ( @Red Iron Crown, @Frybert ) have changed their avatars to what I'm pretty sure is (one of?) @sal_vager's old avatars. That salute to him is a nice touch!
  14. I only saw the original once, when it aired, and then my brother recorded over the tape (grrr). While I only remember bits and pieces, I seem to recall I liked it. "Narmy"... That word's linked definition puts me in mind of the time I saw Pet Sematary at the theater. I know this doesn't really fit the definition because it wasn't any fault of the moviemaker's, but still.... During a scene which showed the twisted spine of the crippled sister, some clown in the audience wolf-whistled and brought down the house.
  15. I suppose that if Dragon flights land at sea instead of boosting back to land, that may leave enough margin to recover the second stage. Similarly, if F9 payloads that allow the booster to be recovered are moved to F9H, that should certainly leave enough margin to recover the second stage, likely with all boosters returning to dry land.
  16. Never played that, but the name reminds me of the old Atari Missile Command.
  17. F9B5..... Sounds like a Star Wars droid. Not surprising since the Falcon is named after Han Solo's iconic YT-1300 freighter. Elon said so himself. I'm pretty sure they replaced the legs. Those get pretty toasted during landing. I think that's another thing in line for an upgrade to a more durable version.
