Hello everyone, I hope you like my header... as it states, this is a compilation of the greatest visual/stock part enhancing mods out there including Stock Bug Fix modules, CollisionFX, KCT, a new sunflare, custom textures, matching toolbar icons, and a list of mods specifically for use in video editing. This is the exact setup that I use for my videos and cinematics in KSP (minus personally edited textures which I cannot legally distribute) with exception to mods marked with this star "". Mods marked with a star I don't personally use. Under each heading all mods are listed top to bottom in a non-specific order".  I hope you enjoy it as much I have. :)

Note that to run this setup you will need to use -force-openGl mode.
It saves ~1.5 gigs of ram with this setup. See here for instructions on how to add this to a shortcut.

Never heard of the skytonemapping mod, since I don't like scatterer I might try that one. EDIT: Oh, that is Scatterer, nevermind not using that.

Never heard of the skytonemapping mod, since I don't like scatterer I might try that one. EDIT: Oh, that is Scatterer, nevermind not using that.

It's not exactly scatterer. It was made by Blackrack but it's actually a plugin that uses some lost code in KSP to enable better blending. It works on all planets.

Surprised that Ven's Stock Revamp isn't on this list. Granted it adds parts but they blend really well and don't change how stock plays out, and the visuals are just plain excellent.

But I was surprised to find a couple of mods on here that I didn't already have, so kudos!

Autoasparagus - Haven't heard of it before. Looks interesting. I can add that sometime tomorrow.

CoolRockets - OMG how could I have missed this mod!? I even use it for cinematics too...

CustomAsteroids - Haven't heard of it yet. It alters the stock game significantly, but it sounds pretty nice. Adding.

Docking sounds - Ship effects already has docking sounds, so I listed it instead of Docking Sounds. Good find though.

DOE - Adding.

EditorExtensions - I don't personally use this one, but I can add it.

Final Frontier - I've heard of this but I haven't actually played with it. Adding.

Kerbal Joint Reinforcement - Personally I think it changes a core feature of the stock game too much for me to add it. It also modifies parts. Also craft built with it installed don't run nearly as well when in a completely stock game. Great mod, but sorry.

KerboKatz modlets - I'll look into those! Marking them for later.

Considering about 90% of the above+original are on CKAN, I'd suggest offering a .ckan file along with the short list of the mods not on CKAN.

I'm too old school :P. If you/someone is willing so write a .ckan file for this I would be more than happy to add it to the OP though. It'd be right near the top.

BREAKING NEWS.

It actually runs. :D

Hitting a max of ~2.6 GB with -force-opengl. On first time load up it spiked all the way up to 3.32 GB and crashed even with -force-opengl but after I deleted a duplicate modulemanager it had no problems whatsoever. Not sure if it was correlated with that or if it will just crash on first load up for everyone. I'm in the middle of setting up a two step CKAN and batch file semi-automated download. It has to be two parts because not all these mods are on CKAN. Mine aren't :blush:

I just discovered "RKE On-screen Joystick (and Fine Keyboard Controls)" and fell in love with it after just one flight. KSP's stock keyboard controls are all or nothing, making fine adjustments difficult. with the OCJ, maneuvers are no longer prone to a lot of desperate tapping resulting in ocillations. It supports Pitch/yaw and pitch/roll analog onscreen controls, as well as having an option to make holding a control key gradually scale up to 100% (or your preferred maximum) over a specific amount of time. I don't think I'll ever fly another ship without it (or a real joystick).

Persistent thrust: Allows thrust during high time warps. It's physicsless, don't worry about it breaking ships. You can now get to Jool with just ion engines without needing to go watch a movie while waiting HOURS for the maneuvers to complete. Never again.

Persistent rotation: Spin isn't removed during warps or ship switching or game loading (Again, physicsless spin, your CPU won't melt at 100,000x). With SAS, you can lock an orbiting ship to any valid target to use as a reference frame, so a still ship can stay pointing at kerbin/kerbol/The KSS.

EVAfuel: EVA thrusters now use the monopropellant that every command pod has anyway. An intended stock feature that was scrapped for fun, but we're masochists right? Automatically fills up and dumps fuel back into a ship on exit and entry, and also happens to make the EVA jets slightly less effective the EVAfuel now has mass.

Hey, great work ect ect. I've been painstakingly installing the mods one by one ever so slowly and I have a few questions.

KSPRC what do we do with the KSP_Data folder, what do we do with all the other folders besides texture replacer EVE and boulderco?

Tychoskymap: All there is is a link to a nasa website where you can download various files with absolutely no installation instructions. I don't know if this is on purpose or not? I have installed skyboxes before. I never had to do this and its pretty confusing. More to come as I continue my install.

Where do you install the better atmospheres "Sharedassets9.assets" file. for the sunflare?

I'm gonna assume that were not supposed to install anything from KSPRC than your 4 steps which says those folders I listed above. So I guess I wont be overwriting the stuff in planetshine?

The download for stock plus brings you to the "

StockPlusController.cfg" file. where should I place it?

I think for stock plus you should edit it from saying adjustable wheel grip to moduelwheelfix.

Don't install the KSPRC KSP_Data folder! It's for an outdated version of KSP and installing it will break your game. All it is is an outdated sunflare, and there is an updated sunflare already included in the list.

Hm... I'll add more instruction to that in the OP. Place it inside the folder "KSP_Data". This is the replacement file for KSPRC's sunflare.

Nope :). It runs fine without it. I have a feeling that all it does is rewrite the config file to add different values for the effects. You could mess with that if you want and report back to me actually.

Thanks for the reply! :D Oh my god. It works. For one glorious minute it worked, I alt tabbed to check mem usage it was like 1.9 gigs on loading screen. When I went back to the game I can move the mouse around, it still has the KSP mouse, But its just a plain black screen. :[ I don't know if this is a persistant problem or what but i'll be back to post some fabulous screen shots when I figure it out. (Super excited for cold rockets. >.>)

EDIT: Ok my pc is poopy so it wont let me take screenshots. :'( But it's pretty. Also I installed Lacks Stock Extension. Seems to be working perfectly fine. I left out all the contract stuff cause I play sandbox, and i'll probably add more mods ontop of that. Lol. The load time is impressive I guess thats the power of openGL but you picked some very nice mods that work great together. I'll come back and comment on the stability when I know more about it. Black screen problem never happened again. Great mod(pack)! Thanks!
