I’ve got 16 hours of play time, but can’t add to it anymore as the game crashes every single time without fail. I’ve tried loading my current saves, making new ones, verifying files, uninstalling and reinstalling, shutting down my pc, nothing works. I get to the main menu, but when I load a save, old or new, the game crashes at “pumping sim once” in the loading screen. I I have the fps on screen while this happens, and it goes from 30 to 20 to 10 to 1 to 0.5 within a 10-5 second window, and then it crashes. Seems that the next time I’ll be able to play the game is after the first patch, assuming that even fixes it. specs are 11th gen Intel i7 igpu, 3 GHz, 16gb ram, which is obviously below the minimum specs on gpu, but this wasn’t an issue for the first 16 hours, but it is now and it’s incredibly frustrating.

For reference, I am running version 1.11 on a PS4 Pro, with both the Making History and Breaking Ground DLC packs installed. Control preset is set to radial. I have the latest version of the PS4 system software installed (7.51). 1). Game crashes often - By often, I mean at least once a day. It's always the same error code when it happens; CE-34878-0, though it's not always under the same circumstances. It's mostly when transitioning between different areas of the interface (going to or from the tracking station, for example), but it sometimes crashes while I'm working on a craft in either the VAB, or the Spaceplane Hangar. 2). Corrupted Save Files - Sometimes, but not always, the aforementioned crashes result in the corruption of my save game data. This prompts the loading of a previous version that was backed up by the system. I was hoping this problem would have been solved by now. I lost my entire career save last summer due to this, including dozens of ship designs, and space stations. While this thankfully hasn't caused a complete career loss again, it does result in a net loss of progress with whatever I happened to be working on. 3). Abysmal frame rates - This mostly rears its head in the VAB and Spaceplane Hangar. It get to a point where my cursor skips around, with a few seconds of freezing in between movements. This is extremely frustrating, and makes it almost impossible to build a rocket at times. The craft in question aren't near the parts count limit for even a level 2 VAB or Spaceplane Hangar, let alone anything you would need a level 3 facility in order to construct. I have turned off the ground crew in an attempt to combat this, to no avail. Other times it's during a launch, where the frame rate tanks so badly that staging a section of my rocket will freeze the display for up 15 seconds before anything actually happens, and the flight is otherwise running at what can only be single digit frame rates. The game is almost unplayable in these instances. 4.) Incorrect craft loading onto the runway and landing pad - This one is extremely annoying, and happens quite frequently. I will be working on a craft, and when I go to launch, the craft that appears is not the one I was working on. Sometimes it's a previous iteration of the craft, and sometimes it's a different craft entirely. This seems somehow tied to the auto-saved craft file. I have resorted to deleting the auto-save craft before launching, which sometimes results in me being kicked to the KSC main interface (presumably because the game was trying to load a craft that no longer existed). 5). Camera getting locked while in VAB and Spaceplane Hangar - At times, while building a craft, the camera will become locked, and unresponsive to any attempts to zoom, rotate, or pan around. While this will usually be resolved by enabling the cursor, grabbing something from the parts tree, and dropping it back, I will sometimes have to exit out to a different part of the interface in order to regain functionality of the camera. 6). Autorotate during EVA does not always work - My Kerbalnauts will sometimes travel in a completely different direction than where the camera is facing (even with orient with camera toggled), or just spin around uncontrollably. Disengaging and re-engaging SAS and RCS appears to have no effect in these instances. 7). Target being dropped during a maneuver burn - My selected target will sometimes be dropped mid-burn, causing the remaining Delta-V meter for the burn to reset to full, and my maneuver node icon on the navball to be in a completely different location. This effectively ruins the maneuver and wastes excessive amounts of Delta-V. From what I have observed, this occurs during a burn that will end up transferring your ship from one sphere of influence into another. 8). Target vessel rapidly changes orbit during rendezvous - When performing a rendezvous maneuver, and closing within the last few hundred meters, the target craft will sometimes speed away suddenly for no apparent reason. The vessels were, at the time of incident, in 0.0° inclination of each other, and the orbits were circular. Upon checking the map, the target vessel's orbit had changed from circular, to suborbital with an extremely high apoapsis. 9). Rovers, landers, debris, etc. floating up off of the ground after changing focus to another object/vessel/EVA Kerbal - This is a strange one. My first experience with this issue was while testing a mobile missile launcher on the KSC runway. I fired one of the missiles, and switched focus to the missile so that I could better observe the trajectory. Upon switching focus back to the launcher, I found it slowly levitating up off of the ground at 2 m/s. The probe was still active, and I could toggle SAS off and on, but it was otherwise completely uncontrollable. It reached an altitude higher than the Mun before physics regained control and sent it crashing down into the desert. I have also observed this happen with an entire field of debris from a crashed vessel. One of my brothers, who plays on Xbox One, has confirmed that this phenomenon is not exclusive to the PS4 version. *Fixed in EE patch 12 10). I have no idea what to call this aside from the end of the world - This one, I have seen only once, but it was game breaking. The series of events leading up to it were Kraken related, however. I had a rover tucked away inside of a Mk3 cargo bay, en route to Eeloo. After performing the transfer burn, and confirming that it was on its way to an intercept, I left it alone to continue other projects in the game that I was working on. At a point in time, where everything else was finished with, I switched to the tracking station and time warped to where a mid-course correction burn was located for the craft carrying the rover. Upon loading into space to control the vessel, the rover began violently vibrating inside of the cargo bay, instantly tearing the entire ship apart in spectacular fashion. I reloaded my last quicksave, and performed the same actions. This time, the rover didn't experience RUD, but every object in the solar system turned completely black, as though Kerbol no longer existed to shine light upon anything. I went around to my different orbital satellites, and it was the same everywhere. Back at the KSC, where the buildings should have been, there were instead transparent areas in the shape of the buildings that you could see the starfield through the ground. Reloading save games did not clear the anomaly. I had to exit out of the game entirely and reload it in order for it to return to normal. Honesty thought I was going to lose another career save here.

