Mechjeb is still not working for version 0.23 on OSX. The parts appear in the VAB but no Mechjeb controls are available on the launch pad. I have tried the updated version available to download from this forum and it still won't work.

Yes it does. It's working fine with 10.9 here thanks very much. Try posting more details if you want help: is this in career mode or sandbox? What other mods do you have installed that might be conflicting? Did you install correctly (i.e., drop the entire MechJeb2 folder inside the GameData folder?). More details would help figure out what's going on with your system.

I'm using OS X 10.9.1, MechJeb doesn't work. The part is already attachable(not sure I wrote it right) but there's no mechjeb tab on the in-game screen. I'm only using fairing factory and mechjeb. Playing on v0.23. Someone can help us?

I have been watching the landings done by the Landing Guidance module. The landing prediction appears to change dramatically as the spacecraft is rotated as if the computation was using the control point of the spacecraft (which is normally at one end of the craft). Prior to entering the atmosphere, the landing prediction is generally within a couple of meters of the target. As the landing continues the predicted landing point gradually moves longer (i.e., Eastward if you are approaching from the West). At the point at which the spacecraft goes vertical for the final decent, the landing point appears to move approximately 100 meters (for a spacecraft that is approximately 2 meters long).

All of these observations appear to be consistent with the landing simulation being computed from one end of the spacecraft rather than from the center of mass. The landing predictions might be significantly more stable (and accurate) if the simulation made the computations using the location of the center of mass of the spacecraft.

Sarbian, Did one of the latest dev builds break compatability with toolbar, or have I just borked something bad? I tried removing and reinstalling MJ, and the optional toolbar plugin and still doesn't seem to come up.

asbrand : can't help you unless you check error message in the log. Those 2 modules works fine here.

I cleared my log, loaded my game, and went to my two-part ship. They start out coupled together. The object is to decouple, and then rotate the "lander" around and dock nose-to-nose with the orbiter. Again, it failed to do anything, like in my previous post with the in-game image I supplied. Here is the entire log. Looks like "object reference not set" is the problem.

I had to delete hundreds and hundreds of lines like these:

I had a few question about the new "ÃŽâ€V include cosine losses" option, or the fact that the Delta-V windows now report negative number.

Both are related to this new option. First you need to add it to your Delta-V windows if it's not here already (it here by default for new config). Press the E of the window and search for "ÃŽâ€V include cosine losses" in the Thrust section, then add it.

This option change how the Thrust is displayed in the detaV stats. If an engine is not aligned with the ship it will show a lower thrust when the option is active. Here is an example.

First when the engine are aligned with the "up" of the rocket (I turned them since those are not aligned by default)

With a 45° angle you have only cos(45°) = 70.7% of the original thrust

With a 90° angle you have 0% of the original thrust

And in reverse you get negative thrust

The option only change the Delta-V info. MJ always know that an angled engine provide less thrust.

running todays version and seems to be working great! the rover waypoint thing is awsome!

Just when I dumped all my rovers (well, I wished to, but had to return them home actually with science payload) :) They're not efficient anyway (taking into account real time amount needed for those rides), so I'll start working on science hovercraft.

Noik : no, jet engine (and rapier in jet mode) have a large reaction time and that confuse MJ in the final steps of the landing. You could try switching to rocket mode just before the ground, it should get it from there.

In that case, is there a way to do the throttle manually and let Mechjeb do the much more difficult steering? It costs so much less fuel when sticking to Jets.

OK, I know I'm gonna take some flak for this. I've downloaded the latest version of MechJeb and tried to install it by extracting the contents of the zipped file into the appropriate folders in my KSP game folder (parts, plugins) etc. Can't seem to get it to work (MJ tab on launch doesn't show up). Did a clean install of KSP .23; could someone please explain to me how to properly install MJ?

Build 147. This little satellite isn't working right. It acts as if the OKTO2 has no torque at all and the inline SAS just makes it wobble around instead of turning and holding a direction under the control of Smart A.S.S. Thus it cannot do any maneuvers. I have one orbiting Duna and one around Ike, need to change their orbits but can't. :( Used to work fine, even sent one from low Duna orbit to Ike orbit.

No longer the appropriate folders. The appropriate folder is "GameData": stick your MechJeb2 folder there.

Installing mods changed in KSP .20, and it's been "dump me in GameData" ever since.

Ok, I did that, but MJ still doesn't seem to be working. When I put a rocket on the Launchpad I don't see the MJ tab on the right where it's supposed to be. Is there something else that I need to do?
