  1. New Page A birth? Edit: Or a death?
  2. But if you really want to play Hard Mode but want more funds, try the Science Funding mod
  3. There have been so many mistakes in the Russian space program lately that I suspect sabotage. As for the "Black side down" humor, I've heard that Army surgeons will routinely write "not this knee" or something similar on a patient's knee so they don't operate on the wrong knee (or other body part). Try that with a civilian doctor and they will probably be insulted.
  4. If you want more funding, especially on hard mode, try the Science Funding mod. It gives funding (default 2k per science point) for every science report that is transmitted or returned to KSC. More reasons to do science!
  5. 10/10 for the awesomeness of the Orion Drive.
  6. Happy New Year from the Wet Coast, eh!
  7. Ok, so, our house is running on Windoze laptops, no desktop PCs. Last year I received a DLink DIR-835 wireless router, with a USB port. This year, I received a WD MyBook 3TB external HDD, with the thought I would hook it to the router. No dice! The HDD works fine directly connected to a PC, but not the router. My research on the dlink forums has found that it's too big for the router to read. Apparently a lot of the DLink routers top out at 500GB-1TB. I haven't found any more recent info or updates on this issue. Can anyone suggest a workaround for this? Failing that, any suggestions for an affordable wireless router with an USB 2.0 or 3.0 port that can share and stream from this HDD?
  8. Hmmm, yup. I was afraid it was too easy. Sorry about the delay in confirming it
  9. Caveman's delight; the stuff of starlight Lighting the path to the heavens, After enabling flight
  10. vexx32, for the poetic stumper riddles Ziff, cuz Calvin rocks! Avera9eJoe, for his vids. GregroxMun, for driving the hype train montyben101, looks like he needs more blobs Hope everyone had a Merry Ho-Ho
  11. As the above poster said, but you also need an empty seat to put him in. Either a mkI pod under probe core control or a multikerbal pod with an empty seat
  12. The Sun (slowly expands with time, sunburns are a bother) and the Moon (gradually slowing as it's orbit expands, bothersome to vampires, werewolves, and those trying to be stealthy) Hey, it's worth a shot
  13. You can never have enough struts! (pic courtesy of Whackjob, of course)
  14. Sorry, I meant to say would, not should. And I never said my exploit wasn't cheaty, but it is profitable
  15. I don't think it would work. What I like to do is take a few satellite/station contracts, build a vessel that satisfies all requirements, then launch it and move it from orbit to orbit, filling 2-3 contracts with one station launch
  16. Just load the recording into a sound editor and look for spikes in the waveform. When I first started at the retread plant years ago I'd have dreams/nightmares about too many tires everywhere. I know I woke my wife with my ravings but don't know any specific things I may have said
  17. I've only started using it in beta, to complete a couple of contracts I took by accident and had no hope to complete. I Also started on hard and had to revert some launches because, er, it was a simulation, Ya, that's it, and had no margin in the bank. Now I just have Jeb in orbit with a bunch of batteries cranking out useless crew reports for cash. Hopefully soon I can unlock EVA and bring him home by getting out to push
  18. Ok, so here's a new question. My daughter wants to buy a laptop for Christmas with money saved from babysitting and gifts. Her estimated budget will be C$400-600, which I think is the minimum to get a more than what amounts to a netbook. Her main use for it, aside from schoolwork, will be making videos for Youtube, like most teens want to these days. I know more RAM is always good, so I'm aiming for 8GB. There are some in her range, it basically comes down to a chip choice between an i5-4210U or an AMD A10-5745M. Quad core AMD or hyperthreaded 2 core i5? Quick answers appreciated because I think we have buy fever before the one she wants (AMD) sells out.