KSP crashing randomly.
Quantumkakes posted a topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
First of all I will give my computer specs for the support team. Battery (I usually keep my laptop plugged in): Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. Adapter: Microsoft AC Adapter. Computer: ACPI x64-Based PC. Disk Drive: Micron_2210_MTFDHBA1T0QFD GPU (I have 2): Intel(R) UHD Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU (NOTE: I do overclock my GPUs, (Because I usually plug my laptop in, I don't need to worry about power usage.) They do stay in a safe temperature (around 40-60 Celsius) The highest my GPU has gotten was 70 Celsius one time when I was seeing what graphics one of my games should be.)) CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H at 2.30GHz (I also overclock my CPU, but it also stays at a safe temperature) IMPORTANT! Tech support, Please let me know if there is anything I need to add, remove because it is not relevant to my problem, or change. Now, onto my problem. I have noticed that KSP has crashed randomly when I am playing, even though My GPU and CPU can easily handle it at even high graphics. This is what would happen: first, the audio would freeze (It sounds like a loud metallic buzz) for a few seconds. Next, the game would freeze but the audio kept playing. The strange thing is that my whole computer would not load any new elements in for the duration of the crash. this would go on for about 30-60 seconds. Sometimes the spin wheel would show up and the game would give the white tint of death. but the: KSP is not responding window would appear. If I clicked end program, it would close it. Sometimes though I would Wait out of curiosity, and the unity crash manager would close the game after some time. another thing to note is that steam would not let me open the game because it was "still running". Here are the methods that I tried to use: First, I would try lowering the graphics. There was no change in the crash frequency, I updated my Graphics Driver. No change. The only thing that temporally reduces the crashes is restarting my computer. But, even that does not eliminate the crashes completely. Please let me know what I should do to fix this, thanks! -
Ce-34878-0 errors at least 2 times per game. Unable to reliably recreate at will, just seems to happen at random points. No reason or warning. 1. More often than not the error displays following a hang/locked screen, i..e in the VAB 2. Also tends to occur if jumping back to the VAB or KSC from the menu options 3. Had the same error when building, flying, walking. I have over 86 flights in the career, gut feel is this is a memory spike., Although I have recently reset my ps4 twice and there is no evidence to suggest this will make a differentm . Logging all my instanses as best as I can on the bug tracker but noones come back to me.

