totm oct 2023 Post Your Cinematics Here! (Cinematic Enthusiasts)
BagelRabbit replied to Halban's topic in KSP Fan Works
Hello! I finally subscribed to HatBat (and about time, too. If you haven't yet, do so right now.) ...and I also made this thing. It's not of the highest quality, but don't be too critical. It's the first really cinematic thing that I've made in almost a year. Enjoy, and let me know what you think. -
Hi everybody! You may remember this or this. Well, today, I'm taking the cinema-ticity to a new level, and making this video of Jeb's epic journey through the air on a real rocket. I hope you enjoyed the video! Let me know what you think about it Have a nice day.

The Three Bridges Cup!
BagelRabbit replied to BagelRabbit's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Thanks for understanding! If you want to run KSP at normal time, make sure that there are no craft within the loading distance of your attempt, temporarily turn down graphics settings, or maybe just removing the altitude thing. You should be able to run this mission with the little timer always being in the green. The craft has few enough parts that it shouldn't tax your computer too much. Sorry for being so finicky about the rules... -
Destroy All KSC Structures - OneForAllChallenge
BagelRabbit replied to Heretic391's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Ah, Heretic391. This is great, but it's not the funniest way to destroy the runway, IMO... A funnier way is this. (By the way, I've loved your videos since 0.17, or something. Thanks for making them. ) Getting back to a plan to destroy ALL of KSC: I'm probably going to go with the "tank ramming" idea put forth by some of y'all. I am going to post a video about it, it's just a matter of time... -
Meh, that's not entirely true. The RAPIER has a unique sound, but other engines also have subtly different engine noises. Here's my current best guess as to which engines make which noises: All of the OSCAR-B-scale engines have a distinct noise, with the exception of the O-10 Monopropellant Engine. All of the LV-T-scale engines have a distinct noise, except for the RAPIER engine and the SRBs. All of the Jumbo-scale engines have a distinct noise, except for the one that was added in 0.23.5. All of the things added after 0.23.5 (O-10, new large-ish engine cluster, really huge parts) have a distinct noise. Besides, this thing isn't really meant to make beautiful (or even recognizable) music. It's merely a novelty that's a lot of fun to play with. Don't take it too seriously.

Bagel Rabbit: The Future of KSP Insanity!
BagelRabbit replied to BagelRabbit's topic in KSP Fan Works
Hello once again, Individuals! I don't have a video in this post, but rather, I'm just showing you a poll that I have created as to what a future video* will be. *said video will probably be up in a week or so. Here's the link (let me know whether or not it works). If you don't like Google+ or don't have an account, you can post your responses in the comments. New video coming (hopefully) later today. It involves a GoPro. Have a very nice day, Individuals! Like, Favorite, Subscribe and Share please... and I'll see you next time, with another episode of the KeeeeEEEErbal Space Program! PEACE!! -
The Three Bridges Cup!
BagelRabbit replied to BagelRabbit's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I'm starting a new Leaderboard for 0.25. The top two designs rely heavily on Small Control Surfaces and borderline infinigliding, and thus wouldn't work well in 0.25. Rather than penalizing newer entries, I'll just start the leaderboard anew. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, manni01! This run looks nice... especially for a non-parachute-assisted time! There are two little things that bug me, though. I'm debating whether you should still get your achievements (I've put them up for now, but I'm seeking opinions from others on the Forum). The first thing is that you did the run at half speed. I don't think that this is a big deal, but some other people do. This makes it possible for the challenge to be completed faster than would otherwise be possible. The second, and more significant, problem is that you seemed to use a mod to determine your altitude above the ground. This is really the thing that bugs me. A large portion of the Cup's challenge is to be at the correct altitude going through the bridges (especially the first one), and the mod takes much of the challenge out of it... at least in my opinion. I do want others to weigh in about this, though. In your opinion, should manni01 have to redo this challenge without the altitude-display mod and/or at actual speed? Thanks for the opinions -
I absolutely adore how... >Bill's eating SPACE CRISPS! (Or trying to. Pretty sure the helmet's in the way.) >Jeb's got RCS and SAS controls! >The cockpit looks far better than the "real" three-Kerbal cockpit! (And way better than the Mk3 cockpit's IVA.) I wish that Bob wasn't crying (?) and that the helmets were closer to the ones in-game, but this is a brilliant work of art. Have some +Rep, and thank you for making this.

A comet will be buzzing Mars this Sunday
BagelRabbit replied to Streetwind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Jeez, I know David Grinspoon (who's currently one of the panelists talking about Siding Spring)! He's an awesome guy. -
Oooh, that would be fun. I'll see what I can do, though I'm probably not going to post any other Rocket Organ videos for the next week or two. Peoples' ears need time to recover. At that point, the phonograph probably wasn't recording the cannon blasts, but rather, the miniature earthquakes that they caused. I would have loved to attend the recording session, though I fear that it would have made me deaf. This idea reminds me tremendously of a guy named Pogo, who remixes movies and even games into short little pieces of music that are excellent (you should check him out). Pogo-style remix for KSP, anyone?!

I got a Class E, once. It was a lot of fun. Aerobreaking and a load of fuel got it into a 75x220km Kerbin orbit, although it was a bit touch-and-go. I also had to keep the throttle at 1/2 to 1/3 throughout the burns, as the asteroid was relatively wobbly and didn't like being towed. Luckily, the five LV-Ns did a pretty good job of keeping everything going. Here's an image of the (rather small for a Class E but still rather formidable) asteroid. Note that there's an eighteen-Kerbal crew on the ship, because why not? I'm not sure whether I should be more proud of achievements like these, or whether I should be more proud of things like this or this.

