[WIP] Stella Caerulea Exoarchitecture
Foxxonius Augustus replied to rfelipe200's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
This looks freaking amazing! I think this will stand on it's own nicely and compliment a number of other great mods as well! -
Some (hopefully) constructive criticism is inbound! (DUCK!) I love some of the new model additions like the hold down points. I am sort of indifferent to the air scoops. For me though the vertical cutouts (to clarify, is that the 'Stringer' construction?) are awful. I tried to think of a nicer, more polite word but there just isn't one. They are causing me to keep looking away from the screen shots because they are such an eye sore. My recommendation is that if they absolutely have to stay then they need to be toned down till they are as imperceptible as the they are in the old photos. If it is not absolutely necessary for you to keep them you should ditch them entirely. As they are now, I vastly prefer the old tanks and will stick with them. /harshtalk PS. The engines are looking amazing!

So I have been falling in love with v2, like a lot! Small request (I hope), can the small rectangular stand be lengthened? Ideally it would mirror the general pads with the square<rectangle<long rectangle format. I specifically ask so that I can use it for early(ish) common core booster type craft in the 0.9375 to 1.5 diameter range.

I will admit that I don't know how someone would even go about generating a file like that for BDB, but looking at the ones that squad made I can't imagine it to be an easy task. If you take it upon yourself to make such a file for BDB that would be great! In general with BDB, this sort of thing, translation or compatibility and such, is a "You want it, you make it" affair.

It might not be apparent but you are asking for something that is incredibly difficult. There is a reason that stock KSP didn't get localized until years after its initial release and even then, it took over a year for it to get localized into more than 5 languages. Even after all that it was a year or more to work out all the stuff they got wrong in the process. The resources of a whole company took years to do that. The other thing to consider is that in general mods don't get translated. The only mod that I know has been translated is Tantares and that work wasn't done by Beale, it was done by other people who contributed their own time to translate it. If some one did that for BDB then it would probably become part of the mod. CRP can't just be ripped out and have everything stay balanced or even functional. I remember the authors of this mod beating themselves up trying to think of a way to do justice to these rockets without introducing a dependency. In the end they realized there was no other way. B9 is used by a huge number of the parts in this pack, some of those uses are for aesthetic reasons but many are not and contribute to the utility of the part. Without B9, BDB would have to multiply it's memory footprint many times over to retain the same functionality. Dmagic has already been addressed. The dependencies are there for a good reason, the mod simply could not be what it is without them.

[1.12.5] Cormorant Aeronology - Mk3 Space Shuttle
Foxxonius Augustus replied to Pak's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ahh, yeah that doesn't look right. The only advice I have is to delete the mod from your game data folder, it should just be the Cormorant Aeronology folder. Then re-install from a fresh download.- 2,351 replies

Welcome to the forums! Not sure what happened to your pic but it is not displaying. Try uploading it to imgur and then posting a link to the imgur post.- 2,351 replies

Thanks for the quick update @Sigma88! I just kept seeing empty OPs, locked threads and announcements in big red letters saying things to the effect of 'only meant to to work with KSP Ver 1.[super old]!'. This is not to put down any of these mods or ones like them, and especially not the people who made them! I am just frustrated that every time I get all hyped to to play the game again, I say "This time I am guna use a re-scale for sure!" and then cant seem to find an obviously working mod to do it. I also feel bad whenever I try to explain to someone that BDB isn't over powered, rather its a stock part<->system imbalance and that all they have to do is re-scale the stock system. They ask 'How do I do that?' and I have to shrug... (P.S. Sorry if this post turned into a rant, I'm just frustrated is all.)

Sweet! The new FAQ is looking good, it is even labeled as an FAQ now! I probably should have mentioned this earlier but KScale2 and Quarter Size RSS mentioned as BDB compatible re-scale mods are out of date and look abandoned, also, Sigma Dimensions on which KScale2 is based, is no longer supported (at least on the forums). These are contributing factors in my wanting specific re-scale mods named in the FAQ. As far as I can tell there have been no working 2.5-3x re-scaling mods for several versions now. If anyone knows of one that works with 1.5.x and is still being looked after, please post about it!