So, after some time i decided to pick up an old 1.7.0 install and decided to install some mods: - Airplane Plus (With Firespitter included) - KAS - Hyperedit - Near Future (Solar and Launch Vehicles) - Outer Planets Mod (With Kopernicus as it´s dependency) - RLA Reborn - Probes Before Crew (With Community Tech Tree as it´s dependency) - Hide Empty Tech Tree Nodes (Recommended for PBC) - Science Relay - Station Parts Extension Redux - Through the Eyes of a Kerbal - Kerbal Alarm Clock - Vessel Mover Some other mods: - B9 Part Switch (2 versions, for Near Future Solar Vehicles and Station Parts Extension Redux ) - Near Future Props But since then, i've been experiencing lots of crashes, probaly the results of RAM usage spikes during gameplay. I went into this forum and saw the suggestion to use the -force-opengl command. But everytime i use this command (and the -force-glcore one) the game immediately crashes when i start it. Any solutions? My PC specs: System - Windows 10-64Bit Ram - 4GB CPU - Intel Core i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz Crash Logs: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1PJUryIyh7K5JUAPtst3OqqeLyLWYOd_v https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/12IqaetrsWTDsh3CP_2utNO1bwqWx-ZBl https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/18Snvq1k9OHWRw4vxSfG1j6sIIDDwgCDE

I'm running KSP 1.8.1 from Steam with a fair number of mods: Realism Overhaul and all its dependencies, Real Solar System and its dependencies, MechJeb2, and Principia. My problem is that I can load my worlds (albeit slowly) and open the launchpad and set a target in map view, but the moment I try engaging the autopilot in MechJeb (or pausing the game—that seems to cause the same problem) the game freezes and I have to force close it. I'm running it from Steam with the -force-glcore launch option so the game doesn't run out of memory (I have 16gb RAM and my PC's specs should not be a bottleneck). I've attached my Player.log, KSP.log, and a video with the replication steps here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/z8024cpf160fjlq/AABq_k5UnXyunaHYc75tk_cKa?dl=0. (Note that the video has like entire minutes of nothing happening; this was actually during the loading screens. Sorry for the choppy video. It didn't look that bad from my end.) I'm trying to launch Raidernick's Luna 13 into Earth orbit at the lunar plane of orbit. I'm confused because this worked before (about a month ago) without major issues, but trying it now the game pretty much always freezes up. Even funnier is that the one time I record my screen to show it, it actually doesn't freeze the first time around! It did freeze when I disengaged and re-engaged the autpilot though, so the problem really is still there. I know I'm not running out of RAM or anything because when I open the task manager nothing is excessively full (the RAM sits around 70% full when the game is running). I'd really appreciate it if you guys could give me a hand with getting my game functional again. I know RO works for the people who use it so I'm kinda sad that it doesn't seem to be working for me.. Thanks in advance!

Hope someone can help, I've been playing KSP for years with no issues but had a few month gap. I installed 1.10.1 as clean install and ever since I get random hard crashes to Blue Screen on windows after about 20 minutes of gameplay. No crash dump seems to be generated bbut here are what log files I can find https://gofile.io/d/gowZgx Every time it crashes the crash is preceded by the sound going all choppy, and then a few seconds later it crashes (In case that is any clue). Any ideas - I miss being able to killexplore with kerbals. Thanks

PS4 Pro, radial preset, Parts and History, Breaking Ground, EE patch 12. Seriously. I feel like the program error and corrupted save screens should be added as stock loading screens, because I see them just as much as the title screen. Sarcasm aside, this latest version crashes significantly more than the game previously did, which is saying a lot, because it crashed daily to begin with. I have had five already today. My latest incident; I was literally doing NOTHING. I had the map screen open, and I was texting my brother about target inclinations. I looked up right as the game was autosaving, and that's when it crashed. Loaded the game back up, and sure enough, corrupted save data. There are no steps to reproduce this, because it randomly happens with everything in the game. Creating a ship, saving a ship, looking at the tracking station, attempting to control another vessel, autosaving, the list goes on (although, if I'm being honest, a large majority of the crashes occur during screen transitions, ie VAB to launch pad, vessel to tracking station, etc.). So I guess the steps are to just play the game like you normally would. It's even crashed when I go to load a quicksave file. So frustrated with this game now.

