  1. I love this idea! There are only so many parts that can be made if you only take inspiration from ISS. With the addition of near-future and sci-fi and dare I say it, alternate history, a great many possibilities open up. I vote for HabTech 2 #ModsNotDed
  2. Astronauts, roll out! *Soon... hopefully. Edit: Also thanks for the 2.5m multi-adapter @CobaltWolf any chance we could get a 1.875m version?
  3. Then how does it work? I too auto strut every part to root and root part to heaviest, then set every thing to rigid attach. I do that with every rocket now and it seems to work well.
  4. Beale already has a really good one in Tantares. I think I mistakenly asked Cobalt how to build it properly once, having completely forgotten it wasn't in his mod.
  5. Dammit @CobaltWolf you are just too darn fast! I had three more rounds of Scout Hype all lined up. *sigh* Well now what are you working on?
  6. My kind of camp fire!* Hype double whamy. Just like the real thing this centaur hype is a bit late! *Because scouts like camp fires... idk...
  7. What is old is new again through the power of Hype! This is getting more difficult as things are being released too quick for me to hype them!
  8. I have made a small tutorial for the MOS docking procedure. Try these steps and if it's still not working it may be a bug. Remember, you may have to switch craft to retract the second ring. http://imgur.com/a/iGA3S
  9. If the probe is extended, it will prevent hard docking. You have to retract the probe in order to hard dock (craft merge). @DiscoSlelge @CobaltWolf With all the new people using the mod who haven't been following it through dev, perhaps the docking procedure for each set of docking ports should be added to the manual.
  10. Which docking ports are you using? You may need run the retract animation on both docking ports and since your vessels are not merged you will have to switch to the other craft and do it from there, you do do that quickly with the bracket keys [ and ].
  11. Many of the docking ports in BDB have a feature called two stage docking. The first stage is a soft docking, bringing the ports into contact but without locking on. The second is a hard dock where the two vessels merge. This in done in game by having the docking ports have animated parts with colliders that extend out in front of them. To perform a two stage docking first preform a soft docking as you would any other docking maneuver, then once you have made contact, right click the docking port and there should be a retract option. Keep in mind that in the case of the MOS docking port, both ports will need to be retracted for a hard dock. It is also worth noting that you can per-retract the docking ports in the VAB, if you do so they will function like any other docking port. P.S. A neat side effect is that once you have a soft dock, you should be able to rotate your spacecraft freely, giving the ability to precisely align craft before making hard dock.
  12. I can perhaps answer your question, although it may be a bit of a let down. I sketched out what would become the Leo-M-ARP "Augustus" pod based on a basic render Cobalt made on a lark ages ago. As it turned out, @TimothyC later found an interesting NASA document and after I had dug through it (the report was 226 pages long) I found an odd reference. There were separate references to both "Striped Gemini" (Normal Gemini but with out seats or life support and remote guidance added) and a proposed "Specific Design". We had inadvertently created a stand in for the Specific Design. The trouble is this, it was only ever called just that, Specific Design and nothing like it ever made it to even the design phase. As a result we have no idea what it would have looked like or what it would have been called. The other thing that I learned from this and other documents was that most references to Cargo Gemini or Supply Gemini were in fact referring to the unmanned Striped Gemini or the manned Ferry/Supply Gemini. So @IronCretin the answer to your question is that its real name (or as close as I can find) is Specific Design. The NASA document for reference. Link (P.S. I like references.)
  13. Hype imitates art imitates Hype! Apollo X Proposal AAP proposal leads to Eyes Turned Skyward leads to Development in BDB!
  14. No hype at the moment, sorry. I just wanted to once again plea for adapters. We really need, yes need, flat adapters for each size to every other size. Some may say 'Why do you need so many?'. To them I say this, I need THREE adapters and over a meter of length to properly fit a passive APAS (0.9375) to MOS (1.875) and the only option to go from 1.875 or any smaller size to anything over 1.875 is the Inon engine shroud or one of the Inon fuel tanks. We need adapters, all I'm saying.
  15. Not just Hype, what you have there is the rare and coveted High Quality Hype. *Edit* This Hype just in. @VenomousRequiem Appears to have already begun updating BDBs RP configs. Can we get N>3 cheers for Venom?
  16. <-- has informed the BDB devs. And, you know, thanks @Nhawks17 *kappa*
  17. Hype can be incressed in small increments... if it has to be. @VenomousRequiem On the other hand Smokescreen and Realplume were just updated and that calls for big text.
  18. @CobaltWolf I have a question about the MDA. If we are going to need to use the docking mechanic for the ATM does that mean the MDA will have three designated spots for docking ports?
  19. The shuttle is incidental. The Super Cool Power Module is whats important. If you cant ignore it just pretend it's one of @Pak's shuttles... (Shameless plug for Cormorant Aeronology the only truly great stockalike shuttle mod.)
