  1. If you focus view on the body you're wanting to orbit (right-clk, focus view instead of set/unset) as target it should show the target orbit then. If the orbit specs are in the region of 180deg or so, it's retrograde
  2. My Tylo Rescue Rover undergoing testing on Kerbin. It did a 100km drive on Tylo after dropping the tankage to rescue a stranded crewman. Several quickloads were required as it got skittish over 25m/s
  3. It would be more realistic if new engines had to be ground-tested then space tested to flesh out the performance characteristics. Also if planets and moons had to at least have a flyby to determine their gravity and atmospheric properties, for mods like Trajectories to have something to work with
  4. Points 3-4: As well as being able to at least view what the custom action group assignments were, even if not able to change them.
  5. 6/10 Fusion Pulse drive is awesome, but there's no building big enough to build it... yet
  6. Large solids are difficult to produce with consistent properties, although ATK did a good job with the STS SRB's Solids also have a lot more 'rumble' (vibration). Shuttle astronauts have reported that the ride gets a lot smoother when the SRB's separate.
  7. By inference, some are right. The election of the first female leader of some country? A Google search found this article that lists 5 such candidates, elected since 2000
  8. How about "Countdown" by Rush, for when you go to the launchpad?
  9. If white was what was found, how can they possibly know what the front legs looked like, unless they also found imprints? Or are they extrapolating from other finds?
  10. A Google search found the city of Kerman, California... Also several folks with the last name Kerman in my province....
  11. No, it's much more entertaining to keep the thread going... I want an 80inch 4k 3D Holographic Dolby 7.2 surround sound TV
  12. 10/10 for a Space Corvette! Great movie too! I'll see your Corvette and raise you a customized '33 Ford Coupe
  13. When you're on the action groups tab, click a part on your rocket. The possible actions for your rocket will appear on the right. Choose the button on the left you want to use to trigger an action, then pick the action you want from the right. The actions assigned to that button will appear in the middle. You can assign multiple parts and actions to the same button. Parts placed using symmetry will all trigger, no need to click each one (you may need to reassign the actions if you move the part, however). The tier 2 VAB/SPH only has basic action groups, but you can assign other functions to them, like activating solar panels under 'abort,' for instance. Tier 3 lets you assign the 0-9 buttons to actions as well.
  14. Wow, that looks really old. I want those X-wing wings!
  15. Lines 1-2: suggests the first occurence of something that will happen again Line 3: suggests something unusual happened Line 4-5: suggests "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings" Line 6: suggests it was a good thing Lines 7-8: Filler to tell us the answer is a certain day Since 2000 suggests a specific day/event And I still don't have a clue. The day women were first allowed to vote in some country? Still not a great fit
  16. Make sure the contract doesn't say 'Landed on the Mun' or 'Splashed down on Eve'....
  17. I can't recall saving a mission in trouble, aside from maybe flipping upside close to landing and still landing alive if not safely. But when it comes to rescues, I'll just build a lander with wheels and drive to the rescue site, then blow off the wheels after lift-off. Here's one such example, just after accidentally ramming the stricken lander (half hidden by the navball): And here's my Tylo rescue rover (seen during testing), which drove over 100 km to the out-of-fuel lander. The ascent stage is just an FLT-200 and a 48-7s under the command chairs:
  18. I haven't used FAR much myself so I don't know how much effect the landing gear will have on aerodynamics. If that core engine doesn't have TVC, make sure the fins have control surfaces
  19. Nah, a Batcomputer is way cooler I want an LV-N for my model rockets!
  20. From the Twitter feed linked above: Sort of surprising, I thought they would have used some sort of electro-mechanical actuators. Hydraulics is probably lighter/faster/stronger. Maybe they'll switch in the long run: No consumables and less/no pollution from the grid-fin system.. Edit: Also wondering if that had anything to do with the hard landing, TVC trying to compensate after the fins stopped working?
  21. Of course, a pic or.craft file would help. Perhaps you need a fairing (Procedural Fairings) over the lander, or some huge fins to counter the drag of the lander
  22. No, 20 dollars is much better than 20 male deer I want my own Millennium Falcon
  23. I hope they release pics of the barge after the ferrobraking....
  24. I must say I'm totally excited about this launch and landing attempt. Go SpaceX!! Wrong vehicle, I know, but as far as I'm concerned the countdown is on!