Hi folks, I have a curious issue that has reared it's ugly Kerbal Krashing head a few times so I'm wondering if any of you fine Kerbalnauts have had (or fixed) the same problem. I can't recall specifics from any previous times it happened but on this occasion, I had reached space (in a ship with 30 parts - started a new career save) and separated down to my final stage all without issue. I then went EVA to do a report, but when I boarded my capsule once again and adjusted to a retrograde profile, the program seemed to erm… 'half-crash'. My vessel became unresponsive and figured the battery in my capsule had died so my reaction wheels were unable to counter my turn to retrograde and thus continued spinning on the axis I turned. Alas, the battery was still 75% charged. I tried some other controls, beginning with another EVA which worked but I couldn't board the vessel again, I could look at the messages, contracts, deltaV info etc, I could minimize the navball and bring it back upt yet I could still not enter my craft or get it to respond in any fashion, then I also noticed I could no longer move the camera - but still I could do the other things. I brought up my task manager to see if it has stopped responding but according to that it was still fine. Then I noticed a 2nd program running under the KSP heading - this was the UnityCrashHandler64.exe - THIS file was listed as not responding. I am using the latest 64 bit version of KSP - recently purchased on the COVID cheap through steam with both expansions on a nearly new Intel i5 MSI gaming laptop and apart from a little occasional stuttering, it runs perfectly 99% of the time. I can only confirm this as unity crash for this specific crash but I believe it has been the same crash previously (3 or 4 times) - each time the only ting I can do is end the task on KSP and restart the application. I would be extremely grateful if anyone has a solution to this issue, Thanks Kerbalnaut #55487 --- EDIT --- I could find no output.log file in my KSP folder but I did find a KSP.log file, the last entries were - [LOG 17:50:36.075] [Experiments]: FX Modules set: 0 [LOG 17:50:36.079] [FLIGHT GLOBALS]: Switching To Vessel Untitled Space Craft ---------------------- [LOG 17:50:36.079] [PlanetariumCamera]: Focus: Untitled Space Craft [LOG 17:50:36.090] Camera Mode: AUTO [LOG 17:50:39.835] [Experiments]: Setting FX Modules to 1... Hi I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 with the GOG version of KSP, and when I launch the game I immediately get a black screen and the cursor followed by a crash to desktop. This is a fresh install with all the dlc and no mods. Here is a link to my log file, Player.log

My laptop came with 8 GB of RAM. While it is more than enough to run stock, my stupid ass installed 60+ mods. And you know, when you install your first mod, you just can't go back to stock. Of course i had multiple crashes and I couldn't run copernicous and KSPIE, but i always thought it was because of weak integrated graphics. However, i recently got additional 4 GB from a friend, and boy oh boy does it make a difference. It can easily run Kerbal Star Systems, KSPIE and 80+ other mods, and i am just so happy. So, how much do you have and what are your experiences?

Multiple times now, Kerbal Space Program has crashed and I don't know why There are three crashes so far, and each crash happens when I land on Kerbin and return to Space Center and enter a building. I use unmodded KSP 1.44.2215. This actually happened about a week after I first downloaded and played the game. here is the latest report: Kerbal Space Program [version: Unity 2017.1.3p1 (02d73f71d3bd)] KSP_x64.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module KSP_x64.exe at 0033:74f7c704. I got a crash again, but it's different... This time, it happens at the menu, right as the menu music starts playing, and the screen is loading, the game crashes. Got the Output log here: https://pastebin.com/raw/0mMzj4HZ I'll put in the title and tags that this is a dead post when solved.

My ksp is crashing constantly I've installed all the mods via ckan(except kss) and they are all up-to date. Its probably one of the newer mods I decided to try out Ill put the error list here and a list of new ones I tried. Also someone teach me how to read error logs , and If you need the output log tell me.