I absolutely adore this old video of Xacktar's... Hooray for camera view changing and SRB-powered dance floors! ...and in case you wanted proper music for your party, Jeb's got a Rocket Organ for you! It's most Kerbal instrument in the world, and it comes with Decoupler Percussion! Buy one today! (Price on request.)

Bagel Rabbit: The Future of KSP Insanity!
BagelRabbit replied to BagelRabbit's topic in KSP Fan Works
Hello once again, Individuals! In this video, I test the boundaries of the new and highly flammable runway by playing a ROCKET ORGAN on top of it. Yep, you heard me right. It's not that great of a performance, but it does involve decoupler percussion. So, that's nice. Have a very nice day, Individuals! Like, Favorite, Subscribe and Share please... and I'll see you next time, with another episode of the KeeeeEEEErbal Space Program! PEACE!! -
Hello! This is a massive necro, but I feel like it's justified! Presenting: The Green Danube! Now, the rocket organ is tweaked to work with both 0.23.5 (which happened after the original post came out) and 0.25! It only blows up the runway some of the time... I tried to match up the notes with the respective Rocket-Organ tones, but it wasn't done too well. Nevertheless, this was a lot of fun to make, and I'm actually kinda pleased with the results! Enjoy, and let me know if you have any recommendations on how to make the Rocket Organ even better! (I used MedwedianPresident's suggestion of decoupler percussion on this guy. ) Thanks for watching!

Thanks for all of the love The plugin hasn't even started production, so far as I know. Blizzy78 might be dong something behind my back though. I've been massively inspired by music from the flash game Flight, and want do something kinda similar to this for either JOOL or (more likely) KERBIN. It's cheery and peppy and absolutely brilliant, IMO... I'm probably going to do two different versions of KERBIN: One for "Landed" (at your eventual destination) and one for "In Atmosphere." The former will be a happy little triumphant thing that plays briefly and then stops, the latter will likely be like the aforementioned Flight soundtrack, in that it can be repeated without ever growing old. Maybe a little less lively though. Thanks for all of the great feedback! You guys are the best.

I'm assuming that infinigliders as a whole aren't allowed...? I realize that the following attempt breaks several of the rules (not very plane-like, no landing at KSC) but I could easily complete this challenge in very little time and very close to the KSC if I placed an infiniglider in a stable <5m/s near-hover. Check out this video at 2:14 or so. (You can watch the rest too, if you want ) (By the way, thanks for checking out my YouTube channel! )

Vagani Car Manufacturers- Get Inspired- Final Challenge
BagelRabbit replied to Vagani's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I was actually a little worried about using that song... because we're in a friendly competition, and I felt like using a song made in part by a competitor might not be great without your cooperation. Fortunately, you're really nice. The advertisement is nearly done. I'll finish it in the morning. 'Night, all! -

Here's a quick video of Challenges 1, 2, and 4 (I think): I'll present the Billboard Advertisement tomorrow...! Thanks, Upsilon -
[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
BagelRabbit replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
Updated the Light-Green Group. It's actually amazing how much change there was compared to only a week ago. There's a new member of the Group now, as well: TriggerAu. Welcome! A few notes: I know that some of the people mentioned may have had their Rep count artificially boosted (SQUAD and Cap'n Skunky). However, this isn't really a competition, and both of the people with boosted reputations contributed enormously to the actual game. Thus, I'm keeping them in the OP. Some people have suggested that I include a +Rep to post ratio. I don't really have a problem with this, except for the fact that I would have to hand-edit this ratio more often than once a week for it to be even vaguely accurate. I wish I had the time for that... and I may in a little while. However, for the time being, I'm not going to include it yet. ...and I still think that this might be of more help to new Forum-goers (and more seasoned Forumers alike) to be in the General Discussion... if a mod could move it back (or give me a fair reason that it's currently in Kerbal Network), that would be great. Thanks. -

Project - sending a Jeb figurine into stratosphere
BagelRabbit replied to lajoswinkler's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Jeb is really light - only 86 grams, according to my scale. Of course, we would probably need to fill part of his helmet as well as the loosely-strutted region below him with epoxy, for not breaking on landing. If we're good about it, I would say that would add ~30 grams, for a total of about 115 grams of mass there. Jeb's base is nice and flat, and we can easily epoxy him to some sort of paddle-shaped object. I am currently a little less than halfway to building a rocket capable of hitching a ride on a balloon, and then flying to ~50k feet above the balloon's peak. I understand that the general consensus is to not put a rocket on the first balloon, for obvious reasons. However, I am eavesdropping a bit on the current plans, and will definitely build my craft based in large part on how you guys work things out. See you soon. I'm going to bed. -
1) Yes, you can take down the flag pole with Whack-a-Kerbal, though you have to aim for the base and it often takes several tries. 2) Yep! It actually can be opened on every screen in the game now. Including the initial loading screen, the start screen, and the VAB and SPH (though they don't do anything except make it look like you're pressing buttons when moused over.) There are now several small sheds by the R&D building that fall under the terrain, leaving no trace, when bombed. This also destroys a nearby section of R&D property. The same is true with many vehicles. This isn't really an Easter egg, but it's just a fun thing to see, if you're looking for it. I hereby vote that the KSP Forum community officially deems the indestructible Astronaut Training Center loo the "Immortal Space Toilet!" If enough people second this, I may make a separate polling thread.
