Hey frenz :3

Would anyone be able to help me with some Atlas LV3B nonsense?

I have Mercury Atlas 6 to basically every spec, (Making sure I didn't forget any secret third stage LMAO) and for whatever reason the rocket completely flips over on crewed missions. I've launched MA2 and MA3 uncrewed with identical rockets only without crew control and they get to orbit just fine using the exact same PVG parameters. I have the skirt auto-jettison at 3.5 units of whatever, so there's nothing in my eyes that should be flipping it off course. I've also tried pitching at both 90 and 180 degree inclination, I don't know the actual pitch maneuver.

If anyone can help I will give you one single cookie. Thanks :3

What part is the root part? Sometimes that will cause a problem. After finishing the build I always reroot the stack to the capsule. Also, despite the historical inaccuracy, I do not use PVG for the Mercury Atlas, I use the standard mode (whose name is escaping me right now). PVG is very touchy with some rockets.

The issue with actually using PVG for Atlas in KSP really is that IRL, closed loop guidance would kick in after a fixed pitch program which afaik remains in place until the booster skirt is jettisoned. With Atlas in KSP though, I don't believe you can link PVG start to a specific stage so usually it starts closed loop guidance before the booster is jettisoned and then ends up making wild corrections once it is.

I had considered rotating the craft around before, but sadly, the way I have my capsule set up relative to the atlas is already accurate to the real rocket

Thing is I HAVE launched these before, it just seems that changing the serial number, flag, and adding a Kerbal causes the atlas to flip over ;-;

Have you tried an identical craft just with decals removed?

Well, I got way behind on paying the second installment of my screenshot tax, so here it is:

KH-11 KENNEN

A mighty Titan IIID sits on the pad a Vandenberg ready to launch one of the most secretive payloads of all time. Checkouts complete, the vehicle rumbles off the pad under the power of the Stage 0 UA 1205 SRBs. Staging is successful and the vehicle continues on with the LR-87-AJ11 pushing her uphill.

Shroud separation occurs on time revealing the mysterious payload. The 2nd stage finishes the work of putting the KH-11 into the proper orbit. Solar panel and payload activation is nominal. The previously launched SDS provides a key data link to the ground. Hmmm.... what are the Krussians up to now?

Note... I modified my KH-11 build from what @Friznit has in the Wiki using ScanSat parts. The solar panels have to go inside the shroud and this is the only way that can be done. I did heavily base my build on what he has there, though. It gave me a good starting point. This is a cool mission to fly.

Can't help but feel I've asked this before but just wanna double check.

Should an Apollo 7 stack only have 3000 atmosphere dV and 5200 vacuum delta-V? Feel like it's a tad low for 2.65x scale ;-;

Saturn IB w/ Apollo has notoriously tight margins, there's a pretty good and hopefully still up-to-date guide for launching it here if you're having trouble with it.

Just remember to use the propper apollo configuration, you only carry half the fuel otherwise a Saturn IB won't be able to give you the needed ride to orbit :D (maybe you already know but is an usual problem with that stack so is good to refresh that knowledge in the forums every once in a while).

having a log spam from B9 part switcher for this mod . https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/sdb6s1g0q4tbo5ye8t90l/AKqvjvWx0chJwIYOhxny-lo?rlkey=jgvwwek3va2vvea5ixe6gyul0&st=n1vkiz4v&dl=0  player log and KSP log.

I found 3 goodies that will definitely improve your situation:

  248 [WRN 10:52:09.642] AssemblyLoader: Assembly 'KerbalKonstructs' has not met dependency 'CustomPreLaunchChecks' V1.0.0

Plain ole missing dependency - you need CustomPrelaunchChecks.

  658 [LOG 10:52:32.797] MiniAVC-V2 -> Assembly: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\KIS\Plugins\MiniAVC-V2.dll

See the mod "ZeroMiniAVC" for why you don't want this in your install. You can either use that mod if you want, or just delete this DLL by hand.

   81 [LOG 10:52:09.291] AssemblyLoader: KSPAssembly 'B9PartSwitch' V2.18.0

The current version is 2.20.0 so this needs to be updated.