A guide to help people know common words used in the explanation of game crashes. (Basically like my TCIS's Guide To Words). Mono.dll: Mono.dll is KSP's memory. When your game crashes, and you check the 'error' file, roughly half of the time it says 'mono.dll caused an access violation in module mono.dll'. A simple way to fix this is to remove mods, thus relieving the strain on the memory. Output_log: When your game crashes, it usually produces an output_log. This log shows you the cause of the crash. A great way to get answers for your problem is to upload the log to a file sharing site (Dropbox, pastebin, etc), and then paste the link to it on the forums. Error: A file that is produced when your game crashes. While the output_log shows what happened when the game crashed, the error_log shows why it happened. This is an example log: mono.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module mono.dll at 0023:1011940a. That shows what caused the crash, and what time it occurred. Access Violation: Simply put, an access violation is when a part stops working, and causes the game to crash. The '0xc' is an error code. If you want to suggest something to include, or for me to provide more information on a certain area, then let me know, TCIS

Bom...

so ive been playing modded ksp for months then out of no where today when i went to launch ksp it crashed on startup. i tried to restart but it did the same thing. i even deleted mods one at a time to see if it was a certain mod. after a while i ended up resetting my computer to factory settings to see if that worked, to no avail .i guess what im asking is how do i keep this from happening. here are my comp specs: processor:intel(r) celron(r) cpu 1007U @ 1.50GHz 1.50GHz installed memory(RAM): 4.00GB(3.89 usable) system type:64 bit opperating system, x64-based processor

Im having problems when the PS4 Version Crashes and when KSP crashes at loading screens 9/10 times I faced corrected Save file when restarting the game. This has caused me to play in sandbox mode only until squad fix this bug and I posted this to raise awarness that we are getting corrupted saves when the game crashes. Heres a reddit post from a subreddit called r/consoleksp https://www.reddit.com/r/ConsoleKSP/comments/4t0am5/how_long_until_the_corruption_bug_is_fixed/

Hi All, So for the longest time (since probably pre-0.24) I would launch KSP via the executable in the KSP folder, without opening steam, or after closing it first. To save the RAM of course. A few days back, I was getting MAD crashes, mainly in the VAB, but also in-flight. I have a LOT of mods, so I wasn’t too chagrined, but it seemed to be getting worse, so I did some digging through my output.log. There were some nullreferenceexceptions and some other erros, mainly only of a couple of types it seemed. I don’t know emough about these things to be able to identify any mod-related issues from what I saw. But I did see “steam” appear a few times. So I thought “Is KSP looking for some handle or other from the steam program, and not finding it, getting upset? So I now start KSP via steam, and for the last couple of day have had ZERO crashes… This might just be observation bias, if crashes are random, then they can get better as well as worse. Is there any reason why crashes, specifically VAB crashes, might be related to running Steam? Thanks!

I'm trying to do something about my frequent crashing in 1.1. Can't play for more than a couple of minutes without experiencing some kind of weird crash. (Yes, I tried forcing it in OpenGL - just gave me different crash messages instead). So I just want to ask the experienced mod community: which of these mods might be the most likely to cause crashes? My PC has 16 GB of RAM, 4 GB of VRAM and a Geforce 780. I can deck out a game like Skyrim with 6 gigabytes worth of graphical mods, so technically speaking it should be able to handle a lot of extra fluff. Here are the few mods I use in KSP:

Sometimes when launching a flight or switching to a flight, the screen becomes completely unresponsive. No matter if I'm alt-tabbed or in-game, none of my clicks register and I'm unable to use the keyboard at all (Not even using Activity Manager works at this point). Putting the screen down on my Macbook also has no effect at all, as it still stays on (Apple logo stays lit). Every time this happens, I have to restart my Macbook, and then it boots up completely fine. KSP also doesn't register it as a crash for some reason, but every time this has happened, I've been running it. Mods: - Scatterer (Which I've also noticed has started to glitch more with the water recently, with it appearing in a shade of red and black on occasion) - KSPRC - EVE - EngineLight - Final Frontier - Mechjeb - Mac OS X 64-bit workaround This has only recently started to happen. I have not installed any mods or done anything significant in this timeframe. I am running OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite.
