  1. STS-71 This one was a real PAIN. My advice if you're using MJ docking helper: undock Kristall, dock it to Shuttle, dock to Mir using Kristall as your control point. In Soviet Russia, you don't dock with space stations - space stations dock with YOU.
  2. Check "apollo-saturn-revamp" branch. Unfortunately no - its only purpose is to survey resources. SpaceDust also needs a config set for each planet pack, meaning that in most cases your Hubble is just a nice orbital trinket.
  3. Yeah, IB tends to be hard. The secret is to use PVG and highly lofted trajectory, as detailed in wiki. Even then you're in for a long and slow ascent. Also, check Apollo for any extra mass - some mods add extra resources (like Snacks of Dangit), which you may not need on that launch.
  4. It's been a very long time since I've used Fregat, but I remember it had an engine made specifically for it (so it doesn't look strange and the engine nodes give enough clearance). I can't find it now, only stage itself and additional fuel tank. Help?
  5. Can you post KSP.log (found in main KSP folder)? "Freezes" during loading are pretty much normal for modded KSP. Heavily modded installs may take 10-15 minutes to load (some take 20+ minutes!). Just Alt-Tab back to browser or whatever you've been doing and wait for main menu music. If game crashes during this time with no apparent reason, this may indicate insufficient RAM. 0.7 beta is meant for 1.10.1 and later versions. It works fine with 1.12.2.
  6. Hello, and welcome to the forums! First of all, you've installed KSRSS wrong. Do not extract the whole archive into Gamedata, extract only KSRSS folder. Second, what do you mean by "doesn't work anymore"? It doesn't load at all, crashes during loading, doesn't load the save? Also: you really don't want to use Steam install as your modded install. Copy KSP folder anywhere else (it has no DRM or whatever, you don't need Steam to run it), and keep Steam install 100% stock.
  7. Nice! What size is it? Would be nice to get a 2.5m Starship.
  8. You can delete Parts folder, but you should leave Patches (it contains patches that add fuel switch to tanks) and Localization (contains text strings for aforementioned patches).
  9. That's so cool! What are the mods used for it? I can see BDB (obviously) and ReDIRECT, anything else? Also, would really appreciate if you post the craft file (w\o payload)
  10. Noticed that too. However, my usual way with shuttles is "EEX - All Rigid ON - All Autostrut to Grandparent ON", so I wouldn't say KJR is a dependency. Stock autostrut is probably enough.
  11. (NB: I've used "MKS" craft file, on 2.5x KSRSS, launched from CCAFS) - Okay, NOW it's good! Hell, it's GREAT! - Pretty much what you need to orbit BDB Delta II-sized payloads in JNSQ\KSRSS\other 2.5x systems. Easy to assembly, easy to fly, works fine with MJ. - Bug: SRBs do not use all their fuel (about 28.5 units left when they shut off) - That pointy thing on the top of EFT can strike shuttle after jettisoning the EFT. Maybe decoupler is too strong, or its force is pointed wrong way? (I didn't try to tweak it) - Jet intake covers don't work that way (just saying...) - Kermes tug: main engine FX is still monoprop
  12. One thing that come in mind is synchronous orbits - increasing rotation period would push them higher, possibly making them unusable.
  13. Gotta love 1.11+ EVA building system. It finally gives you the way to build Mir as it was intended to be built - moving Kristall solar panels to Kvant-1, building Sofora truss etc.
  14. They are like stock "Milestones" contracts. First launch, orbit Earth, fly by the Moon, land on the Moon etc etc. You might want to install KSCSwitcher to move space center around Earth.
  15. Awesome! I've just been offered contracts for atmosphere probes (KSRSS has its own contract pack), so I'll now wait for the proper tool.
  16. 2.5x KSRSS here, zero problems with MJ (except when you input bad parameters, of course). Do you use PVG? Generally "light" Atlases (Able, Agena, Mercury, SRM uppers) fly quite well with its default "50/0.5" formula. As for booster skirt jettisoning - see here: Atlas · friznit/Unofficial-BDB-Wiki Wiki (github.com) Basically, you want to jettison the skirt as soon as core's TWR is bigger than 1.
  17. TIL Tanegashima has H-II on display - resting on its side(!) outside, so you can see it on Google Maps. I wish more rocket displays were horizontal. Anyway: H-II, launching 9.3 tons (0.1t probe + 9.2t full medium ore tank) to 130km, 35deg circular orbit from Tanegashima (2.5x KSRSS)
  18. - Quite underpowered due to LE-7's low thrust. This is probably one of these cases where you need more than 25% of IRL thrust. - Interstage has fuel crossfeed enabled and no means to disable it. - No RCS on 2nd stage engine mount. - I suggest adding a probe core and some reaction wheels to the 2nd stage top tank (like in BDB, where most upper stages come with either a built-in probe core (DCSS, Ablestar, Transtage) or a special part (Delta-K, Centaur))
  19. A bit more on "mini- Blok-D": - Kinda too heavy, IMO. - Somewhat strange fuel choice (monoprop) when you look at its design (two tanks). I suggest switching it to traditional LF\Ox, while keeping a small amount of monoprop for built-in RCS. - With all its visible electronics, consider adding a probe core with some Ec (This will also allow controlled deorbit after payload separation) - No engine shroud (I suggest adding a 0.625m metal grid one, styled after Soyuz interstage) - All in all, it is more useful as a standalone 1.25m-ish upper stage. For example, it can be used as a drop-in for Blok L, which is not included in Tantares. Also, consider moving all the parts to earlier science nodes, in order to make MKS a mid-to-late career feature, and thus forming a sort of progression from MKS to SOCK (which requires late-game nodes).
  20. You mean shadow mountains on the horizon? Isn't that a stock bug?
  21. I also use 2.5x rescale, not just "stock" KSRSS (You'll need Sigma Dimensions plugin to activate it). Or even better, install JNSQ - it's a 2.66x rescale "out of the box", doesn't need any additional rescale plugins patches, and is sort of a reference point for all major part mods (BDB, Tantares, KNES, SOCK etc). If your stuff is balanced for JNSQ, it's guaranteed to work as intended in any stock-sized planet pack with a typical (2.5x-2.7x) rescale. Speaking of more parts - I'd like to request a shuttle butt-2.5m adapter, to make vertical stacking easier.
  22. Okay, so: (1.12.2, KSRSS 2.5x) - Great artwork! - Cool payload ideas, especially little Blok-D and "sat-in-a-can". - Cannot fly in 2.5x or similar rescales. Well, technically it CAN achieve orbit - but without any payload (not even docking bay) and with almost all of its OMS monoprop expended.
  23. Speaking of KSP versions: it seems that 1.12 changed something in stock game. Previously, I had problems with KSC screen - on first load, I couldn't click on buildings (buttons worked normally). Visiting tracking station and\or VAB usually fixed this. There is no such problems on 1.12.2. So I suggest using it, if your other mods support it.
