  1. My main beef with JWA is that there's no duty-free shop. Didn't expect that. So we had to forgo bringing home cheap booze
  2. My son was assigned a science project for comparing things right before we went to Disneyland, so he decided to measure the g-forces on the rides. We found an iPhone app that could record the forces over time, but its archives don't show the graphs like it does in real time. It does, however, export the recorded data as csv files. Can someone suggest a way to convert those back to graphs via software, or at least to display the number so he can graph it by hand? Thanks. He only has the weekend to get his data organized, the project is due Monday but he has a bit of extension cuz of this trip. Thx
  3. Well, our Disney trip is at a close, currently waiting for our flight at JWA. Had a blast, worth every penny even with the dreadful exchange rate. Thanks for all the restaurant suggestions, although I don't think we managed to go to any of them. The Rainforest Cafe was excellent, had IHOP, Captain Kidds Pirate Buffet, Goofy's Kitchen was a great (if pricey) breakfast buffet this morning. Ordered pizza Wednesday night and ate the leftovers last night after finally getting back from Universal. After cruising the Hollywood strip we ended up at Jack-In-The-Box (don't have that back home) i had a blast on all tthe rides I went on, which was most of them except the kiddy rides in Fantasyland. I was even able to drag my wife onto some of them, and she's not a rider. Got lots of autographs too Ive got a lot more to say but I'm on mobile. I'll post a lot more, and a photo (took well over a thousand of them, gotta love the digital age) album when I get home and get my laptop back. It's in the shop getting the cooling overhauled while I'm gone; it was getting to where I could fry eggs on it.
  4. "WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Me, on California Screamin' Guardians of the Galaxy, and just about every other coaster-type ride at Disneyland, Disney Adventure Park, and Universal Studios
  5. Scrith . It's a known material. Only problem is that it's fictional. But I wonder if a Ringworld rotating at a slower speed (less centrifugal gravity) would fall within known RL material capabilities, and if so, how slow would it need to go (what would the centrifugal gravity) be? The next problem is attitude jets to keep it centered. Also need meteor defence.
  6. This is the patter from the guy talking to the audience before the "Jedi Training" show at Disneyland. I'm spoilering it for anyone planning a trip there soon.
  7. Ya, kinda stupid and confusing to call it BattleFront 2 when there's already a game of that name. It doesn't seem like that long since they released BattleFront either. I was disappointed with that one since there was no single player campaign. I will be ignoring this, like I try to ignore most EA games. My kids insisted on blowing their money on the last BF, and I had to let them get NHL 2017 since it's a welcome change from combat games.
  8. While a share of the blame certainly falls on Squad and FTE, the rest falls on Microsoft and PlayStation Nprth America, since it didn't release on PlayStation Europe. I don't understand how they let a game with so many issues make it to the online stores. Good thing I was in no hurry to let my sons buy it for XB1
  9. Perhaps the second stage fell victim to the propellant slosh problem the second launch of Falcon 1 fell prey to, and maybe the first stage was fighting that too. If so, you'd think they would have learned from F1
  10. Judging by the other replies, the EDL accelerations are okay. Surely CO2 scrubbers could be scavenged from somewhere, even an EVA suit. They could just stuff an empty or cut-down suit in if need be, that would at least slow down the CO2 buildup. As for unberthing, someone could sacrifice his/herself by remaining behind to unberth and save the rest.
  11. Also tougher legs and tougher titanium grid fins that won't burn during reentry
  12. I believe the next launch, for BulgariaSat, is a used booster
  13. Oh man, the hickory chicken at the Rainforest Cafe was sooooo good. So were the nachos
  14. ATTENTION ALL PLANETS OF THE SOLAR FEDERATION WARNING! THE HYPE REACTORS HAVE GONE SUPERCRITICAL! ALL PASSENGERS MUST PROCEED TO YVR WHERE THEY WILL BE EVACUATED TO THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! REPEAT: ...
  15. Well no, you're right, we can't. But if there's a way to muck up a game, any game, even a single-player offline game, Sony Online Entertainment will find the way
  16. I see you won't get fooled again! I see it as Squad can focus on developing the game and its DLC's, while T2 will be taking care of business (every day, every way). It could be much worse. It could have been SOE. They would have changed how everything works and then your hard-earned kerbal skillz (snicker) would be useless. (Yes I'm still bitter over their destruction of the SWG universe). Expanding the Kerbal franchise, hmmm... World of KerbalKraft? Kerbal Kart? Kerbal Flight Program?
  17. You could shellac it or use some other strong paint. I figured you'd want to paint it anyways. If it's sealed inside paint it shouldn't attract anything. Of course, once it breaks it would need to be sealed again, if unwanted creatures are a concern.
  18. Literally. Use gingerbread and/or different kinds of crackers, held together with icing.
  19. You could always send an extra supply tanker (fuel and LS supplies; spare parts if you have KIS/KAS) following your main mission, in the same transfer window. It won't cost much extra dV if you are a day or two behind. It might get more difficult if you have Kerbal Construction Time installed
  20. D-MINUS ONE WEEKS AND COUNTING! The HypeShuttle-DL is in the processing facility awaiting installation of the baggage module. The electronics package (featuring a DSLR camera upgraded to zoom-zoom; awesome timing for the Cannon sale at Best Buy) has been integrated into the new baggage modules, which have already been loaded with new garments. The Hype Capacitors are absorbing the excess hype from the Hype reactors, which are spinning towards overload as the Parental Control Units are also spewing Hype.
