Second stage landing and recovery
Wallygator replied to Ozymandias_the_Goat's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Nice! Well done!!! now try it on a barge -
In stock I tend to make it all up as I go along, since it is actually very easy to chop and change. In RO/RSS I find it less frustrating to stick to a half dozen standard lifter designs for the exact opposite reason.
-
Yup.
-
1.0.5 RSS/RO/RF still going. And 1.1.2 stock for poking around while awaiting RO release - it's likely a switch over after that and archiving 1.0.5.

There is not enough coherent elements to career mode that rates it high enough for me to hate it. It is bland and un-engaging in my opinion. However, it is playable... Many players actually enjoy it for their own reasons And to the comment regarding Ph.D. requirements to play ksp in general I might suggest here that there are likely some PhDs who could play the game blindfolded so-to-speak, and there may be others who can't figure out how to properly wear a blind fold. Level of education does not always equate to capability. Complaining with a craft file or a pic is actually asking for active help. Complaining without providing a craft file or pic is sadly just complaining Also ksp auto saves, I think you'll be fine

What is this? Undres-ing of the forum? Dresden: the capital of dres? Dres-age: EVA on Dres = performance art. Badum tish. Dont forget to tip your servers.

All I can add, is thanks for listening and not discounting my suggestion out of hand. I leave it up to you to make the best decisions for your mod in the manner you prefer. Happy to add further input if and when you may benefit from it. Good Luck! I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes!!!

Looks cool. Would it be possible to adjust the base payment inline with a players reputation? Such that as the rep goes up/down the payment increases/decreases by a fraction. So if you reputation tanks, then your budget starts to get rapidly constrained. Just a thought. I think I might try this tonight.

Just installed RSS, RF, and 20 other mods. My OSX install is purring like a well fed kitten at the moment. No complaints other than the "Blocked Wheel Thingy" --> Heretofore referred to as BWT. I'm rather happy at the moment. Just patiently awaiting RO...

Exploring eve with my 205T Atomic plane
Wallygator replied to gilflo's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
No problem. I might just reference your pics as a source of inspiration to build my own contraption and see how it goes. Worse case scenario is that three Kerbals radio Kerbin for more supplies ;-) -
That's some great mission! Very nice pics. Looks like a very well planned excursion. "Kerbal for size"... too funny!

Exploring eve with my 205T Atomic plane

Excellent! Very nice indeed! I need one of these to rescue three Kerbals from the depths of Eve.;) -
1973-4 Heathkit electronic workshop here- What the heck is an integrated circuit?
-
Sounds like a less than optimal data architecture.
-
Regardless, This has been a great mod. Well conceived and well delivered. Credit due to all the modders that contributed this this. Well Done! The fact that the Devs noticed and finally incorporated some of these concepts is a good thing.

Exploring eve with my 205T Atomic plane

This is pretty cool! Only one thing... Desorbiting? Is that what I do on a hot day in Rome after finishing my iced dessert? ;-) (Sorry could not hold myself back - all in good fun) What mods? Seriously, nicely done.Well done sir! -
I sense there two different paradigms running at the same time. 1) Early Access (Driven by market) 2) Ongoing Development (Driven by Vision) Squad is likely continuing their ongoing development, in the face of market driven early access. I respectfully suggest we all just move on with a focus on improving the game regardless. EDIT: PATTERN? Yea, nothing abnormal.
-
I propose everyone is extrapolating against errant suppositions. Squad is undergoing their first-ever game development program. It's very easy and lazy to think that any organisation can immediately "wake up from birth" and flawlessly execute software development/release in a retail environment. Even world-class teams falter. However, It is the remit of a customer-base to callout failures - and the dev team must anticipate that. So... All kinds of sympathy - but no mercy. Enjoy your well deserved break, get ready Devs, Suck it up, and get to work! ;-) Seriously, you have created this fabulous mess with a really great product - now stick with it and show us how you can take it to the next level err... release... EDIT: I also anticipate that the Devs never read my posts. Still...

ROLF. Just graduating from high school here (at that time in 1978-79). Enjoying my endless summer. TV was that last thing on my list. However, this

To be repeated again...

Oh yes, I remember this. Never made it past 1.0...

OSX here - Frankly, I find the 1.1.2 to be quite stable - no crashes so far. I tried to replicate the issues above and... Ah... no crashes... Got bored of it after about 5 minutes of trying. I find this release to quite stable so far... I just don't like the whole " Blocked Wheels thing" You can work around it , but its an un-needed hassle. Quickly and sadly breaks my immersion. Incredibly great work Devs! You deserve your break. I would hope we could all just play for a couple of weeks and only then start harping on about our feedback. Hmmm... I think I'll do just that. EDIT: If there really is a VAB crash issue, then I would expect someone to provide a DETAILED STOCK procedure for replicating it. Not just "I go to VAB, Try do do Thing. Crash". Or, "Me too. Got to VAB do different Thing. Crash." Requirement(s) -> Use Case(s) -> Test procedure(s) -> Result(s) -> Action(s)

I think the reaction wheels are perfectly realistic for the stock unrealistic planetary system in which they exist. Now, in my RSS/RO install they are nearly realistic for the nearly realistic planetary system in which they exist. Oh, and I read all the thread media and also didn't vote - just like I do in real life. Also realistic!!!! Bonus!!!
